A Quick Note from the Manufacturers and Suppliers of Electronic Smoking devices and Liquids:

The Manufacturers and Suppliers of electronic smoking in North America are meeting April 11th-12th, 2009 in Chicago. Here, we will discuss the future of the electronic smoking industry and develop our industry's Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers. There are currently 25 participating manufacturers and suppliers.

This two day conference/meeting will focus on many topics which will include and are not limited to proper marketing practices and safety standards. As a unified group, we will work on a public education campaign as well as many other activities to help promote esmoking as an alternative to tobacco smoking.

We do hope that the forum members will see this as a step in the right direction. :)

Lacey,

This is a great idea. I am very impressed. Maybe we could create a association of e-smokers in which users, manufactures and retailers could join and raise money to further our fight to keep e-cigs legal. Political parties have it, why can't we. I bet there are a lot of members here that would happily donate money to help fight a good cause.

Money = Power :evil:

Right to Vape is working on the user end, our association will focus on the suppliers and manufacturers and hopefully, the two will coexist together to reach the same goal. We are discussing fund-raising opportunities because there is definitely a great pool of passionate people here at the forum who we know would love to help keep their ecigs between their fingers!

To answer to Kate: No. Lots have shown interest and it is just hard to get from one side of the pond to the other.... so if they can conference in, they will be able too... I would like to see an Association that is comprised of ALL manufacturers and suppliers no mater where they are located. This is just the start and I believe the majority is NA.

Why restrict it to North America if others are interested. I know it makes sense if you are going to have physical meetings to have them where it's most convenient for the majority but I'm just a bit disappointed that it's exclusive and not seen as an international network.

I also think it's a pity that you are only going to represent electric powered 'cigarettes' and smoking - I thought I'd quit for a different habit. I guess butane powered vaporisers won't be of interest to you ever?

"The Manufacturers and Suppliers of electronic smoking in North America"

It's for North Americans, it's about smoking and concerned with electrically powered devices.

It doesn't sound inclusive, representative, or forward thinking, just the same old straitjacket problems.

It's great to hear that commercial interests are getting together and I fully support any effort to co-operate. Presenting this as innovation - the thread is called The Future of Ecigs - well, maybe I've become cynical with all the hype I've been exposed to .

Sorry for not being a happy bunny for you, ecigs might not have a future.

I agree with Kate,

this should be a worlwide organization.

This should be made up of Manufacturers and suppliers,
without the Manufactureres in agreement, and compliance,
nothing will be achieved.

If you had arranged this as a video conference,
everyone in the world could have joined in,
restricted to invitation to controll the numbers,
Skype would have been the ideal setup for this.

ORGANIZATION OF E-SMOKING ?????????
I thought you had all decided to call it --
VAPING AND PERSONAL VAPORIZERS ....
With E-Smoking, it logically follows, -- E-CIGARETTES

So what was all the --
LETS CALL IT SOMETHING ELSE HYPE ????????????
