Hmmm... Maybe I need to go visit one of the B&Ms round here, see if I can find a clearomizer that a) works better, and b) I can afford. I'm going to buy a couple of ARO pyrexes if they ever get back in stock at MadVapes; their price is so much lower than anywhere else, I just hate to spend $7.99 for one, when at $5.99, I could afford to get two. Maybe I should just go ahead and buy a red one, which are in stock, and the red/silver would look pretty good on this silver iTaste. Buying the pyrexes is why I wanted the full express kit, so I'd have the iClears for juices that don't crack tanks, but maybe I wasted my money doing that, and I just hate that; wasting money makes me feel sick inside.

Alisa... I don't think this Virginia has any of that tobacco absolute at all; there is zero dirty/smoky taste, just none at all -- even in the iTaste, I don't get that smoky/dirty taste, but I'm definitely getting some sort of vegetative taste. I guess I'll just keep using that Virginia in the eRoll; I especially got some 12mg to mix with my 6mg to vape in the morning; tomorrow is Smoke-Free Day #1 -- thought a slightly higher nic might get me over that first smoke of the day, which is the only one I've had any trouble getting rid of.

Ok, one more question, about the iClears -- I rinsed out the two I've tried, and have them set to dry. That second one, that I thnk I may have gotten some e-juice into that tiny hole, well it might just be trashed. But I know I didn't get any into the other one, so it should still be workable once it dries -- about how long do they take to dry, and do I need to wait till it's fully dried out before using it again?

Thx y'all!!!! mwa!

Just rinsing the Iclear and letting it dry should be fine. You might have burnt the wick/coil but I dry burn mine after cleaning between flavors, so I don't think that is the problem. When dry (24 hrs? to make sure they are good and dry), fill without getting any juice in the center hole. Let them sit for 15-20 minutes at least. I often wait an hour or so.

I am not a fan of Iclears either but I received 5 with my original VV3 kit. I prefer bottom coil EVODs/Protanks/Davides. One of the things I really like about these is if the juice starts tasting muted, I can turn it upside down, remove the coil assembly and wash it completely. I can leave the remaining juice in the "tank". just sit it securely with the tip end down. I remove the flavor wick from the coil and dry burn til the coils glow again. I replace the flavor wick (I use cotton), replace onto "tank", let it sit for 1/2 hr or more, and vape away. I don't loose a whole tank of juice or all the juice on the Iclear wicks.

Hope this helps! Others have great advice too!

I love how easy it is to fill the iClear 16 but I don't like how much warmer the vapor is or how much liquid the wicks soak up & retain. I always stuck a toothpick in the hole at the top when I was filling to avoid getting liquid down the center. You can always do what I do after filling EVODs & Protanks which is after filling & reassembling, blow out any liquid in the center tube by blowing through from the end that screws onto the battery while holding a napkin over the drip tip. The iClear that you got liquid down the center of is probably not ruined but the liquid could have leaked all the way through onto your battery so you might want to wipe the top of your iTaste off gently with an alcohol soaked q-tip.

Also, with all those long wicks on an iClear 16, it takes a while for them to completely saturate. Try taking puffs without firing to help prime them. That may have been the celery taste you experienced. Also, new wicks/coils taste always taste funny to me so I have been soaking them in vodka, rinsing under the tap and letting dry for 24 hours before using.

I think I might have just found the answer to my question about getting e-juice into that plastic thing in the middle. On the little sheet that came with the iClears, which I previously had only looked at the front side of, since I don't have an iClear30, on the back, there's a tiny photo of that plastic thing, and an arrow pointing to the hole in it, and *TINY* print saying "don't refill into this place" -- I might have gotten some of that sweeter juice into that, by accident. (I swear they print these things for bionic eyes)

I guess my question now would be, is that iClear now completely trashed, if I got e-juice into that tiny hole?

Andria

if you are talking about the silicone top no you didn't ruin it. That is just the air tube. Put the drip tip on, hold a napkin at the connector end and blow the excess juice out.

Here is a hint for the next fill. Put a toothpick into the hole. Don't jam it in there. Just insert it until it stops. That will block juice from getting in. And when filling don't go over the silicone cap. Stop just short of it.

I just ordered the kit that comes with the 5 iClear 16s as well as the battery and charger and it's supposed to come in the mail soon. I've only used the Ego Twists prior to this so it will be my first "fancy" ecig. I have a some questions though, how can I get my battery to last the longest before it completely dies and I need a new one? Is it bad for the battery to charge it and vape at the same time? What settings do you suggest that I vape on?

Hi Shady, and welcome to ECF :)

The battery chemistry used in the VV3 (and most all vaping batteries) is typically rated for 250 - 300 recharges. But that's from full discharge. If you charge before they reach shut down, you'll actually extend that life. So recharging sometime before the VV3 goes red will extend the service life of the battery. (And don't forget to charge until the battery light goes out, not just green.)

Since the VV3 isn't a true pass-thru, charging while vaping shouldn't affect it at all - other than taking longer to charge, since each time you vape you pull it down a bit.

Settings... many of us prefer the VW mode, although for some flavors I do put mine in VV mode since I can adjust it lower, and those flavors taste better that way. Just start low and take it up in steps, 0.5W or 0.1/0.2 V, until it starts to taste bad. The back it down the last step, and you should be fine. :vapor:

Last night we went to our grandson's hockey game. We always stand on the top row to get a better view. Well I decided to sneak a vape or two and reached into my pocked and pulled out my Pearl Chrome VV3 with one of my new IB Tanked on top. Sure enough I dropped it. The first fall was just a few feet, but then it took a bounce off the aluminum stands and sure enough found an opening and dived down to the concrete floor.

