After further review... Seems I don't want protected batteries with the Kick module -- which works out well for me, as the unprotected are shorter. Gotta share, as I'm excited to use my first big-boy vaping gear, this is what I've ordered:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1451812 Chi-You Clone

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1501000 Kick

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1481600 The Rocket

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1229701 Charger

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1141100 Batteries

If the batteries don't come through, I can find them on eBay, so I'm not too worried there. Asked that they pack one in the Chi-You and the other in the charger, in case that might help slip them past the HKP thugs.

The Chi-You says it'll take up to 84mm, so with those 3400mAh batteries at 65mm + the Kick at 17.5mm, I should be OK! All this for less than $60 shipped seems like a damned good deal to me.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I have both, and while the Hercules seems to be a little bit better on the machining everything else is just the same.

At the same price the hercules is a clear winner but if the price difference is >$20 i think the FT one is a better investment.

did you receive the ithaka clone from VB?

Jim, just a heads up, i also have the same batteries, if you decide to not use the kick in the future.

They have a max discharge rate of 6.8A, using Ohm's Law Calculator with a full battery i wouldn't recommend going below 0.7ohm on your coils so you don't have problems with your battery. (with the kick you won't be able to go below 1.5ohm tho)

Quick edit, if you can accomodate your budget go for a Nitecore charger, they are cheap for what they offer compared to the cheapest chargers on FT. You can also check US vendors or amazon, i think it's not much more expensive than FT.

Yes, it's better imho, and while it doesn't have the 510 adapter, everything i can check seems to point out it's a RH clone and the fact that they never restocked might be a sign that RH doesn't sell to them anymore for selling too low.

Mind you, while i say it's better, i believe it's better at the same price when the price gap increases i'd rather get the FT one for less money unless you are willing to pay more for the brushed finish.(nevertheless i went and bought a kfl and a russian this week so i'm not one to talk about prices :p)

You want to use 18500's or 18490's with the kick in an 18650 battery tube (might be a tight fit with the kick...possible maybe, not sure never tried it)

RDTvapors...
I use these 18650 in my Vamo V3...these should work perfectly in a mechanical...and you will get them pretty darn quick!
Batteries : Efest IMR 18500 Flat Top is what you should get if you plan to kick it

Hi Jim,
Just a repeated warning...
Ebay is the wild west, especially for batteries. Fakes, duds and re-branded scrap are very common. It can be dangerous.
Unless you are getting batteries from a known, reliable ebay seller (if such a thing exists), steer clear of ebay for batteries. I don't say this lightly, I buy lots of stuff from ebay... just never batteries. No way.

If you are every to save a few bucks, don't do it on batteries or chargers. I don't think this can be overstated or repeated too often.
Get yourself not just a decent charger, but a good one. It will save your batteries and serve you well. The Efest LUC is now out in a 4-bay version and I am seeing them for 30 bucks. It's a great charger, 100% automatic and even gives you a visual LCD readout of charge levels. It also comes with a car adapter.
Fasttech also now sells the Xtar VP1 for a very low price and it is verified genuine, not a fake. This is the favorite charger of many people including myself. My batteries are always at room temperature while charging. Both the Efest and the XTar have LCD readouts which is nice. The XTar has a manual setting for .25, .50 and 1.0 amps. This is VERY nice and is why it's my favorite charger... I get to choose. The EFest is automatic, it starts out 1amp and gradually decreases to .25 as the battery charges to keep it cooler. Batteries charging on the Efest get very mildly warm. On the Xtar, they never get above room temperature if you stick with the .25amp setting like I do. Heat is one of the worst enemies of a battery.

If you cannot get the Panasonic through customs, get some IMR AW's or Efest (the red ones) from RTD vapor. AW's and Efest are quite commonly faked as well: RTD is a know authorized dealer and reseller of AW so you know what you are getting.
It's real important to understand the world of cells.
If I can get these, anyone can: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1616/10004244/1323901

I'm not trying to sound like a know-it-all, party pooper, I just get a little concerned sometimes. We tend to start taking safety for granted over time and I'm guilty of it myself. If you are going to be using mechs with these type of cells, an accident can happen very quickly and without warning after many months of trouble-free use. We should be ready for action every time we press the button... Using quality IMR batteries reduces the risks and also reduces the volatility of an accident when something does go wrong or short out.
Also, consider adding one of these to your FT order: https://www.fasttech.com/products/2183/10005002/1391601

Oh yea, one more thing to consider: FT shipping is free, so order your cells on an order separate from everything else just in the case that HK Post kicks it back. Then at least, the rest of your stuff will keep moving.

Better order the btteries separately....good chance you wont get them and the other things will come on through. Free shipping so Its not like its costing you to be cautious.

I've got an item on my wish list with a 'sold out' banner $40.57 KSD Kmax Variable Voltage Mod / E-Cigarette Battery Compartment - VV / VW / brass / telescoping at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Does anyone know if sold out items are ever restocked, or expected to restock?

I had a large order waiting to be placed, but was waiting for the same item. Wrote to Fastech and they said it would be several months before they got them back in stock. Found a brand new one on ebay for the same price, although stainless and ordered that one. It is a great little device, and unlike my Vamo which will not run with protected batteries, does not seem to care what battery you throw on it. It's a single button menu system and has vv and vw similar to the zmax. Fit and finish seem to be great, but it is a bit on the hefty side.

The best price I have seen for it from a US supplier is $25 more. I am now awaiting a large order from Fastech for other stuff, but other than my order confirmation, have heard nothing back from them.

Anyone else having issues with their tracking numbers? I have three orders that shipped about a week ago that say tracking isn't available on the USPS site when I enter the numbers.

Tracking can be very unreliable, my last parcel sat in acceptance the changed directly to shipped overseas the day before it arrived at my door. Usually takes nearly a week to appear with HK Post.
