So I got my first rda yesterday. The Patriot clone 20 mm from slowtech. I've found this out already:

1) I shouldn't have ordered the pre-made coils -- i don't really like the silica wick vs cotton (though I'm sure it has it's place and will get used).
2) Wrapping a coil is not nearly as difficult as I thought (watching Rip Trippers on YouTube is a fantastic guide).
3) Getting a little piece of cotton to go thru the coil without messing up the coil is a real PITA still.
4) I have no idea if I'm putting the cotton in correctly or if I'm leaving too much in there after I've pulled it thru.

It does fit perfectly on one of my VV V3 with a beauty ring. On my other one, must remove the beauty ring in order to make contact. Still a fan. Trying to decide what flavor to try with the RDA now that it looks like my coil is properly wrapped with decent heat distribution and will work effectively...

Hmm.

I just picked up a Vision Eternity while I wait for my KFL clone to make it's way across the globe. Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it works, even with the stock wraps (would prefer tiny screws to the pin covers they use, but...). It fits great on the VV3 (compared to an aerotank), and holds a fair bit of juice. Don't know if I'll bother with the T-tank bit, but it's there if I need to double up on my capacity.
I'll test my hand at rebuilding when I'm down to my last stock wrap, but in the meantime I'm a happy little vaper.

Brook, what about using thread or dental floss to pull a folded piece of cotton through the coil? Remember the cotton will swell a bit when saturated so you have some wiggle room.

My fingers would have trouble rolling the cotton thin enough to double over and still fit thru the coil. That being said, it's just a matter of practicing rolling the thinner snakes of cotton (and knowing how much to trim versus how much to tuck under). I'll figure it out. I'm more than happy with my VV3/ibtanked combo. The whole reason I ordered the RDAs was to allow me to taste flavor before putting it into my carto tank :)

I originally ordered three from slowtech. An Igo-L which is still in "Pre-Shipment" phase, an RDA Mini Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer and the 20 mm Patriot RDA. The RDA Mini came in awful condition. Both of the screws in the posts had no top to be able to unscrew them. Luckily, they were hollow screws so I was able to stick a toothpick in and twist it out that way.

So really, all I have is the Patriot RDA that is usable right now. I'll probably buy more screws, and eventually an RBA, but for now, I'm a happy vaper as well.

Hello, I'm a fairly new member of the vaping community.
This may have been discussed before...are the chargers that come with the itaste vv junk? Mine seem to flash forever, and one of my two didn't recharge overnight. I've resorted to using my iphone's wall adapter. Else-wise I like these babies.
Also, what are folks' fave toppers for these?

Hi PennyLynn, and welcome aboard :)

Actually, the charger is internal to the VV3. The cable to connect it to a USB / 5 volt source is the issue. They do have some pretty tiny wires inside, and that may be the source of your problems. If your "kit" came with a wall wart, it could be defective. Your iphone adapter is a fine alternative. I use a 4 port wall-wart, so I can charge more than one device at a time, just plugging in the appropriate cable.

On my VV3 I like the T3S, for its capacity, and the Evod, Mini PT and Mini Davide. Of course anything 510 or ego threaded will fit, but some just look too top heavy, even though they work well.

Thanks, it WAS the wall wart. My 2 babies are charging just fine with the iphone one. I'll look into the 4 port one.

So happy Tapatalk is back up ... Though there are two e cig forum options... One with the ECF logo. The other with the dark dude vaping a cig a like... which to use. Decisions, decisions.

    Hi brook...

I found out some Tapatalk info that might be useful to you (and anyone else who uses it).

    Download the most current version.

Clear the cache in tapatalk In settings - it's the last item - reboot tapatalk.

If that doesn't work, clear the cache in the General Settings on your phone/Manage Applications/Tapatalk.

Tapatalk is working. Just have two ECF options. And I've noticed I'm finally getting notifications from responses to chains I watch ... something that wasn't happening before. Wonderful!

This has nothing to do with the VV3, but I did find a juice vendor who seems like they are on the ball. They sell pre steeped ready to vape ejuice at a very fair price. They are a ECF vendor and they name is Strix Elixirs.

I ordered two 30 ml bottles and asked how they knew the juice was fully steeped. His answer was. "'ve been in the industry for 4 years. Over that time I've learned a lot about steeping. We make up small batches and note the date. We then try the juice every week to see if it is ready. Some liquids take longer to steep so we tailor the steeping process to each flavor. We are very organized and work really hard to ship very fast!" I order Eggnog and Strawzilla, each sold for $11.20 a bottle.

I'll report when they arrived and both were shipped today which is when I placed my order.

My antique Blackberry doesn't have tapatalk. Poor me.

    Strawzilla? What is that flavor?

I've heard good things about Strix. I think they're a participating vendor at Zamplebox. One of the guys from Vape Dudes split off and started Strix.

+1 on the T3S... I love mine so much, I ordered another; should be here tomorrow. Also got an ARO pyrex today, and it looks really sharp on the iTaste; have only tried it with one juice so far, so jury's still out on how it hits; seemed ok though.

David, I wondered if the charging cord I have for the eRoll could be used? It's also got the mini-USB connector, but a much heavier gauge cable, seems tougher. The one with the iTaste works ok, but it's so flimsy, I'm constantly afraid my natural clumsiness will come to play and just rip it apart.

Uh, Amazon? Forget which vendor, it's been some time...

Do a search there for something like: usb wall charger

Lots there to choose from. Look for one that has at least 500 mA per port, higher is better. And they're really inexpensive.

This is my favorite after researching them: Antec Quad Port USB Charging Station (UA4-25)

    http://smile.amazon.com/Antec-Quad-...qid=1394096793&sr=1-1&keywords=antec+charging

I now have two of them, one in the living room and one in the bedroom.
