I just ordered my first Opus today and it's already being shipped. I'm so happy! But I have some questions to ask and hope I can get the answers I need. Here goes....

1 - Can I use it as a Passthrough in the car if it's running out of power? Or will that shorten the total battery life?

2 - Can I use the Darwin charger I have in the car or do I need a different cable for charging the Opus?

3 - What is dna 20?

4 - Does it arrive partially charged?

5 - What email address do I need to inquire about getting a new Darwin battery?

Thanks in advance to whomever may be able to answer my questions. Can't wait to start reading more of this thread.

1- yes, but the output power might be limited depending on how low the battery is. When plugged in, it still vapes off of the internal battery (just pauses charging while the button is pressed), same way the Darwin works

2- Yes, any 5V mini USB charger will work, so your Darwin charger is fine

3- DNA20 is the name Brandon gave to the board. It's essentially the same thing as the Darwin's electronics, but the range is from 7 to 20 watts and has a different screen

4- Yes, it will be partially charged. Mine was almost full-charged when I got it. You'll probably still want to top it up before using it too much so you can get a full run time out of it, but it won't hurt anything

5- cs@evolvapor.com I still need to do that, myself

For car charging - NEVER - EVER start the car with anything plugged in. Lighter socket is not regulated (at least in most cars - could possibly be in some newer ones now that these sockets are more often used for electronics but I do not know for sure) and car start can send a surge of power thru it. Better safe than sorry.

All else, KJ1 is on the money.

Killjoy1, thank you for your excellent answers. It's exactly what I needed to know, and done so well! :)

And Nebula, thanks for the warning. A power surge of course had never crossed my mind. Very good to know.

Here's a thank you....I got the best pass-along I ever got the other day from my daughter. It's especially for those who love English. Hope you haven't seen it before.

Q: Why is English so much fun?

"All the faith he had had had had no effect on the outcome of his life."

A: Because that sentence makes perfect sense. :)

Thanks again guys!

Yes, I appreciated the precise answers too. Especially about that DNA question. I thought the police might be coming after me!

And Katdarling, if you dare to put a comma in that sentence, I WILL call the police! LOL

Ms. folk, I promise I won't commafy your sentence! I swear!!!!!!!

Of course I'll tell ya!

I DO have an Opus (his name is Opie). The Opus (original) is powered by a DNA12 chip and the Opus D, a DNA20.

Everything else? Ya mean like the Big Bang Theory and all things quantum physics related, cuz I COULD ya know (no, really, I could... it'd be mostly lies, but I'd do that for ya!).

Here's two fer you, and one fer Drew:

Drew, are ya ready for this? I grabbed this last Sunday. :D

You guys are getting way too silly. This is a serious thread here. You're posed to be talking about the Opus D so I can learn lots of things. So straighten up and start flying right! Right? Glad that's all settled. Well, here's my story if you'll so kindly listen up. :)

I received my first Opus D today when my first husband brought it in from the freezing cold mailbox outside. Well, lo and behold, I took it out of its box and it was all of about 10 degrees in my hand....soooo cold! But it's been sub-zero here so that's surely why. Well, it warmed up just fine and now feels great in my hand. Just like the one in my hand that I almost stole from the fellow at our local ecig shop. And he wonders why I carry a large purse? Really?! lol

Well, I've got it all set up now with what it looks best with, my Lil Mama black caps cartomizer with my Hazelnut ejuice. It's just divine. Like vaping the Darwin in a littler form. This is really the cat's meow. My two favorite Mods now are this beautiful black Opus and my black Provari mini. A little black box and a little black tube...the absolute perfect set-up. The best of the best.

Okay, now for a couple of serious questions. I too get a 0.0 Volt reading (Ohms are okay). So....from what all I've read here, do I need to let the Opus die completely before I recharge it? Is that the cure? So do I just vape it tomorrow till it's dead?

Another question. What's the difference between the DNA 12 and DNA 20? I don't know what that means. Thanks for any answers I can get from all you smart folks here.

Last but not least, I want to thank Drew for his speedy help the other day and also for his super speedy delivery of my Opus. I knew it would arrive just in time for the game tonight. (Poor Houston) And it did, to my great delight. And....to Drew, the gifts are going to be so greatly appreciated, they'll be blown away. And I will get all the glory. :) heh heh!

I really love the size of this thing. I still love my Darwin but I've always wanted Brandon to make something just as good but smaller. And in this Opus D he made the absolute perfect device. I am loving it!

I need to add a charging question. I charged the Opus D for the first time today after it was totally dead. (I did happen to notice that the Volts show only when the button is pressed so that's not an issue.) But....the LED never turned green. I kept waiting and waiting. Stayed red. I mean, after 6 hours I finally just took it off the charger and the display showed a full charge as best I could tell. But I don't want to have to be guessing all the time. The Opus charger says 500 Mah and the Darwin charger is 800 Mah. Should the Darwin charge it faster?
