still smelling like perfume, or shampoo, at the end of the day!
not having to wait in "that line" anymore.. going through the self serve machines whenever I want, because I don't need to ask for a pack of Marlboro smooths!
not knowing, or caring, how much the price of cigarettes are anymore![]()
I LOVE THIS THREAD!....everytime I feel a little jittery, I come read this thread. Thank you all...I was trying to figure out how to copy and past every item you all have listed and making a poster of it!![]()
Same here. I would add very strange and vivid dreams but I think that's only the first week or two you stop smoking. Oddly enough I have rather enjoyed these the last couple nights.
I soooo agree! Former ER RN the dirty looks were killer. We are now a smoke-free campus and it doesn't bother me. People don't have any idea the stress codes and high acuity pts. put on us. Sure we look unaffected, we do our thing without batting an eye but ohhhh the come down after the code or trauma. The feeling of OMG what did I just do? Did I really do xyz... No wonder we smoked. In neuro clinic now and the stress is different but still stress. I can feel free from smoke breaks now but still get my fix and maintain my sanity.respiratory therapists...yes the ones who give neb treatments, suction trach's and manage ventilators and intubate etc, are the biggest smokers, and i should know cuz i have worked as a medical professional for almost two decades and at MANY hospitals.
what people just dont understand, the work can be very stressful. when i worked for years in Emergency Medicine, i was smoking in the ambulance bay every change i got between traumas/codes.
I'd also like to add not worrying how much MORE they want to tax cigarettes.... that's a great thing. Now I just hope they tax it so more people vape and it'll be a less stinky world.
