Don't know what my tax return money will buy me. Debating on a new box mod and atty or a box mod and tank. I'd love to get a reo, but my sweet spot is .5 to .6 around 30 to 40 watts, and I'm not a fan of mechs. Might get a dna 40 with tc, but idk. So many options lol. Right now I got a sig 50 snd sig 100 with a mutation x v2, clt v2, and mephisto v2.

Don't know exactly what brands you like, but the ipv2 mini just came out and goes to 70W. The mini v1 goes to 30W. Both seem solid and well built and both are comfortably under $100. - especially the 30W mini now that the 70 is out. It's going for about $50., or less from reliable vendors like VaporDNA and Vapor Range.
I have an iPV2s. The larger version that's also a 70W regulated box and has performed beautifully for me. I've used it every day since I got it and really enjoy it.
I'd love the mini 2 for the size, but that seems a little redundant and I just spent my limit on a new Paps X.
I am a mech fan, but reg mods are a different animal altogether and give you a different range of experiences.
Go with what feels most comfortable for you, but check out the iPVs.

The ipvs don't seem much different from what I have. Wold also like a dual 18650 over a single but that's not a huge influence.

Haven't looked into them, would require new Batteries, new charger. And I wouldn't be able to just change at ties to a different mod. Alot more cons than pros but if some thing grabbed me I wouldn't say no

I highly recommend the Cloupor T6 or T8. If your charger can charge 18650's, it very likely will do 26650. Same length, just fatter. I get 2 days out of mine with exclusive use. Since it is a box mod, atty size isn't a worry.

after some time with it, I'm coming to the conclusion the Magma isn't for me.. while it is easy to build on, and I can see the benefits to those who would like it, I'm finding it's either too airy or not enough, messy, heavy, and I don't get the flavor I'm looking for.

can anyone recommend a smaller diameter, single coil RBA ~$20?

Smoktech Dripper RDA
and the smallest is probably the
Smoktech 510 RDA

All these are well under 20 bucks...

Also, the Magma weights 70 grams fwiw...I found a couple of decent rda's but they were 90 grams!
