Biography:

I grew up in a small farming town in Texas as the oldest of three children to my single mother. I did not like the limitations of living in a small town, so I chose to leave behind friends and family to go to Dallas and attend the University of North Texas. Although my small town school did not prepare me for college, I worked hard and caught up with the rest of the students eventually graduating with honors with a degree in Psychology and the first ever with a minor in Human Sexuality.

Since Texas is part of the so-called bible belt, it was impossible for me to attain my dream job of teaching sex education to adolescents. Thus, I went to the only place where I could teach sex education: an adult toy store. The company I work for has more of a boutique style and excels in being a wholesome place where couples can come and explore ways to improve their sexual health and pleasure.

On Super bowl Sunday of 2008, I was working alone in the store and a man with a gun came in and demanded the cash drawer. He was only able to get $50 and was never caught, but the experience of having a gun to my head prevented me from ever working in the store again. Lucky for me, I had another option within the company: home parties. For over a year now, I have helped implement and execute home parties for my company, even writing the training manual and training new demonstrators.

Although not a cash cow, my job allows me to do what I love, talk to women about health sexuality and do my best to remove the American taboo of talking about sex and sexuality. Along with my job as an adult sex educator and toy distributor, I now have my own sex column in a new Dallas e-zine called Cheesecake.

With the new white house administration, the possibility of me fulfilling my dream of teaching comprehensive sex education to adolescents is closer and closer every day! But, if time goes by and there are still no opportunities, other less sexually repressed countries are not out of the question =)

Essay Answer:

This is something I have thought about for years and I keep coming up with the same answer on who I would talk to if I could time travel: Jesus.

Before you pidgin hole me as a religious fanatic because I live in Texas, I must say I am an agnostic; I just don't know if there is a divine being to thank for my existence.

Our world today is highly influenced by the bible, whether we like it or not. Wars are started and blood is shed because of it. Peoples are discriminated against and rights disallowed from its word. And even though it contains the Songs of Solomon, sexuality is seen as some how evil and shameful, so I would like to have a chat with Jesus.

I would spend a year before hand researching all of the connections to how modern day society emulates the words of the bible and take my list to him to get clarification on what he actually meant with his words and persuade him to be very specific in the language of the bible.

This is a selfless answer, but it might be one tiny thing that could make the world a better place for all of us!

i will enter.. i'm cute and smart and i feel i have a "chance in hell" against anyone!.. i am a licensed embalmer and i have 3 degrees.. (general studies, mortuary science, and biology) I was also a ninth grade teacher and am an amateur chef.. i make my own hair falls and also do special effects for B-grade monster movies.. Yes, this is generally how i look all the time (except for work, then i am more corporate goth).. I have 2 kids, 21 and 18.. and a 5 month old grandbaby...

oh.. ok. where would i go..

This is a hard question because it would depend on if i would be an active participant or not. Although, i am of the belief that if time travel were possible, you couldn't change anything or warp the current time continum. Why do i believe this to be so, it's because i believe that once something is completed, it is done. There is no going back - only working towards fixing the error and moving on.

With this being said, I would go back to 1970, not just because it is the year i was born.. but i would like to have witnessed the Manson Trial... it is a story that has fascinated me and the hijinks surrounding the trial were very exciting. I am very interested in serial killers of all types. I believe that they are the only true predators we have as a species and the only thing that actively hunts us, other than polar bears. This mindset has always intrigued me as well as the different aspects of serial killer psychology. Also, it's a spot in history that shows us that we are not always good creatures and we have the tendency to follow what is bad or wrong. But even though we still know it is bad or wrong, sometimes we follow anyway. It's in our nature.. it's who we are. So yes, i think i would have like to witnessed this event in history!

OK, I'm NOT posting any pictures, because I'm NOT competing against these lovely ladies - I, in comparison, have more in looks like RickStar (although I have less hair and - ahem - appendages.......)


But the question intrigues me to no end.... If I could time-travel, where would I go? What would I do? My husband would tell me to go back and tell myself as I was growing up to invest heavily in Microsoft or Netscape....

I'm a bit more fantastically inclined. If I had my pick of time periods, I would travel back to the time of Ramses the Great. I could learn the secrets of the Egyptian magic, of which I've no doubt in my mind was real and has passed into antiquity as forgotten knowledge. I would observe and learn all I could about this first, great civilization, then return and spend the remaining years of my life debating the scholars of this era over their "interpretation" of what I have observed first hand.

