5 to 10 watts is a deal breaker for me but only because I vape 0.9ohm dual coil Odysseus and with a fresh charge AW IMR I'm pushing 4.2v and according to Ohm's Law Im running almost 20 watts... and at 3.7v Im around 15 watts...

Heres an Ohm's/Voltage Caluclator to check if youd like to see what wattage your currently using...

Flippes, please do your research. I'm going to throw u a bone and do some explaining. The first reason why it makes sense is that I vape the iAtty with a Provari, which regulates the voltage under load until the battery is on its last legs. The second reason why it makes sense, is that I only use AW IMR and AW LiFePO4 batteries in my mods, which I switch out as soon as their performance starts to dwindle. Currently, I have 8 sets of 3.2v AWs, and probably 40 or so 3.7v AW IMRs in various sizes, as well as 3 W-118 UltraFire chargers and a 4 slot Tennergy charger, so maintaining fresh batteries in my mods is never a problem.

The closest your argument goes as far as holding true, is using my 2.4ohm odysseus with a set of 3v batteries at their lowest possible charge, which I estimated to being 2.8v each under load (giving you the benefit of the doubt), in which case I'd still be vaping at 13.067w, 3 whole watts above what the kick can push out at it's highest setting. I hate to bash other manufacturers products, but I have no issue at all with spitting the facts, so the reality is that if I wanted to vape my current setup as close as possible to as it is right now, I could only do so at a wimpy 4.89v, a whole 20% lower than how it's performing now. And to anyone else like myself who didn't buy the Kick in hopes that Imeo's newest invention will outperform it, don't have any fears, doubts, or regrets. Imeo has never let the community down, and he sure as hell isn't going to this time. Happy vaping everyone.

@rwechsler: that makes no sense, because the voltage drops down with every puff. You will vape most of the time with lower power

I read this post today at school and almost typed, "I bet wechsler has an automatic-battery-switcher-upper" :p

I knew you'd have something up your sleeves: 50+ will do it, for sure haha

And I agree, 10W is just too low for me. It's not awful, but the kick does nothing that I really want/need.

Not a wasted post IMHO. Everything about vaping is subjective - we each like what we like. Not every device, juice, atty/carto or power level appeals to all. Higher watts is a sweet spot for some. Granted, the larger majority is not at that heat level. DCs pose an interesting scenario because the power is split across two much higher Ωs coils (so vapes cooler than the calculated watts might imply on a single coil).

The Kick does exactly what it is designed to do - provides boosted regulated power (reads Ωs and automatically regulates the volts and amps to provide consistent watts). Its range is designed for both safety and the components. It will appeal to many but certainly not all. First several hundred units sold out at both of the two venders who had them - within 20 minutes each. So it certainly appeals to some.

Variable voltage appeals to others and that too is a subjective preference. VV cannot deliver the consistency but it certainly can deliver higher heat levels (especially with stacked batts) that some prefer. I just think there are options enough for us all to find and enjoy whatever makes us happy vapers without judging each other's preferences.
