I beg to differ with you.
The excess taxing hurts the FAMILY budget, & they are non smokers in the stats.
I agree with the taxes, but in my hypothetical stats, this is a non-issue. I just did straight numbers on new customers and loss of existing customers, that's it.
Humanity hates seeing the smokers huddled in the rain & snow, without shelter. It's in humane no matter how you look at it unless you're narcissistic.
Smokers chose to smoke, so they, myself included in this, choose to stand out in the rain, sun, snow, wind, tornado, whatever. Nobody is making us smoke, therefore it is not inhumane that we have to go outside to smoke. We do it to ourselves.
Humans of every walk of race, color or culture know exactly what addictions or habits are. There's not a person alive who isn't battling their own devil, be it
too much tv, anger, control issues, gambling, eating,
busy bodying,
laziness,
crudeness, sweets,
salts,
loving the wrong people, judge mentalist, typo making, grammar, bad decision making, porn,
extremist of anything, especially religion & ideals.
They understand full well about trying to forgo a habit on somebody else's time schedule, somebody else's forced arrogance.
I don't know where to begin with this one. If you have not suffered an addiction, you do not know what it is like. That is a fact. Personally, people don't understand why I can't take certain prescription medications, because if I did, it could possibly lead me to relapse. What I bolded are not addictions. If you watch too much TV, are lazy, crude, judgmental, using bad grammar, bad decisions, you can stop doing all of that with only minimal discomfort, if any. Yes, there may be some anxiety because you are missing what Oprah is giving away this week, but it does not have to potential to kill you. Or maybe you'll be healthier because you stopped being lazy, and cleaned your home. Or maybe you got a date because you stopped being crude, judgmental, and using bad grammar. And because you stopped making bad decisions, your life does get better. But people don't think, "Hey, if I don't make a bad decision soon, I'm going to lose it! I've just gotta make a bad decision!! Nothing else matters until I get my fix!!"
People try to understand what it's like to quit an addiction, a real addiction, but again, unless you've actually gone
through it, you don't know what it's like.
