Apparently so, only batteries inc. ego type are chancy.I've lost track....What is the latest on FT liquids? Are they getting on the planes OK?

That hammer almost made me blow the cobwebs out of my wallet and tell the kids they are on a beans and weenies diet for a month.![]()
Just got the X8 Carto Tank in ... nice looking unit... BUT ... I can't get it to work with these Boge Cartos I have.
I punched them myself, pretty much exactly like the stock X8 carto is (same distance from the 510 connection so the hole sits just a bit above the bottom-inside of the tank. Juice simply does not feed. What is alarming is in the holes of the Boge, I see black, which I'm guessing is stainless steel mesh or something. Do any Boge experts know, did I do it right, or do you have to go higher up? (or some other trick I don't know)
I'm going to make one of those when I get time, that looks pretty slick.
Looks like a 1 1/4 SS T-Fitting with some trick machine work and polishing. My inverter is burned up tho. I'm in the market for used lathe and mill right now that I can power with 240 so I don't have to use an inverter anymore... it's a huge pain.
If I stop blowing all my cash on FT maybe I can get the stuff replaced this winter and get back to hobby work again.
If you have some pics that would be wonderful.
I use the X8 with Boges. I do take a hacksaw to the Boges to open 1 hole up more. I am going to test it on the second hole next fill. I use 75-80% VG and it needs the larger hole to wick well.
I tried mixing approx. 75% pg and 25% VG.. thing emptied with the hacksaw cut but a fresh boge did the trick. I just don't like high PG.
Black? hmm mine is white... unless you look in the top then there is some black "dot" type thing.
I am just about to throw in the towel and demand a refund. I know some people have had it worse than me, but, frankly, maybe they should have demanded a refund as well.
I understand that the problems with the post is not FT's fault. However, it is FT's problem. In my case, USPS still read "Acceptance" from 10/25. HKP says that the item was "Returned to Sender on 10/5". I've placed a ticket with FT asking if they had received my order back on 10/6. I got the same canned response we've seen pasted all over this thread. I asked them again early yesterday and have not heard back from them.
I think what kills me the most is the orders placed after mine was in "acceptance" that have been delivered while mine, and many orders even older than mine are still in HK somewhere. Have the Chinese not mastered the art of FIFO (First In First Out)?
I think I'm about done. I could have ordered the same stuff from US based vendors, sent it back, ordered it again, and repeated the entire cycle again and STILL be vaping on an SVD right now!
Speaking of, where can I get an SVD stateside, cheap, with decent batteries and charger?

I had to take a dremel with a cutoff wheel and cut slots in the cartos.... the phil method: A PBusardo Tutorial - How I slot my cartos!.wmv - YouTube
You may need to make them larger or smaller depending on your vg ratios. Also make sure you use a really small detail file, sandpaper or something to make sure you clean up the sharp edges on you new slots so they don't cut the o-rings when inserting or removing them from the tank. It works. I'm a chain-vaper and caro's weren't working for me until I started doing this.
I tried cutting the slots vertically too instead of horizontal like in the video and it worked great.. EXCEPT when you slide the carto down to refill the tank, it gives the juice an open drain to leak out past the o-ring so that didn't work out so well... DOA!
edit: Oh yea... almost forgot. After you open up the holes you MUST have the top screw in the hole all the time when using to keep the vacuum/pressure equal in the tank. If you take that screw out, it will let open air into the tank and it will be pretty much like having a hole in your tank, it will simply drain all the juice through the carto and out the bottom of the 510 into your mod. Don't lose the screw and also don't try to fill through that hole with a syringe. That will also cause pressure to build while you are filling and all that pressure goes to the same place.. down the 510 into your mod.

Did you do both holes? ....
Have you tried another wick? Sounds like it is not pulling e-liquid.
If you have no spare heads:
Remove base
Wiggle pipe off coil head
with Tweezers - carefully remove flavor wicks - Should be (2) 1mm wicks or (1) 2mm wick
If (2) 1mm wick, they lay side by side in the slot, over the coil wick
anyway, there should only be enough wick material in there to fill the void without over packing. If they accidently placed an extra(3rd flavor wick) remove it from the group.
If only 2 (1mm) wicks, split one 1/2 and install 1.5 back in the slot
If 1 larger(2mm wick) split a small section away and install most back in place.
If this works, you should be good to go. If it starts to leak, add a bit of wick back in.
If it still goes dry, remove a tiny bit more.
Always look at the slot once the pipe is back on and be sure there are no Gaps to leak fluid. Fluff wick ends.
Well I could not stand it, just placed 2 more orders, but made sure no batteries. First is for a pipe setup that takes 18350 battery (in stock), and second is a couple of mod tubes like EGO's that take 14500 battery (ships in 5 days), which I have the batteries for both already. We shall see how shipping goes this time.
