You guys are doing lung hits I assume? I know its all preference, just wondering if anyone else liked using it with a more closed air setting and how it vapes. Guess the only way to find out for sure is to try it myself. I'll fiddle with it when I receive it. I just can't do lung hits... or rather, I prefer mouth to lung hits. If it can close all the way, then I'm sure I will find a happy medium for my personal taste. I just thought that IF I don't use the airy/open draw like everyone else, it will not vape "as good" or at its full potential or whatever. Even with my Kayfuns, which most people tend to say that it doesn't have enough airflow, I have it slightly closed off without the airflow screw out all the way. For me, it's not really about the flavor with the airflow closed or open, its just about the type of hit I like which is not super airy.

As i posted in another thread with the lemo which i have at max air i do lung hits because with the air flow i just find for me it promotes easy deep breaths.
Something like a KFL+v2 for me is tighter and thats more for mouth to lung hits for me. Can do lung hits on it but not as easy and accommodating as the Lemo.
Only had my lemo at max air but figure just lessening the air will get you at a point for mouth to lung.

What constant line of questioning? I'm here discussing the Lemo like everyone else. I'm getting the information from what others have posted here. You say that closing off most of the air would defeat the purpose of the Lemo, since most people LIKE the wide airflow. Of course, I wouldn't close it all the way, but I would like to make it tight enough where I can do a mouth to lung hit that isn't too airy. I understand that the Lemo performs better with the air open all or almost all the way. Since I want it closed off more, it would diminish the quality of the vape?

I am a mouth to lung hitter and I enjoy the Lemo above all others. I never use it for lung hits.

Set the airflow to your preference. A drip tip o-ring under the AFC ring will help to maintain the position. Adjust your build and wattage to your taste.

What you may find (like I did) is that the Lemo may change your airflow preference over time. I now find even my drilled out kayfuns to be to restrictive even for mouth to lung hits. I still don't use my Lemo's wide open, but my expectations are different then before I purchased the first Lemo.

What the max wattage I can safely go up with the stock 1.2ohm coil with Japanese cotton?? I'm at 22 wattage and I have got no dry hits yet. Inside or outside. I have tried it at 25 wattage and it feels no different vs 22 wattage. But outside (cold and windy these days) at 25W i get burnt hits every other draw.

I would like to try 30W and not get dry hits. Do i need a 1.0 ohm coil??

Not a big big fan of sub ohming, but i might try 0.8 ohm coil on the Lemo drop. I'm guessing I will be able to do 30W but will i still get dry hits bc the Japanese cotton won't be able to absorb the liquid fast enough??

Use Steam Engine (coil wrapping tab) to gauge your builds. Pay special attention to the "heat flux" section over to the right. There you can set the wattage you are using which will tell you the type of hit you can expect based on the build information you put in. When it starts to get into the red, that is when you can start to expect dry hits (with an RTA) because the wick will have trouble keeping up. It is not a full proof method, but I have always found it to be fairly accurate.

I'm almost embarrassed to ask such a basic question since you all seem to be such advanced vapers, but here goes anyway. I just received my first Lemos in vape mail yesterday. I got both a regular and a drop. Both came set up with a coil and cotton wick.

Is it recommended to completely disassemble them and soak in alcohol to thoroughly clean them before use? Got into that practice with my Russian and Kayfun clones after a bad experience with machine oil or something in them. The coils check 1.1 and 1.2 ohms and also wonder if they should be discarded and start with my own?

Thanks

Nothing embarrassing about asking questions!

While I found my Lemo to come very clean (no visible machine oil, and rubbing my finger over parts of it found no residue), I still completely disassembled mine and washed it all in very hot water with just a drop of dish soap. I see no reason why rubbing alcohol wouldn't work just as well, so long as you are sure to let it evaporate completely before re-assembly.

I discarded my stock coil simply because I was keen to get the Lemo for using with Nickel wire (and the stock coil is Kanthal). However, I've seen others say it was a good starting point. Regardless, I'd take photos of it (and the wicking) as I think it's a pretty good baseline. There are also tons of coil builds / wicking suggestions here in this thread if you take some time to look through.

Regardless, enjoy your Lemo!

Getting more dry hits vaping outside. Its cold as heck. Other than lowering the wattage any other solutions?

I finally got my build working and wicking correctly.

I just posted some of my experiences with my Lemo Drop on a VaporShark rDNA-40.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14988748

Edit to add: i seem to remember you're not using nickel, so my coil may not apply. But the wicking technique may be helpful.

Sounds like you may have wick blocking the juice channels.

Mine looked clean when i got it but i still gave it a wash.
As for the coils it comes with - You can use them if you want - Check them first to see their good.
I tossed mine because wanted to do my own build after all thats what its for.

I found my first couple builds had a little "funk" to them, might just be me but I would totally and I mean totally disassemble and wash it!!

Since I now seem to be hooked on the Lemo, where is the best place to purchase them? Specifically, the drop?

Fasttech sales it for cheap. Use the epacket for 2 dollars (1 and a half to 2 weeks vs 4 weeks shipping) . or focalcig? Most other places charge 39 bucks if you want it right now

Thanks!

Are the ones from focalcig and fasttech authentic or clones? For the quality of this product and the regular price point of around $40, I'm not sure if I want to go the clone route or not.

Edit: Never mind. Just went to the site and I see they're authentic! Good price too!

That's my problem! I have a VS rDNA-40 which is great with nickel builds on my Lemo, but then I go back to my kayfun or Russian and I find I'm craving that flavor in the Lemo.

But it's a slippery slope. I'm sure then I'll want a second VS for the second Lemo.

Sigh... At least I'm not smoking, even if I'm not saving money!
