Thanks, solace :). I was thinking maybe I should up the power and just try to get through what's left in the tank.
with the STMini, if your power setting is too low and juice is wicking faster than you're vaping, all of your symptoms will occur! happens to me all the time, especially when I get close to the coil level, have to up the watts a little to finish the tank.

eta: it's amazing what coffee does for my verbal skills. LOL

I need some help folks! I can rebuild a Kanger Evod coil in a heartbeat! It is so easy! Problem is that a have 5+ aerotanks that use the dual coils and I haven't been successful in rebuilding them. The chimney is impossible to get off! If I can't successfully rebuild these I might have to let the aerotanks go! I also have fought with rebuilding the Nautilus bvc to no avail but I will continue to buy those coils!

Chili, are you attempting to rebuild them as duels?

Hi Fam,

Like 57chilicat, I need a little help/guidance too. Here's my issue. I'm vaping some ACB on my new Sigelei and I'm constantly getting juice in my mouth (big yuk!). Getting the juice in my mouth is kinda ruining my vape. I have a Kanger Subtank Mini on my Sig. I have taken it all apart and cleaned it out twice, changed the wattage, and checked to make sure everything is tight -- but not too tight. Still, I'm eating juice. My tank is crackling and popping too. Actually, I don't mind the crackling & popping-- just don't want the juice popping on my tongue

And oh, I was very careful filling the tank. I avoided getting juice in the center pole (chimney). Any advice?

Tanks in advance!

when this happens to me, I up the power and vape through it - I think there's too much juice on the coil & wick.

Solice brings up a valid point. If you are not using enough power to adequately vaporize the juice, it's more than likely going to shoot the tube. On the flip side of that, the cracking and popping ( unless at very low ohms) could be a sign of not quite enough wick causing the juice between the coil and the wick to boil off as it's being inhaled.

Thanks, distorto. :). Sounds as if not giving it enough power to vaporize the juice may well be the issue. I've been keeping the watts pretty low, e.g., 12-17. But then, I'm still trying to find my sweet spot and sometimes I go up too far and get a really hot vape.

What is the ohmage of your coil and which model SIG do you have? Do you prefer a warmer vape or cooler?

It's natural for a little air to rise once you have put a tank back together. The trick to supplanting the air is to cover the intake and take a pull. I looked a little closer at your pictures and this is in no way meant to be sarcastic or judgmental. Next time You re-coil, flip the coil over so that the legs have a straighter shot to the posts...;)

No need to tear it apart now but I would imagine that you had a bit of a tough time getting them wrapped around the posts with the legs coming off of the top

 yup, that helped! Sad that it didn't occur to me to do that!

ETA: Just realized that my reply might have been taken as sarcasm. It isn't. Really and truly, I've been struggling with wrapping the legs from the top. I guess I just thought they were supposed to be that way.

No! I watched a video with a single coil wrapped with cotton and a video where he made an oval coil with a tie wrap. One of the videos said that the flavor was almost gone on the rebuild. I get great flavor on my rebuilt Evod coils but I can't seem to get the hang of rebuilding the dual type for my aerotanks!
I'm wanting a single coil in a dual coil shell!

Should of asked before...What kind of ohms are you looking for?

Back to direction of coil leads ... I really DID think that the leads had to come from the top of the coil. I thought bad things could happen if a lead touched the deck. Is that something about which I don't have to worry? Or, do I have to be sure that there's enough tension so that the leads don't "droop"? I struggle with getting tension on the leads, let alone maintaining it!

Hi distorto,

I think the ohm of the coil is 1.2. I believe 1.2 is correct because I built my very first coil about a week ago (had fun doing it too). I have the Sig 50W (and I love it, by the way!). I much prefer a cool vape. Thanks for your input -- preciate it :)

P.S. I also think I may have overfilled my tank because there was juice in the AFC

By laying the coil legs flat to the insulator blocks it makes it easier to wrap the coil legs around the post screws. You can hold the coil in place over the air supply port while wrapping the legs with your wrapping device or the proper sized screwdriver shaft that fits into the coil. Once the coil is secure, slightly pull straight up on the screwdriver to tension the legs.

As you can see in the picture ( this is a Lemo) The positive post block is insulated from the negative block. The only way to get in trouble is to short the coil by making contact with both blocks at the same time ( coil sitting on the deck) or the chimney ( or in the case of a dripper, the top cap) itself.

I like a 1.2 ohm coil between 22-25 watts for good vaper production that is not overly warm.

1.8 ish the pre builts I buy are the 1.8 so I would like to stay about there!

A 1.5mm 1.8 ohm coil is doable using 32g wire and a 6/5 wrap. The alignment of the coil and wick to the juice ports is the key to flavor. You can get proper alignment by finding the proper sized needle and using it all the way through the juice ports as well as the coil and wick to center it in position before you install the insulator and pin in the base of the coil.

Never liked oval coils myself.....
