With the new Federal laws and taxes that are sure to come, my guess if that vaping will evolve to the point where companies virtually give away personal vapors and spend most of their resources on the ejuice side of things. Maybe even like cell phone companies where you basically get a free phone, in return for a term of service. In any event, what you will immediately see is a complete vanishing of small companies to be replaced by a select few that have the financial backing and the days of rapid innovation and consumer input into vaping will be gone. You will vape their crap and like it.

Be prepared to have to register to own a vaping device, and to pay upwards of $20 for 10ml of juice.

It's coming. Only the foolish would think otherwise. The gubment is like the mafia, exactly like the mafia. They will squeeze money out of you every way they can. That's reason # 1 our economy is in the toilet. Just the past actions and behavior of our federal government, with the taxing and regulation, is severely limiting American investment in ecigs. And that's just with ecigs. It's that way in every other area of our economy as well. It's the price we pay for elections won on populist platforms and for living in an entitlement society. I'm not trying to be overtly political, but that's the reality of it.

I don't think the innovations will quit. Perhaps for our country, but China is all in on the E-cig train afterall that's where a lot of the devices are coming from. We just may not have access to them anymore.

As to the subscription method, there are a lot of companies that do this already. The cig-a-likes get the device free and sign up for a monthly membership to be sent cartridges.

Got me wondering, what exactly is the procedure they use to extract the nicotine from the tobacco leaves? How hard would it be to create your own nic from tobacco leaves?

Innovation will continue, new mods will be developed as will new delivery systems. There is no way to make the devices themselves illegal. Same with the PG and VG liquids, all they can really regulate is the nicotine juice itself. I am sure we will see taxes on that and even laws prohibiting online sales of the nicotine.

People have been saying "it's coming" for years now. It hasn't and if there is some regulation, it won't really effect the way we do things. The government has done some dumb things, but its not as though they are after your freedom or liberty. Obama won't be coming to take your guns or PVs, keep calm and carry on.
