Kanza, it breaks my heart to see what some people go through. I wish we we could reach them all.

Almost unbelievable...
"But Moore said the new data should raise immediate alarms about the drug that was prescribed 3.2 million times last year to people trying to stop smoking — and 1.1 million times already this year, according to data from the firm Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solutions."

I tried Chantix. Guess I was lucky, I only got vivid dreams and really bad gas. And I smoked all through taking it (though I did cut down). After I did some research to quit this time, I decided that the intestinal upset might be the least of my worries.....

Thanks for the article. The FDA always has been and still is the largest non-functioning bureaucratic fiasco in our government. Let's not even talk about what they do to our food.....

Enough from me.

I tried to use Chantix to quit smoking twice before I found vaping. The first time I took it, I experienced zero side effects, and it worked very well. After taking it for a week or so, smoking stopped feeling good, and it made the reigned in the dt's enough so that I didn't feel the urge to murder everyone around me. As soon as I stopped taking it, I got cocky and thought I could have a cigarette when I was having a few beers, and within a couple of weeks, I was back to a pack a day.
The second time I took it, I experienced crazy dreams, every night. Not nightmares; the best way I can describle them is as frenzied, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas type dreams. I would wake up almost every night drenched in sweat and with my heart racing like I just sprinted up several flights of stairs. I had to stop it after two weeks, I just couldn't take it anymore.

I kinda liked the dreams :) And Mook, even though I have problems with the IRS too, the FDA is on the top of my list. If I lived where I could grow all of my own food and raise my own meat, I would fall off of the radar. That is actually my dream. I believe the FDA killed my mother (with her help of course...) and my uncle. But that is a whole rant for a different thread, if not a different forum.

I used Chantix to quit for 3 weeks. I then began to get horrible headaches and started reading about people who have had life time problems from depression to suicide to tremors to seizures, long after stopping Chantix (Champix in Canada). But see, Big Pharma pays the FDA to approve their products. I won't so much as get a vaccine in todays NWO. I TRY not to eat GMO food either, but it's in 90% of our food system. I clean my water with a Zero Water filter too.

At one time it was easier for 'them' to control millions of people than to kill them, now it's easier to kill them than to control them. Read that anyway you want ;)

I tried chantix before finding vaping also. It's by shear luck that I'm even here today. I had such horrible nightmares with it, EXTREME aggitation, mood swings that were uncontrollable, and violent episodes that came close to ending myself and my husbands life. I was SO close to killin him & anyone else who I could find. And for no reason that I can even remember. I would snap in and out of these episodes in the blink of an eye. Never knew when it was gonna happen either. Thank god I stopped taking the crap in one of my "sane" moments and we threw the s**t out !!! Still took me a couple weeks after I stopped taking them that I was 'normal' back to my old self. If you know anyone who is considering taking this stuff....STOP THEM !!!!!

ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE BIPOLAR!!! I'm bi-polar and a lot of the "moody", etc feelings you mention here are the "norm" for bi-polar folks (unless they are on meds...and in that case it's doubly bad since it can interact/interfere with their meds!):evil::evil:

I have tried a couple of different prescription Stop Smoking drugs, Chantix was the last one. With both products I suffered different side effects. The first one I ended up with the DT's, a Terrible Itchy Rash all over my body and extremely bad Nightmares. So my Doctor took me off of it.

With Chantix I became lethargic, depressed, had Wild Dreams and Nightmares, plus I had suicidal thoughts Constantly! :( I got the heck off the Chantix and swore I would never go back to it! In fact I swore that I would rather die of cancer than to put myself through any more prescription drugs to quit smoking!!!!!!!

Out of my experience I WARN Every Smoker I know to NOT USE Chantix or Any Prescription Drug to Quit Smoking!!!!! It Just IS NOT WORTH THE SIDE EFFECTS OR DANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago a friend let me try one of her Vapor4Life E-Cigs. Man! What a difference! In an 8 hour period of taking a few hits off the E-Cig I didn't even crave a cig. :) So, I saved up the money to order a starters kit from V4L and I am looking forward to it coming in the mail so I can get started on my way to quit Cigarettes! :)

My 3 to 4 pack a day habit is going to disappear! :)
