Aside from the occasional slip, I've been cig-free for going on three weeks now. I travel off and on for work and I'm about to take my first flight as a quasi-non-smoker... Whatever the hazards of snus, I can tell you for sure that just the idea that I'm not going to spend half the day getting twitchy and giving everyone the stink-eye has done wonders for my blood pressure.

Actually, I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do at an airport when I'm not guesstimating when to hit that last cig and try dashing through the security line to get to my gate or plotting ways to get outside between connections... Now the only thing to bother me are the delayed flights, lost luggage, and cattle-car seating. It seems almost tame by comparison. I'm even looking forward to seeing how the PV goes over at the airport. Should be interesting.

I know there's a sub-forum for this elsewhere, but folks here are much more interesting than the "general population..." So... Who's go travel stories?

Oh, traveling was a DREAM . . . . .

At the time (it was about a month ago) I was still smoking about 6-8 cigs a day but just knowing I could take it on the plane with me and not have to worry about smoking myself sick before I walked in the terminal was simply amazing.

Like you I would keep worrying how much time I had - I never wanted it to be too much because then damn, I could've had another cig! but cutting it too close would stress me out so much I NEEDED a cig

I had no problems going through security took my PVs out (Prodigy and Protege) and put them in the bin with my cellphone and shoes - no one said a word when I was flying out (JFK)

On the way back home (Orlando) I did the same thing (put the PVs in the bin) and I actually got stopped because I had the old cartos that come in the bubble packaging (like Nyqul gel caps) and they wanted to check them out.

I told them they were nic cartridges for my inhaler and no problem. :thumb:

I vaped on the plane - not excessively - but I just turned my body towards the window and vaped - I could tell the guy in front of me was a bit curious as to what I was doing but he never said anything . . .

I did have a snus on the way home - I just kept those in my bag and no one even looked at them. They were the camel snus but the box is really no different than a tin of Altoids.
