Rm reviews rick vapes at 20 plus watts constantly I just dont undrstand. I t just tastes like ... over about 12 watts for me. Why do you need 20 watts. Are there juices that withstand that kind of heat?

Rick is a pretty knowledgable vaper...and he does NOT skimp on gear.....I do give him props for that.....no matter how "ridiculously low ohms" he vapes at.

This is a great conversation about batteries and safety. Everyone should be aware of all the dangers. However it started with all the newbies getting iHy's. The problem with them is going to be all the Fly Byes. Like I got an iHy. Congrats but we will probably never see them again. They read and hear how great they are so they score one without even knowing how to use it. Me included. But I read, read and then read some more so I know what im doing. Most of the people who are getting these really dont have a clue. If you read some of the posts on Facebook. Most of the posts are about cheap Genesis attys and cheap batteries. Like was said not a clue. Im sure we will all find out about how someone lost their face because the battery blew up in it. Its just a matter of time. To many new Vapors will eventually lead to something bad happening. So if your new and read this EDUCATE YOURSELF before buying a high end Mod.

Well while we can hope it won't happen as it could have a lot of neg impact on all of us the bottom line is, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink

I think I have figured out why amps, watts, volts was so bad juju on the zen thread. With so many other variables it is easy to confuse people. What works well for some might not work for others.

Yes it can be confusing, but it is sorta like a car. Those people who buy a car and never learn anything about it but how to put gas in never reach the same level of enjoyment or use from it as those who take time to at the very least learn the basics.

People that dont know how to use an iHy meens more on Classies... :)

On a lighter note. I think I may have found my new favorite bottom button. I am seriously loving the button on the Macaveli. It has to be the easiest button I have ever pushed. People that have arthritis will love this button. Doesnt take any pressure to fire it at all. Im pretty impressed with the Macaveli. Mac did an outstanding job!! Face your going to love it!! I will be waiting to see what your thoughts about are.

This isnt the place, but since you brought it up... Mac had nothing to do with designing that bottom botton, or much else on the PV.

Not me, yet, but I had no need for them with most of my Mods until now because I just got into rebuildable atomizers in August after about a year of reading up and educating myself on them. Learning everything I could possibly learn about the risks associated with them and how to mitigate those risks effectively. Up until then I stuck with carto tanks and such. Now that I have experimented with these rebuildable atty's and hybrid devices I will most likely invest in some of the fuses just to be even that much more safe.

Sincerely;
Nate

I don't, while IMR batteries do not have any of the protection they are safer than the protected li. Back when I got my iHybrid I asked the guys about things like that and while there is a lot the guys here don't agree on, they each told me it wasn't needed so long as you use the right batteries and you learn what you are doing.

Wouldn't a lot of this already have been known if people read the reference pages? Does everybody just skip this? I was having a lot of hotspot problems, but I sat down with my phone and Envy and read through it all. It worked out.

I read a LOT about batteries before I decided what to get for my first "big battery mod". Start here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html. Also, go to YouTube and watch some of the videos of batteries venting. That was enough to convince me!

Also, buy your batteries from a reputable dealer! There are counterfeits out there, and I would bet they have cut many corners to make it more profitable.

You might pay more for good batteries, but they can last quite a long time with proper care. I use a multimeter on mine to make sure they aren't over-discharged, and also right when they come off the charger. Chargers can malfunction! NEVER take a battery directly from the charger and use it in your PV!!! Rotate them, they will be safer and last longer. I have some AW IMR's that are coming up on 2 years old, and still show no signs of deteriorating.

You can pick up a multimeter from most vendors that sell batteries for between $6-15. My cheapo one just died and I upgraded to a nicer one from NewEgg for not a whole lot. Also, get a decent charger. I have a Pila and an Xtar, and neither one have overcharged my batteries.

To true Nacny. It still wouldnt stop some people from buying anything. Remember the Jam Box looking thing? I forget what it was called. All the videos showed how bad it was made and smashed them on the video and people still bought them. Till the person that made them took them off the site. Guess we are smarter than some people. Do some research and everything else will fall into place.

Another item to consider is the physical condition of your batteries. The wrapper of your batteries is actually an insulator. The shell of most batteries is actually the negative "post"of the battery. The top has another insulator which keeps the positive "post" isolated. Our switches work by contacting the negative post of the battery and creating a circuit using the body of the mod as the negative conductor. If the wrapper of your battery is damaged it can cause inadvertent fireing of your mod.

So....if any new folks are reading or have been reading all this....Lady has put MANY hours into her reference sheet for the convienence of everyone.

It is not like haveing to read War and Peace....it is not filled with very complex and hard to understand info....any of us who have contributed to it have tried to state things in as simple to understand way for everyone. Spend just a few minutes a day reading it and you would be suprised at how fast you will gain the ins and outs of this great new culture happening and the safer way of enjoying it.