Next move was the excuse me, excuse me as I went down the stands and found an opening under the seats. There it was in one piece minus the drip tip. A quick scan and I saw the drip it and picked it and my VV3 up. After getting out from below I went into the main waiting area to look it over. The VV3 had a few minor mark on it and the IB Tanked looked like a tank. Not a mark on the glass or on the stainless end caps. I put the drip tip on and gave it a vape. Vaped like the pro it is. Later when we arrived home I checked the 510 connector and no damage there as the tank screwed right off and back on.

The top row of the stands is about a 20 foot drop to the concrete as it's not like I dropped it from the upper deck of Yankee Stadium, but all in all it took a lick and kept on ticking (vaping). :2cool:

I'm not sure what you mean by extend the battery life. The battery shuts down before it has a chance to over-discharge. If you charge it twice at 50%, isn't it the same as once at 0%? (not really 0% as battery shuts down before this) Doesn't 0.5+0.5=1?

I should probably post this since someone else is getting the vv3 with the iClear16s -- I personally think those iClear16s SUCK. They made the vape so hot it nearly burned my lips; I'm told this is because of the top coil. Last night I went to a local B&M and got a bottom coil clearo, the Kanger T3S, and it's MUCH!!!! better; at the iTaste's lowest setting, the vape is really not all that warm at all; it gets slightly warmer as you boost either the v or the ww; I've been using the v and boosting it to about 4.5-ish, and it gives a very good, very realistic throat hit and really full flavor to the Virginia e-juice I like best.

I really wish now I'd just bought the express kit and saved the money, but oh well, live and learn, vape and learn... I will never knowingly buy another top coil clearo of any kind. With this bottom coil one, this iTaste is MAGNIFICENT!

Just my own :2c:...

PS -- @DavidOck -- I've been charging mine as soon as the button shows yellow instead of green, so I'm glad to know that's actually good for it. But I didn't know that charging light would actually go out; I checked the voltage when it stayed on green for a while, and it showed 3.8, so I unplugged it -- thanks for letting me know I can just leave it, and it will eventually go out! :thumb:

Yes, regulated devices will shut down before over discharge, but the act of getting close to that stresses them more than re-charging before that point. So frequent re-charging seems to increase the service life, strange as it seems :)

Yeah, kind of counter intuitive, but that does seem to be the case.

Very glad I found this thread, I have two VV V3 that will be here on Monday and may have some questions. I am sad to read about the iclear 16 as I saw such good things about them on vendor site reviews. Maybe they will be okay for me, all I have ever used are the CF4's and CF4S. I do have a protank 2v2 but I didn't like it, as I felt it made everything taste muted and/or burnt/metallic. IDK, clean it, tried multiple coils different ohms, of course this was on my Ego C twist.

Sadly enough I do not even have them yet and have already started looking at upgrading to a mod, so it was also nice to see some chat here about that as well as some chat about coil building as I know that is the next logical step. I have to admit, I told myself that I would never get into mods or coil building......well what I can I say.

Mine are 5 months old and I charge mine daily and they are still like new.

Watched all the reviews. Sid is pretty much an updated version of the zmax. Same basic tech/menu system used. The one thing that makes me take pause with the SID - only 1 option for a battery. Based on what pbusardo showed, 2x 18350 batteries actually provides more accurate power for whatever setting.

I think I just prefer the 3 button options. And I think I've come to my conclusion. I think I'm getting the SVD. Sticking with Innokin.

Thank you all for your input and dealing with my constant back and forth.

I'd really like to know what you think about this when you get into it. I have been looking at this as an upgrade as well.

I really like my SVD. No trouble with mine.
I also like my MVP and VV VW3.
I Really like Innokin products. I've been using the same iclear16 for over a month just soak the coil in Vodka.

When looking at the mods how do you know what mAh battery to get or if they are supposed to be flat top or button top?

I went to the local B&M store last week, not looking at mods but looking to get 510 or 901 so that I could try dripping, however he immediately went to RBA, and then proceeded to tell me my EGO C twist 1100 would not support that so I had to get a mod. I allowed him to proceed to see what he was going to offer, I told him that I didn't want to spend to much so he suggested a Smoktech Magneto $69.99 and I think an Igo W (I remember there being 3 posts), 3 batteries and a charger about $170.00 and of course he was going to build my first coil (?) I guess. Anyways I was getting ready to pay opened my wallet and didn't have my debit card. That I think was a blessing thanks to shopping online earlier for some DIY supplies and leaving on the end table next to my chair and laptop. Seriously it all happened so fast I really wasn't sure what hit me. On the drive home I decided against going back and now that I have decided against using the local one and only B&M store, will pretty much be getting all mod training here on ECF.

I read a lot. I've learned a lot on this forum. When I can't find the info on the item I'm interested in on website I search here. I always buy imr battery's. Unless like my BIllet Box I use aw protected 16340. Most sales sites recommend the type battery's. Not everyone wants to use RBA. I rebuild a few. I prefer Kanger MT3,Smoktech Aero,Boge cartomizer in various tanks.
Easier to get the hang of stuff and build confidence before trying the harder more expensive stuff.
