Just wanted to share my experience, battery order from 10/18 still doesn't show in HKP site and it probably won't appear ever. I knew this could happen, the batteries will show up when they show up or maybe i'll get a refund somewhere down the road :p

I made a test order using Swiss Post 2 days ago, batteries, aluminium project box, switches, and a battery box, still does not appear on any tracking site; we'll see how that goes.

I know there are a lot of people ...... with FT right now, but i bought an original Kayfun Lite + batteries from a US vendor last week. The package arrived today at my forwarders office in Miami.
While they charged my card for the full amount, the only items on the box are the batteries, even the invoice says 4 x Efest etc etc, shipping, ~$50 (instead of around ~120).

..... happens, Murphy is everywhere(check Murphy's Law on the "internets"), i'm already talking with them and i have no doubts that the issue will resolve itself.

Just wanted to share and note that not only Asia has these kinds of problems these days.

Move then...

How ya been Ref?

I don't need the cheap postage that badly :)

Things are ok, even a few people here talking about products rather than their own personal shipping trivia. Got a great price on the VTR and what appears to be a very nice looking SS Kayfun clone for $20 if it's anywhere near the original it will be a real bargain. Excuse me I need to Jedi meditate my way past the urge to check the tracking.

I should be getting a KFL and a Russian91% next week, i'll do a full comparison when i get the clone from FT. Btw, they auto upgraded my KayFTun 3.1 clone to SGP, they probably know i get my packages in from SGP in less than 10 days :p

I've decided to just do a screenshot of the shipping page from now on - for each order. That way I will know how many times I check it and how often it is changed... I don't see myself checking tracking as often if I have a a file of 30 JPGs :p

The reluctance for US companies to export transcends governments, it has been going on for decades. I think it is just more noticeable since the internet opened up other markets.

Companies like Fasttech are just exploiting these opportunities. For many of us living overseas, buying US products just isn't an option. Most companies just can't be bothered to use paypal, and fill out a simple customs declaration. This mindset is very detrimental to the deficit.

I'd like to see a campaign "Patriots export". If you grow your US business with exports, there will be less demand for companies like Fasttech, and volume will help you remain competitive globally.

The expression: "fat, dumb and happy" comes to mind when thinking of US Businesses. The American market is so big that shipping overseas is not necessary. It seems like too much of a chore to them. Sure, the big multi-national corporations have figured it out. But, small and mid-sized businesses only look for reasons why shipping overseas is too costly or too risky.

I got a 8" version a few months ago. Be prepared to wipe it to get rid of ALL the Chinese bloatware. I also have WiFi issues with mine. Can sit next to the router and it will randomly drop...

Having discovered that I am a little old lady with hi-tech pretensions, last night I learned how to "flash" new "custom firmware" onto mine so that the homepage et al would look the way I wanted it to. It worked!!!! I can now dream of a future as a slightly insane senior citizen geek. :)

Mini-Review: Very honestly, I am thoroughly impressed with my tablet and how it functions. The image quality is beautiful, the WIFI totally normal, the touch screen very responsive, downloading apps super-fast... iFive is a manufacturer with an excellent reputation in Europe and I think they deserve it.

But do your homework: if FT says there is only a Chinese manual, be prepared to do some personal sleuthing to figure out how to get to the "Change language" screen. If you don't like a manufacturer's preset apps and stuff, figure out how to install different firmware...kinda like learning to rebuild a coil. :)

Anyway, so far I am very, very happy with this little guy.

There's a little more to it than that.
No business would snub their noses at a sale or a global market in which to sell, it's the risks involved. There is no recourse if you ship 100 bucks worth of stuff to someone in another country and they do a charge-back on you. It's a bigger problem than most people think. One chargeback can eat the profits from 20 other sales combined. It's usually just not worth the risk.
the other reason is dealing with customs and export. It's expensive, time-consuming and attracts a LOT of attention that many people don't want.

My Nemesis Clone isnt gonna be ready to ship untill 11/12 according to the site but my Nimbus Clone is ready. I dont understand why it takes 2 weeks if it showed it was in stock at the time of the order and still does.

Just checked this morning and its ready to ship and being packaged. Now the fun really begins, lol.

My current order, compared to some people, is probably "on schedule"; been showing accepted at HK since the 21st.

I went and bit the bullet on another order.

I wanted to see if this new order will make it here faster, so I bought a K100 and a turbine RBA. Paid extra to boost shipping up a level.
I had two orders accepted on the 25th, 26th arrive yesterday and today.

I have three more (one accepted on the 20th, others 21st) that are still caught up in the HKP worm hole:facepalm:

I've got a mod and some batteries in my cart right now....

Estimated ship date displays as November 22. Is that for real? Three week wait to ship?

Lately they have been listing items with 10+ days for stock, i ordered my kayfun clone on the 22nd but it won't ship until the 8th. Check how many days it says it will be in stock.

You pretty much just made my point for me. Everything you said would apply to a company from another country (ex: FastTech) that ships to America. Only difference is that America businesses are too lazy to bother.

For a small shop there just isn't any profit in it. With risks/customs/man hours there is just no profit to be had.

There are barriers to exporting, whether it be government or other, that effectively makes it silly to export unless it large enough to cover those costs.

I have been waiting patiently for 20 years for cuban cigars to be allowed again.
