Thanks for the fast reply. OK, then the dialing mechanism is similar to the Kick.
I guess I will be able to tell with taste how I will like it set and according to your information the watts from right to left.
well, yes and no. The kick has marked numbers for the settings. You have to look closely but there are actually lines from the numbers going in towards the potentiometer that show a more exact alignment for the pointer on the kick pot. some of thm turn at an angle so you have to look closely to see them. Also, from left to right, Kick goes from 5-10 watts.

Opus is also from left to right (see pic above "-" on left and "+" on right) but there are no numerical markings. However, not tough to figure out. half way is where the pointer in the pic is showing - directly pointed at the screw on the brass endcap - is 8.5 watts. Full left is 5 watts and the space between the far left anf the center screw is from 5-8.5 and from the screw to full right is 8.5 thru 12 watts. Easy turn and pot holds its position very well (unless you directly hit or move it).

Edit: well - left and right depend on which way you hold the device but, regardless, the dial turns left to lower and right to raise the watts.

I also hope I am wrong Allazar. It has been many months since Darwins have been flowing so I do hope the flood gates open up soon. Many have been waiting for months.

Yeah... I'm one of em... I've been stalking this forum with occasional posts since late March... and checking for them most days (missed a few but not many) and keep hoping for some word. I do understand though since Evolv has been busy with new products such as the dna, Kick, and the Opus. I had a chance to buy the first release of the Opus, but decided to wait for a Darwin. I'll probably wait as long as Labor Day before I give up. After that I will probably just go with VV instead since that would then be 6 months. ;).

I may never really miss the LCD screen, but I like things more precise than guessing... Just OCD that way I suppose! :D

Interesting, I've been traveling with the Opus for a week now and have really been enjoying it. I'm getting about a day and a half per charge mostly using 2 ohm cartos in a 3ml tank. I also use a 3 ohm Cisco 306 when I want to drip, and find that I almost prefer to dial in the vape rather than going to a setting like on the Darwin. It's a great in-the-car device, small and fits well in the hand. The Vaperfexion tanks and drip shields fit well, the liquinator tank hits the watt dial and I have to move it up a bit but it still works great. The hit is excellent, consistent and strong each time with no drop off through the charge. The only complaint I have is that the included charger is slow to charge. With a 1 amp car charger it only takes a couple of hours to fully charge, takes almost all night with the ac charger. Minor complaint but I prefer to use my iPhone ac adapter with a USB cable to charge since it is faster. All in all a really nice device and has been a great travel companion.
