Just an Idea.

Would it be worth, putting together a database of mod parts.
Everything from mosfets to battery clips, 5ml bottles to mod boxes.

Fully searchable, and updateable.
One place for any modders to go and get a product link to the supplier.
Fields for user comments on parts.

I remembered that I saw a link to a switch, and it took me nearly 2 hours to find it.
Having a searchable DB maybe the way to go.

I would be quite happy to build a sql db and host it on my site.
I would like all your thoughts.
But also ideas on the db design, (field names, etc)
The more basic the better as my head explodes when I start trawling through farnell datasheets, so just adding the relevant information, links and pics, etc.

What do you think!!!!!!!!

The database would be best off as a seperate link from ecf that could be stickied. I'm thinkin a free web page, with a tool bar with every section listed.

Possible tool bar sections:

-Parts and components
-Tools of the trade
-Tips and tricks
-Wiring and you
-Basic "how to's" (includes nicotstick, juice feeders, passthroughs, basic ideas)
-Advanced "how to's" (includes more advanced mods)

Each of those major sections could then be broken down into specific catagories once the user has gone into that section. Either the toolbar opens up a second toolbar once the user has clicked it, or it goes to a page with everything shopping listed with a table of contents for quick jumps.

Another addition to any information listed would be prices. Something people are always considered with, after all. Parts and components would have all the prices of each component on it, tools would have average priced tools that all modders use, and the how to's would have total prices for all the components.

This is just off the top of my head, more would certainly be added... Also in any of the how-to's I would propose a rating scale on the difficulty of the project. It would give new modders an idea of what they are getting themselves in to.

 than you are undoubtedly really talented, my friend!
but i dont believe you can make my DB mouthpiece any less worst than it is!!!

Oh yes I could... I can fix and make any picture look completely different, you would be amazed at what you can do with photoshop. Usually when I make a Signature picture for someone I use pieces from at least 6 other images and make them all into one and it looks like it was meant to be that way.

Although if I fixed you DB mouthpiece it wouldn't be so ghetto now would it?
