What a pleasent surprise!!! All this crying about getting the vv3 with 1 rivet and it arrived today....with 6 rivets! Nice- couldn't be happier. I was ready to live with it and just be extra careful but this turned out pretty good. Thanks anyways for all of the great advice guys, I appreciate it. Time to vape and check this thing out!!

Update on my 101vape purchase- Contact CS selection on webpage doesn't work, so I called. No problems, I pay ($5.99) to send to him, he pays to send me a new one. I'm guessing that's common.

Ummm, Depends. If I have had it a while and it just went bonkers, and they did that, great. If I JUST got it and there was a problem with a NEW product, NOT, THEY pay both ways, PLUS, something extra. JMHO.

When I order something I expect it to work when I get it, if not I am not going to loose money and time to send it back, to get something else that may not work also. JMHO

I wouldn't worry about it. Many of us have the 1-rivet, and it's fine. Just not as mechanically strong if you drop it.

And...... if ya do?

A friend of mine did precisely that. Now the bit at the bottom slides in and out, tho the V3 still works and works well. Is minor surgery necessary? Can one of you V3 docs guide me thru the process?

Agreed that they should pay postage both ways. If he doesn't reimburse, I don't go back ever and don't give referrals.

This is why I hardly buy Anything ecigwise. This is my first purchase in over a year, and my first upgrade.

I'll give him a chance to pop something in with my replacement. I'm just wrapping a Poptart box around the V3 box so I shouldn't be out more than $2. :)

Kat, mine came apart at the top, so it was sort of swinging on the rivet.

I got some epoxy putty at Home Depot, and after mixing it, rolled out a long thin "strand" of it. You don't need much at all, it's tight spaces :) Just a thin strip on the "shoulder" that keeps the part from going in too far.

I then packed it between the parts and clamped them together. (Used hobby size bar clamps for that, but a bunch of rubber bands ought to work.) Wipe off the excess, squeezed out epoxy before it sets.

    Good luck!

Thank you David! I shrivel at the thought of going into Home Depot, but I may have something around the house that could mimic epoxy putty. Perhaps earthquake hold might do? The V3 is working and the bottom bit isn't slipping in and out, but it's good to know it COULD be fixed if I ever find the courage to do the Depot.

And the fact that I could use rubber bands in lieu of bar clamps..... welp, now you're talking! :D

I've noticed that too Nailz but for now I'm trying to break even with what I would have spent on analogs - and as I was down to only 2 or 3 a day before I stopped completely I've got a bit of a way to go yet !!

I actually use my vv more than the mvp because it is easier and more comfortable in my hand. The big advantage to the mvp is the long battery life (and it is way cool). If you are a very light vapor, that may not be an issue for you.

As far as cost, well, figure in the cost of replaceing a new shirt or a car seat cover or what have you from an ash burn. Figure in the cost of getting rid of the smell from your clothes, house, breath etc. Figure in the astronomical cost of health care from smoking related illnesses and you will see that spending money on things that keep you from smoking is money well spent.

You are obviously on your way with a solid device that well keep you vaping happily for a long time.

Lol, it does help!!! :) your are patient and kind! Thank you
Honestly it's actually very simple. A 'thingy' is simply a small plastic bottle with a screw-on cap that makes it air-tight. You put a new carto in a tank, fill the tank mostly fully and finish closing it up. Then put the carto/tank combo in the thingy and screw the cap on tight, wait a sec or 3, un-screw the cap, screw it back on, rinse and repeat...

The pressure change of screwing the capon and off makes the carto suck in fluid - watch the holes and see the bubbles - you will decide how much 'fiddling with your thingy' is enough. Some like the top flooded and wet, I simply screw open and closed 10-15 times, let it sit a minute and call it done. Never burnt, flooded, or any

    Does the above help?

I bought and sent back 3 ego vv v3's each died after a week of moderate use. Then got my itaste vv v3 in December and no issues!!! :)
A PC hub will normally only supply 500 mA. Many wall warts will supply considerably more; up to 2000 mA in some cases.

Although they have a similar girth, the eGo VV3 is considerably taller. In fact, it's just about a full inch taller than either the VV or the MVP. When you put a topper on it, it becomes quite tippy. It does have some neat features, showing you the resistance of your coil automatically as soon as you attach it as well as showing battery level all the time; however it also has a huge (IMO) flaw: The power connection is mini-USB, not micro! It seems nobody bothered to tell eGo that mini-USB was deprecated back in 2007 and everyone except the Apple fans already has a micro-USB cables everywhere, but mini-USB, not so much.

Well, sometimes we just have to get... creative. Anything that holds it firmly together while the epoxy sets is fine. I happened to have suitable clamps, but rubber bands, setting it on a table (with paper under, for drips... don't want it glued to the table!) between a couple stacks of books... you just don't want to have to hold it by hand that long!

I'd previously tried a couple different brands of "super glue", with no success. That type of glue isn't really a lot of good if there are voids to be filled, hence the epoxy. I'd imagine other stores have similar products as well. Haven't used the E6000 clnire referenced, but WallyWorld might even have epoxy putty. And other epoxies may work, but the putty type is a lot easier to work with, and control where it goes - not runny. Not sure if the results would be good if the glue ran onto the electronics.

My first vv from 101 convinced me to get 3 more. I got 2 in the chameleon and one pearl/chrome. Both the chameleon's have thread problems and the only tanks that really fit and work are my mini protank 2's. I'm going to put 510/ego adapters on them to help preserve the threads and make my other tanks work. Anyone else have this issue?

I hate dealing with vendors and their lack of service. $2.25 a pop sounds way better to me at this point.

A known and often written about problem with both the VV and MVP. Not your dealers fault. It is my theory that it is the length of the ego threads that cause most of the problems but irregardless of the cause, it is well noted. I have been on a campaign to get people to write innokin on this ( support@innokin.com ) and let them know that we are having this problem. They have responded to consumer feedback before and if they hear about it enough, hopefully they will correct it.

In the mean time you can wiggle the post up on the device, pull the pin down on the clearo or as you have summised, just learn to live with a 510/ego connector which is what I do to correct the air flow blockage for my K t-2. Put a small ego beauty ring on the bottom ego threads to make it look decent.
