Which twins
I was about to say "the ones that can fit in each hand with lasers", but I figured that wouldnt help my arguement any.

Nice!!! I need one.
Yes. Yes you do.

Very nice! You're going to love your XD. Are you planning on using it just for range time and home defense? Or are you going to carry?
Range and home defense. SC laws are that restrictive, but they are very different from NC law. And since I spend a lot of time in Charlotte, its not going to be worth the hassle. At least not yet.

NC and SC are Reciprocal states. That means that if you have a NC CC card, you can carry in SC and vise versa. Now, if you take a class in SC and get an SC license, it's on you to know NC's laws. As they are different and each class will only teach their laws. Just an FYI. :)

If someone breaks into your house in SC, you can shoot them. No needless "retreat" clauses. If they are in your home with intentions to commit burglery or any other felony crime, you have the right to defend yourself and your property with deadly force. You are protected by law against any court action against you. Whether its from the person that broke in, or their family, you cant be charged with even justifed homicide.

NC, if someone breaks into your house, you have to put down your firearm and help them load your property.

Ok, so maybe its not that extreme, but its close. If someone breaks into your home in NC, you have to retreat to a safer location. And ONLY if they come after you, and ONLY if they show ill intent, are you allowed to shoot them.

And as I stated, I have no need or desire to carry. I cant carry at work (company policy), and thats really the only time I ever come to NC.

Oh, btw...Daily Caller is running a contest for a free gun! It's called the "Gun Giveaway!" They will be giving away one FMC 9mm (The one with the Bill of Rights engraved on it) each week 'till election day! You don't have to sign up for anything. Just an e-mail addy and name and verify your 21 or over. Made in Kommiefornia so, only a 10 shot clip but hey...it's FREE! And a pretty stout little 9mm. - I've handled one in person.

Thanks for the link! I signed up.

I have an Armalite AR-50A1 .50 BMG on it's way to me. (AR-50A1 .50 BMG, BLACK).

Customer wants a jeweled bolt, trigger job, fluted barrel and some other stuff done to it. I've never worked on one of these, but have on other Armalite rifles. Guy's willing to drop $5k, but I'm honestly not sure what can be done for that ammount. A bolt jewel and trigger job are going to be ~$2,000. Not sure what else I can do to it. I really need to research and see if I can glass the stock. He also might want a suppressor, but that's not 100% yet. Either way, it will have a 6" group at 1,000 yds when Im finished with it. I test all of my custom weapons and if they don't live up to my standards, I re-do it.

James, You should look at PRP~ Perfecting Your XD/XDM!. They have a drop in trigger kit that is SUPER easy to install. It'll reduce the pre-travel of your trigger by ~75%, lower the pull weight to 4-4.5 pounds and make the reset instant. It's super easy to install; PRP has vids on their sight. Get the 'drop in', as you don't have to fit/file anything.

Also, check out www.xd-hs2000.com. James is good people with the BEST prices on night sights, which I HIGHLY recommend for a HD gun. Buy from him, send your slide to him and he installs for free. You'll have your gun back in 5-7 days. The XD sight dovetails are a ...... They're so damn tight that I ruined several sets of Trijicon night sights before sending it off to him. He also did the Gunkote Leopuld bronze on my XD sub compact. Really good guy with excellent communication.

NO, I don't work for him. Just a very happy custy after having him put night sights on 10 of my pistols and refinishing 3 slides.

For ammo, look at Federal HST jacketed hollow points or Winchester Ranger T-Series 147gr +P+ (+P+ means ~15% higher charge).

This is going to be fun! I also just dropped off some rough forged 1911 frame and slide off at my machine shop. Guy wants a totally custom 10mm(!) 1911. He gave me artistic freedom, so I'm thinking about Gunkoting it KG Gunkotes new Leopuld bronze on the slide and satin black on the frame. He also wants a trigger job and sights. Not sure what kind yet. I'll also be dropping the barrel off at the machinist for an 11* barrel recrown. I also might bob tail the grip for easier concealment.

I'm really thinking of switching things up, making gun smithing my full time gig and glass on the weekend. I can make MUCH more income with 1/2 the work.

OH, V! FYI, I had a Dr. appt today with the surgeon that did my CT surgery. He says it's going to probably be 4-6 more weeks, possibly 8 before I can blow glass. :( Just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgot about you. In fact, I think about the tanks several times a day that will blow every other glass tank out of the f'ing water. :D

Ive been looking at sights online already. Three dot dovetails suck. BUT, all of that has to wait. This purchace really did wipe out my allowance account. I'll look into the websites when I get home. All of them. Our IT guys are wierd out in Denver. We can get on Amazon, Ebay, Facebook, and YouTube at work, but we cant get to any firearm websites.

Imight have a pair of XD night sights laying around. If I find them, I'll send them your way. Just PLEASe(!) don't try to install yourself. Yo run a very good chance of damaging your slide. SA has very tight slide dovetails and slightly larger sight dovetails. It takes a hydraulic press to move them.

However you get the sights; from me for free or having to purchase them, I HIGHLY recommend James at www.XD-hs2000.com (best price on the 'net). He makes a living off installing sights on XD/XDM/XDS. Has a 24hr turnaround and is not too expensive.

Darn it, now I need to go gun shopping.

I was just looking at a Colt Gold Cup 10mm 1911 and a H&K P30 today. Also a Glock sub-compact .45 for daily carry, but I just couldn't afford either. I think my next gun purchase will be the K&K P30. It was just small enough to conceal. But it's a 9mm and I really want another .45 for concealed carry.

What gun(s) are you thinking about?

Forget shopping, I just need to drive to houston and hang out with shatner and his toys :D

If you're ever in Houston, you're more than welcome to come shoot and check out the glass blowing studio.

On another note: I ALMOST picked up an H&K P30 last night. Only thing that caused me not to was the $950 price. I will soon, just not in a place to do it now.
