I don't have a lot of surplus cash. I have thought how gratifying it would be to puchase a cheap handgun, dismantle it to its smallest components, smash them to hell with a sledge hammer, and then toss those fragmented bits into the bay. It would make me feel good.

Naturally, I'd prefer to do that with some state of the art semi-automatic modified to full auto. But, that's too expensive for a demonstration.

I couldn't even fathom what a cheap handgun did to you that would bring such a spiteful fantasy to mind. Hopefully you'll get your revenge on that cheap handgun and feel much better.

Don't forget to get your Class 3 before you do that full auto conversion and fill out all the paperwork and proof of destruction for the ATF if you do the second. They get real nasty if the paperwork is not correct.

If you ever find yourself up near central Indiana, give me a "hollar" and we'll head to the range so you can get some good practice in.

Any 1911 shooters?

Had a chance to handle a Springfield XD Tactical Thursday night. Wow, that was fun. Kept all the holes in a space that could be covered with a nickel with the standard iron sights.

First 1911 frame type pistol I have ever handled that felt that nice and handled so well. (I mean they are reliable and easy to adjust to, but never one before that after the first shot I actually said "WOW" out loud.)

Just cannot decide if I should trade for one, or save up longer and buy one out right.

and I bought my wife a Ruger MKII .22 for Christmas.

I have my CPL and I'm just waiting for a new holster to come in and I'll probably start carrying more.

Years ago I had an ex girlfrind who I am still friends with. Well: she was having some "boy trouble" (as in stalking ) I got her a Mossburg pump shotgun but in .410 ga MUCH easier to control and present for lighter framed persons than a 12 Ga (shes about 5'3 and 110lbs; knows how to shoot but didnt own and could not afford protection at the time ) The .410 throws 3 or 4 balls of OO buck shot which equates to being shot with 3 or 4 balls from a civil war 44 cal muzzle loading pistol... All at the same instant...PLENTY NUF even through a door...

I have a few of your basic rifles, shotguns and handguns not much worth mentioning, but this is the first gun I ever shot when I was 7yo and handed down to me. The ole timers here might recognize it. Its a 9 shot H&R Sportsman double action and fires .22LR only. I believe it was made in the mid to late 50's, I think my dad said he bought it in 1958 to target shoot rats in the barn. I think it was like a hardware store gun but it still shoots damn straight.

Thanks ZERO...Dad did take good care of it. My son shot it last summer and he was 9yo so maybe he will be telling the same story 50 years from now.

Here is one of the "bullets" of the gun I have in the under a camo tarp back yard pointing down the long driveway. I put a 12 gauge shell beside it for comparison. Anyone want to guess?

Is that an artillery shell? Not too familiar with them, but looks a lot like the shells used for the cannons of tanks.
If I were to take a guess, I'd say that is a 155mm High Explosive Artillery shell. Meaning you would have a nice 155mm cannon pointin down your driveway.

Also, if you put a frozen orange in a potato cannon you can blow off more than a toe
