Yes Eric you can presume. :)

Schweet. I hope this is the answer to my Genesis dilemma. I have to review one but I can't do that unless I have a working wick that doesn't make me hack up a lung with the harsh vapor it produces. Question though, I notice folks are using finer mesh -- 500 and beyond. Is that because it doesn't have to be oxidized with the pyrex tubes? Should I be using it? All I have are the few sheets that came with the Phoenix (whatever gauge that is) and some leftover 325.

If I may chime in.. The 500 mesh and beyond is because when rolled with a very small middle hole wicks 3 times greater than the 325. The 400 improves rolled the same way but only a little.

Mesh should be boiled in a water and vinegar solution to clean off any oils and whatever on it.

The latest with the pryex is use about 10mm long tube with about 8 wraps of 28g or 30g and leave a little space between the tube and the attie. Do not insert the tube into the attie as vapor production is reduced..
While using mesh works, the best so far has been hemp.. You can get hemp rope at the Dollar tree 2mm x 10 yds for 1.25$. Don't forget to boil it and dry..

I tried some hemp and it does work very well.. At our local vape meet we plan on doing a workshop on this..

Northar has some good advice. OTOH it all depends on the liquid viscosity you use and as most folks are not experts when it comes to genies, I provide the ball park. I vape 100% VG liquids but they have the consistency of PG. Prior to going back to all VG (wife's request) I was vaping 70/30 with all 3 (400, 325, 250) without any wicking problems. Wrt oxidizing or not with the pyrex the answer it is not necessary.

When it comes to 500 and 600 mesh, kerosene is not the viscosity of PG, it is akin to alcohol. Your problem with harshness can be attributed to a couple of things: hot spots; and the air hole not being lined up with the wick. Hope this helps. Dave Dorn uses saran wrap to insulate the wick from the deck (only the portion of the wick that touches the deck (2-3 wraps is all that is required)), works like a charm. See the Haze hour from last week or the week before.

We will be closed for the holidays commencing the 19th of Dec until the 2nd of Jan. Business will resume on the 2nd of Jan.

.... Reasons, you will not get your goods past the CP deadline until the new year, therefore no sense mailing stuff out. That being said, we will still be manufacturing and 2013 has some wow in its making :D
