God, I freaking LOVE Texas. We can hunt with suppressors now.

Congrats on that success in changing the law.

Why suppressors are even regulated at all is beyond me. We are required by law to put mufflers on our cars, motorcycles and even lawn tractors, but we are PROHIBITED by Federal law to use them on our firerms without paying a $200 tax and getting a "background check". ridiculous...

In many European nations (at least the ones where ordinary citizens are still allowed to own long arms) suppressors are no more regulated than ammunition. You can literally walk into a sporting goods store in Finland and buy a suppressor OTC when you buy your ammo.

Suppressors are SAFETY EQUIPMENT. They protect the ears of the shooter, everyone else on the range, and reduce the noise so that your neighbors a mile away don't have to listen to your afternoon plinking. The de-facto illegalization of suppressors in the US is medically irresponsible, ethically reprehensible and actually CAUSES community tension.

The BATFE is only exceeded in it's social evil and political sociopathy by the FDA--and BOTH agencies need to be either SERIOUSLY reigned in or abolished altogether...

I completely agree with everything you say. Especially the bolded. Back in "the day", you used to be able to by a "gun muffler" in any hardware store. I love suppressors. I have one for my FNP .45 tactical which also works on my 9mms. I have the paper work in for another for my Savage .22 bolt action that will also work on my AR. I should have it in February. I also have the paper work at the ATF for a short barrel for my PS-90. The .22 suppressor will work on the PS-90, also. The .22 suppressor is a Silencerco and the .45 suppressor is an AAC (Advanced Armament Corp).

I'd post pics, but part of the non-revocable trust rules is no pics of NFA items on the 'net. Oh well. It's a TON of fun to shoot them. I'm also an FFL 01 (sales) and FFL 07 (gunsmithing) holder with a Class 3 for the FFL 01 and SOT (Special Operating Tax) manufacturer rider for the FFL 07. So I build quite a few short barreled AR15s and an occasional select fire ARs. Mostly for HPD SWAT. Built a few MP5sd, also. Full auto is a ..... to build. I'm contemplating making my PS-90 a real deal P-90, but I'm not sure if I can find the correct trigger pack with an auto sear. They're rare as hell and cost ~$2,000 just for the trigger pack w/ auto sear.

Nice! I was worried the barrel was shot out.

I have that same holster for my FN FNP.45. Can't remember the name. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of it. I just can't get comfortable. I'm sure I could if I didn't have love handles, though.

If you're looking for a new holster, check out index. Their 'Professional' series is incredibly awesome.

The holster is a Raven concealment phantom.

Ah, I thought it looked familiar. Mine's black and set up for in waistband. Mine is for my FN FNP.45 w/ Trijicon RMR red dot. I also have the RC ACR (Appendix Carry Rig) for the same gun. I really want to try their new Vangaurd 2 for my Glock 30 and Springfield XD sub comact 9mm. http://www.ravenconcealment.com/holsters/vanguard-holster-systems/other-holsters-vanguard-holster

Speaking of my Glock 30, I just installed Trijicon HD night sights, green front and rear w/ yellow outline on the front sight.

They are super bright. Probably the brightest night sights I have. And I have 1 pair of Dawson night sights, 2 Tru glow TFOs, 2 sets of Ameriglow suppressor sights and these Trijicons.

Sorry for the crappy pics. It was difficult while holding the gun and Canon Rebel.

If you need sights installed I can do them for $30. Just send your slide. I don't do Springfield XD, though. The dovetails are notoriously tight.

I LOVE my Eotech. I have the EXPS3-4 and 3x flip to side magnifier. This: Amazon.com: Eotech EXPS3-4 Holographic Weapons Sight: Sports & Outdoors

And this: Amazon.com: EOTECH GEN 3 MAGNIFIER STS MNT BLK: Sports & Outdoors

You can see the in the pic of my Colt AR15 above. I can shoot to 450 yards with that optic setup.

I have Troy flip up backup iron sights. Round aperture in the rear and the H&K reticle on the front flip up. And they have tritium inserts in them. Very nice kit! These: http://www.brownells.com/rifle-part...-m16-folding-battle-sight-sets-prod55031.aspx

Also, Aimpoint makes good optics. The PRO, or Patrol Rifle Optic is great. I bought it for my PS-90, but it mounted too high, so I sold it.

Primary Arms makes good optics too if you're on a budget.

Hey guys and gals have any of you used James at xd-hs2000.com for gun coating? It looks like he does great work. I have a 1911 slide I would like coated in the titanium color. Thanks

James does fantastic work!

XDS in Leupold bronze:

I think it turned out awesome! I am a little ...... about the screw up, though. Bamrz, you work for a post office, correct?

XD sub-compact 9mm with Leopuld gunkote slide.
Untitled-3.jpg

He did all of those. He's the guy I send all my customer's guns that want a paint job.

What kind of gun? While the slide is with him, you should get night sights. He has the lowest prices and installs for free if you buy them from him.

PLEASE!!!! Tape your boxy up way more than you think you need to. Also insure it USPS somehow ripped my box, an XDS, XDm and Speingfield EMP (9mm micro 1911) all feel on to the concrete. The EMP got so messed up! James tried to fix it, and did a great job with how it looks. But the barrel lockup and slide fit are so off that ~7 shots out of the 9 in the mag have a major failure to return to battery. And on a 1911, barrel to slide lock up is essential to accuracy.

The Titanium color is nice! You might also consider the new color "Leupold Bronze". It's a dead ringer for, you guessed it, Leupold's bronze color. Here's an XDS in L. Bronze and another in Titanium.

This is James' pic:

A $1,200 gun; ruined. Stupid me, I didn't insure the package. And Springfield doesn't just sell slides.

Thanks for the feedback and pics Shatner. Those look great! I won't be putting night sights on my 1911 as I don't plan on ever carrying it. My 1911 is a Brolin Arms, was a gift from my dad, has all the goodies on it and he did the trigger for me. It shoots great, just don't like that the frame (black) don't match the slide. I think the titanium color would look cool. I would definately like night sights for my XDs. Which sight is on your XDs?

After using the XDS with Truglo Tritium/Fiber Optic (TFO) sights and my Glock 30 with Trijicon HD sights, I'm going to say, imo, the Triji HDs are superior sights. The only advantage of the Tru-glows is that they glow in daylight due to the fiber optics. But its really not any disadvantage to not having them.

I'll be switching all my Tru-glo TFO sights for Trijicon HD in the near future. Don't get me wrong; TFO are still great sights. But I like the Trijis more.

I freaking scored huge today!!!

I got a Mosin Nagant M44 carbine. It's in perfect condition. A couple little dings in the stock, but what do you expect with a nearly 60 year old weapon. The bore is in beautiful shape, bayonnet included, as well as the cleaning rod (usually they are lost) and an issued cleaning kit.

The action is smooth as sild and the rifling looks like it's never been shot.

The stock is gorgeous:

Bayonet:
mosinandlevergun005_zpsa0496ff6.jpg

It came with a cleaning kit and the cleaning rod, which 99% of the time is damaged or missing. Not mine. :)

I also got a Rossi .357Mag lever gun. :D

I also bought 5 13rd 9mm Springfield XDm mags and 5 Glock 33round 9mm mags. :D
