Anyone have friction fit drip tips on their lemos? I saw someone put a Cherry Vapes wide bore on theirs and said it was a snug fit.
Wanted to order this specific drip tip and was wondering if it will fit properly on the lemo.

I opened the vertical hole to 3.4mm, but that's really pushing it. (I'm surprised the threads are still holding it together) The horizontal holes are all 2mm, but you're right, any bigger than 1.7mm and you're really just wasting your time...however, even though my math says the combined volume of the 4 horizontal holes doesn't need to be any larger than the volume of the vertical hole, it sure seemed like the air flow increased when I opened them up to 2mm!?! I guess that shows what I know about Fluid Dynamics :)

I would think that it's much like beer line where the length of the line as well as the diameter determine the flow rate, increase the diameter or reduce the length and the beer flows faster. Replacing part of a beer line with larger tubing will also increase flow.

I've run the Cherry Vapes Cloud Chaser on mine, fit perfect, but I HATE the length and shape of it so I no longer use it. I've used a copper eBay clone of the one you liked though and it worked great (aside from it being slightly smaller outside diameter and having to use a little teflon tape to tighten it up).

Oh cool I'm out of quarantine. It took me 3 days to read this thread but I didn't want to miss anything about this remarkable RTA.
I'm running an istick 20 right now and got my Lemo drop on Saturday. I used the included coil and wick, didn't wash it, and didn't die. My previous tank was a nautilus mini and in comparison to that the flavor was different, the clouds were better, and here comes the nic head.
Okay this could get really long so ill save it. Brand new to building coils and wicking. Bought some anarchist cotton from my b&m. I have kanthal in 26 and 30 gauge. I use the 26 in he drop and got the 30 for an RDA I bought also but plan on twisting some up soon. I tried a vertical coil that came out to 1.7 and gave me huge cloud and wimpy flavor. Now I'm running a spaced coil built on a toggle bolt at 1.3 and 20 watts.
I think the basket wick thing is cool and works well. I don't have leak problems but it seems we've found the culprit there anyway. And it seems like far too much trouble to build the stuff needed for the DNA40 to do its temperature regulation, however I've never tried the vape from one.
Lastly, hello! I'm glad to be here.

Kiwi: What ohm's should i roughly get out of an hand twisted ni200 28awg and 32awg wire? I Just made one of those, and it seem'd ALLOT sturdier, I didn't completely ruin the coil while wicking this time. And it seems the wicking is one of the best I've managed to do so far. BUT, I guess trapping this twisted wire has made me get some poor connection, maybe just one of the wires caught, not sure yet. Because when the device is cold I ALWAYS get kanthal mode. Then when it's warmed up it works in Temperature protect mode. Seems odd, so must be a connection issue.

And another question, any clues/tips on why my lemo always ends up on 0.17ohms with 28awg ni200 3mm id, 8 wraps? I trap the wire under the screws, and i keep the legs beneath, not over the coil. According to steam engine it should be closer to 0.11-0.12ohm, which I have never had a coil end up at. So the lemo seems to add resistance somewhere. Is this common, or am I in need of some tweaks?

Edit:
Sigh, the glitch with kantal/temperature mode was just a weak battery. Switching it cured that issue. (Old one was 3,4V)
And another note, my twisted 28awg and 32awg coil reads 0.20ohm. With 3mm ID, and 8 wraps. So 0.03ohm higher then my single 28awg coils, does that seem right?

I tried my first twisted coils on my Lemo. It seemed like a harsher vape. I rebuilt them a few times and at one point I was getting consistent dry hits (a first for me). I even tried the bridge/nest wicking but it didn't help. I finally built one that was acceptable, but it still tasted like it was over-cooking my juice. I was starting to think that maybe my taste was off last night. However, while vaping it at work today, a co-worker, completely unsolicited, says to me "hey is that a different juice you're vaping today"? I answered "no", and he said that it didn't smell like it normally smells...he said it smelled burnt (I'm not getting dry hits anymore, so it wasn't that).

So do twisted coils burn hotter? Do you DNA40 users notice hitting TP more often when using twisted wire?

