While I am aware that this thread will mostly apply to those of us in the United States, I've always found firearms discussions to be very enlightening, educational and idea inspiring.

DISCLAIMER : THIS THREAD IS NOT HERE IN ORDER TO START A DEBATE OVER GUN CONTROL, GUN VIOLENCE, DRACONIC LAWS, CRIME RATES, SHOOTING SPREES, POLITICS, FIREARMS BANS, ETC

This thread is to discuss firearms and the shooting, thereof.

So, who here owns a firearm? What kind do you own? Do you own more than one? What have you fired? Do you currently possess a concealed carry permit?

I'll start. I own firearms. In the past I have owned several handguns and rifles (9mm to .45 and .22 - .300 win-mag). I currently own an S&W Military and Police series .40 (full size) and a kel tek pocket .32

Here's a pic of the .40

And here's a pocket .32 (not mine but the same brand / model)

KelTecP32-1.jpg

I have fired MANY different handguns, rifles, assault rifles, sub-machine guns and machine guns.

My next purchase will most likely be a DPMS .308 Assault Rifle

I'm also a Red White and Blue member at Scottsdale Gun Club where I can often be found putting rounds down-range or drooling over their selection of firearms and accessories.

So who's next?

All tho my full auto BB gun is much much more fun lol

Shoots at 350Feet Per Sec 6mm and will Dump 100BBs in about 30secs It will pop holes in a full pop can(the thick area of pop cans not the soft area alone) around 50-100Feet away so I know if I shot someone 5-10 feet away with it ROFL. They may not die but it would @%#%ing hurt really if I hit them in the head with it too!

I know the Squeals hate it lol, but they are around 200 feet away or so.....they always come back for more the next day(I have had a war with them all summer dumping around 2000-4000 BBs a week LOL)

These are easy to mod to 550FPS LOL which is half the speed of a 22 soooo just think full auto at that speed:evil:

For 3500USD you can own one of these babies LEGAL because it's a dang BB GUN ROFL You could mount it on the back of your truck or on your front porch:evil: I myself would loves to have one of these.....

I have owned a S&W .357 Magnum, a Ruger P89 (9mm), and a Glock 21 (.45) in the past. I currently only own a Glock 27 (.40).

I traded the Glock 21 in on the 27 with an eye towards a CCP, but then realized that for the most part, when I'm carrying, I want it to be seen. Carrying thousands of dollars worth of equipment out of a bar at 2am, plus a pocket full of cash from just being paid... I like any potential thieves to see a firearm on my hip. It's come in handy a couple of times. Never had to draw, thankfully.

As I'm retired miilitary, I've fired... oh geez... .38, .9mm, M16 rifle, riot shotguns, M203 & M79 grenade launchers, LAW rockets, and I was the M-60 machine gunner on my security detail for years.

I understand your stance on the CCP, Walrus. I have one for the fact of being able to walk in to the grocery store, mall, wal-mart, taco bell, steak house, etc...and not have people giving me glances or being skittish.

Also, if worse comes to worse, I'd rather anyone that may be going to do drama NOT see me as a primary target. Out of sight, out of mind, etc...

LOL... there was one time that I decided on my way home from the gig to stop for breakfast. I went into a Waffle House, sat down with a friend, and then realized that I was still strapped. I not quite inconspicuously excused myself from the table and went out to my truck to store it in the glove box. I say 'not quite inconspicuously' because as I reentered, a few folks were laughing. The waitress told me she'd have been happier if I kept it on. Legally, I could have... but I'm not out to start a ruckus.

Louisiana law allows for open carry most places, but not bars, banks, government buildings, parades... actually, pretty much the same places where you can't carry with a CCP either. I've gone for rides on my bike while carrying with a thigh holster.

AZ is the same way...You can open carry anywhere you can concealed carry...and people often do.

I sport a Blackhawk close-quarters concealment rig most of the time but I also have a small-of-the-back kangaroo style holster.

