I have worked in electronics, I would advise against plugging a 500mAh (0.5A) device into a 2A power source, (unless each port is regulated to 0.5A) it may work but it will reduce the life of your batteries and charger and could pose a fire risk. you can charge 4 ego batteries at once on it without any problems whatsoever, as the 2A will be split 4 ways.

i dont have much knowledge in electronics

but i know that there is no fire risk if we charge a 1000mA phone battery with 2A charger (all the extra mA is just rejected by the phone)
there is fire risk when we use 500mA charger to charge a 1000mA phone battery (it try to pull the extra mA )

i thought that same is applicable to our ego chargers:facepalm:

Some of these ego batteries available now are cheap Chinese copies and may not have the same build quality or level of protection as an original branded product, in all probability it will work OK, but it will be detrimental to the long term life of the battery, the risk of fire maybe quite small at these low power levels, but you cannot guarantee that when you are potentially pumping 4X the amount of power in than what the battery is designed to take, there is quite a bit of tolerance but 4X is pushing it a bit.

OK - I guess we should and will not go with doing that, then. No-one wants to set their house on fire (except really stupid arsonists).

I guess I was lucky even though I had an item that had to be switched because the color I ordered was out of stock and my package was missent to wrong city in CA I got the order today in theail and I ordered it on the 20th. It was a large order too. 19 items.. So far everything seems to look pretty decent.. As I try out everything I will put some product reviews up on this thread..

Same here, I have just added some juice, some battery spacers, some needle tip bottles and a digital multimeter to my cart, but haven't checked out yet though.

Sent from my Gramophone using a 78rpm record.

You might want to skip the needle tip bottles. I got 2 of them and the needles move up and down inside the casing. . Not sure how leakproof they are yet..

My tracking is really inaccurate. It says that my package is still in New York and today USPS tried to deliver it to my home in Cali, but of course I didn't know and now I have to wait until monday to pick it up at the post office :glare:

Mine says Hong Kong, maybe its on the moon. :)

I have had this same issues when ordering from American Vendors (clothing, etc) and shipping through USPS. Sometimes it says delivered at 10am and its not actually delivered until a couple days later. I didn't have this issue till I moved to LA (before I lived in a less urban area)

Does that mean FT shipments route through New York first? That would be awesome.

Nothing happening until after the 3rd, but, every little bit helps.

OK, this guy just showed up on the page. I swear it wasn't there before. Will this work? It's a little cheaper.

$5.58 2.4A USB Power Adapter/Wall Charger (US Plug) - Apple compatible interchangeable AC plug at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

It is rated at 1.6A which is too low for a 2A device, however FastTech's own QC have conducted its own tests which are as follows.....

FastTech QA tests (2/16/2013):
This adapter can produce a sustainable output current of 1.9A +/- 0.1A

That would be enough to run the 2A passthrough, the only thing is that it cannot be guaranteed that all samples will be able to achieve these test results. if you have a multimeter or voltmeter you could test it yourself and see how it performs.

Too late, the order is in, at that price it doesn't really matter if they don't last long though, a little drop of superglue on the point where the needle meets the plastic might cure that if it is a problem.

Thanks for taking the time Mark. I just read the discussion bit on this product and it seems this almost identical unit puts out a little bit more so I just added it to my cart and it will be in my next order, should do the trick.

What about us slobs/hoarders, we need a good house cleaning too.

Couple that with USPS has been having major problems lately with their whole tracking and incoming billing estimates for shopping carts going down.
