I used a slight twisting motion to get the plastic piece off. Alternately, if you have a bit of PG around, you could probably drip some in with it held at an angle, rotating it, to act as a lube.

I tried the twisting; no go, but was able to get it off by carefully cutting a small piece with a razor blade, then pulling off. Should the sleeve completely cover the atomizer? I can only get it down so far, there is maybe 1/2 inch or less between the bottom of the sleeve and the flange on the atomizer. No biggie, just curious.

I've measured a lot of i06's and the diameter is very consistent. That being said .005" makes a big difference. I have two attys I test each unit on. On one they go down about half way and the other 7/8ths down. I'm not shipping the ones that don't fit in those parameters. We designed them to fit the 3/4 point as we didn't want them bottoming out and possibly leaking.

Now on the protos I used a round file and it didn't take much to move them down the atty.

Yes they are designed that way JCB

What I do to remove the plastic cover, is screw the i06 into an old 510 manual battery, then just pull off the plastic..pop, I haven't broken anything YET :)

Yes there is a slight gap at the bottom of the sleeve and the flange of the atty, I believe this to be normal. I think if I tried to jam it all the way down to flange, I would never get it off again!

Great! Thanks so much; looking forward to trying it out. Have to wait till lunch time to run to my car :glare: I DO stealth vape at my desk and in the bathroom, but since I'm new to dripping, better safe than sorry :)

Definitely will be ordering more! Did you see my tweet about colors? :p

Cool Z, I'm looking at a 28mm version for the UFS.

BTW try twisting clockwise (you probably have). I fit each one on 2-3 attys to test and the real tight ones twist off for me.
Yeah I generally hand push, and then give it a slight tap. I've noticed that there can be a slight variance on where it secured, so the second one is cut a few mm longer.

I wouldn't worry about making them shorter.. likely longer would be better (ask RippleInStillWater ;) ) . A $10 tool can cut them down as needed for those with special needs; if i can do it, anyone can.

Cut mine down with a tube cutter to fit a UFSv2, and primed it. A few bad hits as I got things tuned and vaping nirvana began. My quest is over, there is no need to look further.

Thank you, Isaac/Wharf

Be cool to see a future design that had an o-ring 'locking' mechanism, but this works, and works well. Only problem is I don't dare remove until the atty dies, else risk damaging the atty.

A limitation I can accept for now.

Did you use a regular pipe cutter used for cutting copper pipe? Didn't think that would work on stainless tubing.

It will be a while but we can do that. Do you think there is a demand for the 28mm?

well, I like the extended mode but there is a thread in the GG subforum about "UFS-discontinued?" and people have finally discovered what I have been preaching about for a few months (and led to a rise in the price of UFSs) -- and your sleeve makes it all the more possible. I would buy (3) 28s and (3) 43s if I had my druthers......:thumb:

Meh.. ;)

I've been buying used UFSs since december.. Holding the same price point. Any rise in price is simply "fools rushing in".. There is still room for reality. Being the brillient horder I am 2 sales are pending iOS + warf.. I was specifically asked about it, and offered price + shipping in the final UFS sale.. I ordered parts and will wait for the top caps to to come in.. sigh.

Back to the original question.. I think those of us wanting something around 28mm are likely few, and and are willing to deal with our special needs. Longer is better as those who need shorter have options, whereas those who need longer are SOL.