Here's my main rig (and my every-day carry gear)

There are certainly places where I *won't* go if I'm not strapped but 99% of the time I don't even think about the fact that I'm carrying...It's natural to me, now.

Thanks... If I remember right, these Golden Sabers are 165 grain, the 180's are police issue.

The holster is a Blackhawk SERPA, close quarters concealment.

I keep a spare mag in the glove box, but honestly... if I've gone through 11 .40 cal hollow points, and they are still coming.... I'm getting the hell out of there anyway.

I won't be posting any pics but I've got a decent collection. I've got a conceal carry license and regularly carry both a Bulgarian Makarov 9X18mm and a Springfield XD40 with a Streamlight M6X attached to the rail, I've got a nice Falco shoulder rig with molded leather paddles that fit both these sidearms, and mag pouches as well. You know, just in case someone decides to get stupid. :D

Armalite AR15 Vietnam era military issue is my fav rifle atm.

I have a Ruger P85, Walther P22 and a full auto UZI.

I inherited this from a relative. It is totally legal to own here in NV. I just had to fill out a ton of paperwork, pay a $200 tax and wait a couple months for it to be legal but there is no special license needed to own a full auto weapon. I have only fired it a few times at an indoor range and its tons of fun to shoot.

Am I the first woman to post in this thread? Surely there are more women out there who vape and shoot....:D My favorite is my snub nose .38. I do not currently have a concealed weapons permit but do not carry as such. If you were to come in my house you would then meet my little friend. We also have shotguns, .22 rifles, BB guns (pistols and rifles) and some other pistol types (not sure exactly what all they are - they stay looked up in the safe). We recently inherited two and they quickly made it to the safe until we can have someone who knows more about them than we do look at them.

My father was in law enforcement for over 35 years and is an avid gun collector. I shot a muzzleloader at the age of seven and boy did it kick ~ bruised my shoulder!! I was taught to respect weapons from a very early age.

You guys are lucky I'm in the Socialist Republic of Kalifornia and the gun laws are ridiculous here....

I just own an old turk mauser that is actually pretty decent - got a few right on target at 100 yards with the crappy sights.... pistols aren't for me - my dad has a .40 S&W sigma and we have 3 .22 rifles. I own a cheap chinese air rifle ($40 B-4-2) with a tasco scope and it was accurate within less than 1/2 inch at 25 yards far better than the sigma and all the .22 rifles scoped....

Mamacat you are not alone! Grew up with guns, and have the utmost respect for them. I own a Taurus 9mm that I carry, I do have a concealed permit. My skunk gun is either my little old 22 or my Remington 870 magnum, (youth model cause I'm kinda short in the arms). I also have a really pretty Ruger 243 with a manlicker(sp) stock, wood all the way down the barrel. Ok guys straighten me out on the spelling or name of this.LOL My brother has a HK s.a. that is really fun to shoot, damn thing is heavy though. I had a Colt 38 police positive that was in a shoot out with Gordon Kohl, the tax protester, but I gave it to my dad for Xmas one year. Soon as I get done spending all my money on vapin stuff I would like to find something smaller to carry. Anyone have suggestions? I manager a liquor store so 'it' would be with me all the time.

I guess I'm the 3rd woman to add my 2 cents? I learned to fire weapons while in the Air Force and found that I was an expert shot on the standard .38 and the M-16. I received a small arms medal that my young USAF firefighting son has frustrating been unable to match. It has become a fun filled competitive issue in which I tease him about not only being outgunned by a girl...but his mommy too! The standard refrain of "this is my weapon this is my gun, this is for shooting this is for fun" was jokingly altered to add "except when females are armed with a loaded gun".

When I fired the Gau-5 (short barrel M-16) the sucker smacked me in the face while in the prone position. I developed humility and a healthy respect for weapons.

I have 2 automatic peashooters- a .22 and .25. I'm going to join a gun club and will be researching for a handgun that fits in my small hands. The dirty Harry .45 was so large that I had to fire with both hands on the weapon. Any advice???:D