Hello all I guess some info on me is in order.......let's see. I have a lovely little guy(he hates when I say little he is 9 going on 45 named Noah. His dad passed away when I was pregnant with him so he is a very special only child I work at Mayo Clinic in a Biochemical Genetics Lab but my favorite job was owning an adult store like Kaston used to work in. It was a blast educating people on their sexuality! We are lucky to live in these days where a person can be so open! I have no pets but love reading the stories you guys write about yours! I am very vigilant about the ecig I have tried everything to stop smoking and this was the only thing that did it! I love to educate people on it and feel terrific when I can convert them from analogs. I believe that the tobacco industry is living on blood money so I love to take it out of their pockets hehehe. I am a snowbird that lives in Minnesota but I travel quite a bit with my boyfriend who has a house in the Keys so we spend a lot of time there. A lot of the retirees love Noah they don't see many kids down there All in all I believe in karma and the golden rule of treat others as you would want to be treated and believe the world would be a better place if others did too. I love the forum and the people in it and look forward to talking to you guys each day!

As far as if I could go back in time.......I would love to go to Woodstock. I love to read about that generation and feel like I was born too late. People protested openly about the things they believed were unjust and really felt that it would make a difference. Then I would take my knowledge and belief in the system to march up to capital hill with my sign that said ....."Free the ECIG" or maybe chant " Give up, give up that analog go buy a SD from sweet old Trog"

Ok, here's my biography:

I was born and raised in Southern California, until I recently moved with Steve (my fiance) to Nashville, TN. I was raised in a very strict fundamental Christian home, where I was not allowed to dance, pierce anything but my ears (and only in the earlobe), or make my own decisions. Kindergarten through 12th grade was even more strict. I went to a Private Christian school (where my mom taught 3rd grade, and was even my teacher when I was that age). There were no more than 300 in the junior high and high school put together, and only 38 in my graduating class. We had to not only wear school uniforms, but our skirts....yes skirts...had to be no shorter than the middle of the knee (even our cheerleading uniforms) and pants were never allowed. Girls were also not allowed to dye their hair or even thing about making physical contact with someone of the opposite sex. I went to church whenever the doors were open, and played the flute in the orchestra and sang in the choir every Sunday (not always because I wanted to). If I ever wanted to try a different church that had more contemporary music (our church mainly sang hymns, and would NEVER consider having drums), I was given so much grief about it that it was easier just not to fight about it and go with my parents to our regular church.

I did have many happy times during my childhood and adolescence despite all the sheltering. I played volleyball throughout high school and was even named the MVP of the league and won the Female Athlete of the Year my senior year. However, as you can imagine, all this sheltering and controlling finally built up a wall inside of me so strong that I didn't know what to do with myself, but I just bottled it up inside and almost always did what I was told. Then Steve came along (well, we met in 3rd grade, but then lost touch til we were both in our late teens, early 20s). He showed me that I'm not some puppet that needs to be told what to wear, where to go, and what to do. I was an adult and I could make my own decisions. Now don't get me wrong, I have a conscience and I know what's right and wrong, and I've always strived to be the best person I can be. But Steve showed me what it was like to be my own self and make the decisions that I felt were best for me, even if that meant I would disappoint or anger my parents along the way.

So fast forward 3 years, and Steve and I are happily living together in TN (while not married, much to the dismay of my parents), but we're SO happy together. I don't know of anyone that I'd rather be with. We also started PureSmoker together, which was a really big risk involving pretty much all our life savings, but we did it! Even though no one believed in us, and everyone told us we were doomed for failure. This is probably the time in my life where I can say that I'm the most proud of myself and what Steve and I have accomplished together. The future holds so many wonderful and exciting things, from getting married, to starting a family, and continuing on this journey that we call life. And I can only hope and pray that I hold true to what makes me, me.

Now the entry question:

If I could go back in time, I would love to go back to the Victorian Era. I'm fascinated by the way of life back then, when women wore those very large ballgowns and everyone traveled via horse and buggy. Granted there way of medicine was not very advanced (bleeding someone to get rid of infection, etc), but everything about that era interests me. Gentlemen were gentlemen, and they knew what it was like to be in love. Call me old fashioned, but letters from your admirer, courting, romance, open landscapes without all the congestion that we have today, rides in the fresh air in the back of a horse drawn carriage are all something that I wish I could experience first hand in that era.