For now anyway, I have gone back to regular wire.

Also, could the fact that I vape heavy PG have something to do with it? Is the flash point of PG lower than VG?

I have found twisted to run cooler at a given wattage when compared to contact micros. About the same as spaced coils with close spaces.

One thing for sure that I've found with twisted is that it needs heavier wicking density than single strand otherwise it can get hot. I wick it heavy and then slide the wick back and forth in the coil to encourage the fibers to nestle into the crevices between the twists. In addition I have found contact twisted coils to be spitty so I usually space them out a bit.

I run twisted "micro spaced" coils like this in every tank device I own eg. Kayfun, Billow, Lemo, Egrip, Subtank Mini and Megatank. I feel the flavor and vapor density is better than contact micros or single strand spaced coils.

Most of my tank builds run in the 20-25w range, 1.1-1.9ohm, with tightly twisted 30 or 32awg kanthal ranging from 25-30 twists per inch.

My:2c:

Oh, a little update on my issues, I guess it really was a weak connection, threw out the coil today and made a new 8 wrap 3ID coil with legs on the underside. Came out to 0.15ohm after adding both the o-rings from the screwdriver under the 510 connection pin. So I guess the reading was off by 0.05-0.07ohms because the center pin was not pushing hard enough on the spring loaded 510 on my VS RDNA. All good now, finally getting the hang of wicking and coiling, so the taste of the juice is also better now. Good start on the weekend. This is on the drop, so guess some day I ought to fix the connection issues on the full size lemo. I have some rough edges on the center airflow pin to sand down, after screwing it in/out with too small of a screwdriver. Oh well, it works with kanthal for now.

I've had some issues with wonky connections on the Lemo/ Lemo drop as well. Had the mother of all overpowered hits today, when resistance jumped from 0.7 to 3 ohms... Completely caught me off guard, about took my freaking face off. Love this little tank, but wish the conductivity path were bit more robust. Reverse threaded adjustable 510 would probably minimize most issues.

Hey there VaPreis!

You said you built a coil with 26 gauge kanthal, 12 warps, and an inner diameter of 2.2mm? Your vaping it at 20 watts?? That's a micro coil right? Looks to me like all your wraps and touching side by side and it's a really good looking coil.

I just got an ipv mini and I have the Lemo Drop. I built a standard coil with 26 gauge kanthal, id of 3mm, about 6-7 wraps came out to about 1 ohm. The max I can vape this thing is about 13.5 watts if I go to much higher I will get dry hits if I vape it 3 times in a row. I'm thinking about trying to replicate your micro build there because I really want to vape it at 20 watts man.

Your said you use CVS organic cotton.... Is that just normal organic cotton balls? Cuz I got normal organic cottonballs and I started thinking maybe I just cant get the wicking down properly on this build.

BTW I'm using 50/50 blend eliquid.

Yesssss!!

I did 12 warps of 26gauge kanthal id of 3mm came out to about 1.6 ohms. Used a healthy amount of cotton like I see in your photo and wooo. Vaping it at 20 watts! No dry hits! Great flavor! Plumes of vapor! No having to wait a second and puff prime my coil a bit. It just rips! I don't even have to take a 10 second hit like I used to with my old rig!

Thank you so much VaPreis this is the perfect build for me!

I just spent 10min vaping Atlantis tank, and all i can say .....its garbage.

I did enjoy Atlantis for about a month when i first got it, it was my upgrade from Nautilus, and Atlantis was a great tank. But, its no where close to vape quality and juice flavor as Lemo or RDA.

The coulda shoulda woulda, wish i bought the Lemo the day i started vaping. But its the price i had to pay for the learning experience at my own cost that comes with vaping. Would have been nice, if my local vape shops gave me a better guidance from the get-go.

And yes, im part to blame for not finding this forum sooner.

Picture time. My own moded tip that i used in a Nautilus tank. It was half metal half plastic. I shaved off the threads and drilled it out. Better airflow then factory Lemo tip.

I had resistance jumping like you.
I put an o-ring under the round cap that the 510 pin screws into. No more issues after that!
