Thought I'd share my first 24hrs.
Bought an eGo-w starter kit, two units with charger, carrying case and menthol liquid, 24mg nicotene. Was a pack and a half smoker for over 40 years. I'll put in a plug for Elite Vapors for all of their help.
Really surprised at the first hit, of course I took too long of a pull, but was surprised at how close to an analog it was.
I know I'm not smoking a real cigarette and realize I have to get used to not getting the "same" taste.

What I find most about the taste is a slight plastic aftertaste. Is this normal or just a result of the particular blend I'm using?

Another issue I have is the oily residue. Is this typical and something I need to get used to? I'm sure it's not nearly as harmful as the smoke I've been filling my lungs with for so many years.

The first thing in the morning "smoke" is what I was looking forward to. Got my coffee and went out on the deck with my new "rig" and was not dissapointed at all. Took a little too big of a hit the first time but then set in for that morning rush.

I'm still on the original charge. Was told to drain the batt down all the way before giving it a full charge. I was expecting that to happen within a few hours but am now 26hrs on the same charge.

Overall I am really impressed with the transition. I have not had an urge to pick up an analog. Playing around with the amount of vapor, and how deep I draw it to learn where my comfort level is going to be. I like the fact of not having to "smoke" for the five to seven minutes it takes to down an analog. (The wife is watching to see how successful I'll be, she has seen me "quit" many times)

To answer your flavor qustion.. it could be the belend or it could be the *omizer (clearomizer, atomizer, cartomizer etc) you are using.. You are also rebuilding your taste buds so your taste may be a slightly off.
Abou the battery. If it's a joyetech eGo battery.. it's a lithium ion so feel free to charge it whenever you want.. it's actually worse for LI-Ion batteries to be drained fully.

Congrats on quitting.. vaping is tons of fun as you start to try different equipment and flavors.

Yea probably not real familiar with that one. Some will when you first use the atty. Usually that goes away. at least it did on mine.
Glad to have you on ECG. Welcome. Glad your taking the plunge into vapor. Just to let you know what helped me I moved to nontobacco flavors very quick and the result was I already am becoming one of THOSE EX SMOKERS. LOL I find the idea of that taste nasty now. Keep it up. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. No stupid questions on here. Except the one(s) you don't ask. LOL

I'm not sure about the Ego W, but the Ego T (atomizer and tank system) came with a primer fluid on the atomizer to keep it from corroding in transit/storage. That fluid needs to be blown out before fisrt fill. It's not dangerous, just doesn't taste very good. :) If not, it is probably something that will go away shortly. Most of my equipment has a short break in period before it becomes really fantastic. :)
