I have an iClear 16 with a 2.1 ohm coil that is starting to read ~5 ohms (readings from the iTaste vv 3 confirmed with my multimeter). Does anyone happen to know the tolerance for the coils?

Have you tried cleaning it? That might be what's causing the increase in Ohm ?

What other kinds of tanks do you guys use with it? I have looked at the IBtanked and plan to get one one day, but for now I'm still on clearos :) I have evods and mini protanks, looking at the aspire BDCs.

The only problem with your "plan" (ie. buying more clearos before "one day" getting an IBTanked) is that after you've tried the IBTanked you'll probably lose all interest in using clearos.

ECF has numerous posts discussing what to do with one's clearos after you have experienced your first cartotank (eg. back-up drawer, give to newbies, throw out, etc.).

I meant cable.

I have tried cables from the other VV's, my MVP2, cell phone and tablet. I have also tried different bases as well. It is the port on the bottom of the VV that seems to be the issue. Vendor replied and asked me to send back so they can check it out. Very nice of them to do outside the warranty.

Thumbs up to Aquavaporcigs.com. They checked it out and swapped it out, no fuss. The replacement and all others are still going strong. My wife uses them everyday and i have two i use when giving my mvp2 a break for a couple of days.

Did you subtract the test lead resistance with your meter? That can add to the total value measured. Short the leads - press the tips together - and make a note of the reading. Then test your coil and subtract the lead reading from that to get the actual coil reading. (Many higher end meters have a button marked REL. If yours has that, short the leads and press it. The meter will store that reading and automatically subtract for you, until it's turned off.)

0.3 Ω is pretty typical for meter leads.

Sometimes, especially if overtightened, the positive pin will twist a little in the base, bringing part of the coil too close to the side of the housing, giving a partial short.

I tend to measure the coils off the atty closer to the actual coil, then once its mounted checking post-to-post. Rebuilt my rig once again reading a steady 1.3 from the VV. Seems to work alright and be well within a working range.

My only micro-project is achieving an optimal juice flow at this point, and I think I have that dialed in. My original Fogger setup was 1/1.1 ohm with a fairly loosey goosey flow which could have been due to looser chimney or airflow control itself, but now all seems to be in proper order. I'm not getting insane clouds, but performance I'm looking for seems to be there and I'll ride it for a tank before thinking further.

The VV itself seems excellent, if anything for the straight wattage mode and a micro usb port.

So my vv v3 died today. I had dropped it on the snow at work and couldn't find it for 30-45min. That was on Monday but once I found it the device was still working perfectly. I let it dry used q tips for the ports and everything was peachy till Last night. All of a sudden it wouldn't fire and when I hit the button it would flash "green red Amber green green green" then would say "888 then "1 =. 1". Except the = had a third line above so 3 lines not 2 and no quotations. Anyways I left it plugged in all night and its charged but still is continuing the same behaviors. It did take forever to charge not the normal short charge time. I am able to turn it off now which I couldn't do last night but I've givin up as I think it's dead. I'll be getting another today because it's by far my favorite device. So wheres the best place to buy one? 101vapes is sold out so that's not an option :(

Undoubtedly I will love it, I've heard great things about them. I've gone on their site before and am just a little overwhelmed with options, what to choose, etc. IBtanked is going to be at a vape meet in DC I plan to attend, so I'm just going to wait until I go there to order/get one :) I'm sure it will help to be able to face to face talk to someone to help me with ordering.

I read so many positive things about IB Tanked that I just had to order one. Might arrive today according to shipping information. I went with the 19mm Xl as it will fit my VV's and MVP2. Along with it I ordered some low resistance cartos and some standard resistance. The flavor difference from cartos and a tank to a clearomizer are said to be so much better.

I got mine on e-bay as well but from vapingtown. They have like 8000 positive reviews and 7 negative ones lol. Can't wait for it to get here!

For some reason when I searched I didn't see them. I do now when I searched for the sellers name. They are 3 bucks cheaper from them also. I might as well stay with the seller I bought from cause canceling an order and waiting for a refund is a pita.

I am sorry you feel overwhelmed trying order ibtanked but man o man glad to hear im not the only one. I have 'vape' $ burning a hole in my pocket right now but cannot come to a conclusion. I want something to match my shine edition mvp (green butterfly version) as well as something that will go well with my pearl white itaste vv v3 & my smoktech sid (simple & plain). Im hoping to finalize an order today...

I would agree with you, and many would agree with you. And yet, there are tons of people who continue to buy and use every form of clearo out there. Like everything else vape related (life related?), it's always a matter of preference. Clearos are certainly easier and more plug 'n play, but for me using a carto in order to get the taste I so enjoy, is worth the little bit of extra work.

If you have resigned yourself to the idea your vv is toast, I have one possible last resort fix. It has worked on cell phones my ex dropped in the hot tub.

Turn the unit off and lay it in your freezer in an exposed but safe spot and leave it there for 2 or 3 days. The freezing and exposure will "freeze dry" it and if the electronics were'nt damaged by firing it while it was wet, it may be good to go. Take it out of the freezer and allow it to slowly return to room temperature which should happen overnight. turn it back on by 3 clicking it WITHOUT any topper or tank and see if the menu sequences function normally before trying a topper and vaping. It's worth a try, anyway.

Good Luck!
