I have an ipv D2 & D3, and my understanding is that the ipv D2 doesn't have good step-down. With a new battery, it's going to be running more power than it indicates. That might account for what you're experiencing. I don't know about step-down on the Cloupor.
My ipv is a D2. So that is what is going on..lack of step down? What are ways around it?

@chanelvaps. I looked up the Cloupor mini, and I've read that it doesn't have step-down, either. What that means is that, with a new battery, your 1.1 build is going to be running at over 15W, even if it says 12W. That might account for part of what you're experiencing.

Otherwise, I'd say close down the AF a bit, but if it's not happening with your other mods, that probably wouldn't help.

I'm not sure that's much help, but it might be your mods.
Thank you for this helpful information. At least I know what to call it. Tired of feeling like I am not building something right. Anybody know of Mods that have step down? What words am I looking for when I look at product description? Again, thanks so much for your help

That might be what's going on. It would make the most sense to me if you're experiencing the problem with a particular tank only on some mods. I THINK I saw a post about a work around -- setting it in TC mode or something. If I can find it, I'll post it.

The D2 doesn't have stepdown, the 30W Cloupor Mini doesn't have stepdown, the 50W Cloupor Mini+ does have stepdown.

The Cloupor Mini+ TC is an awesome little device, I generally run a Kayfun on it around 14 watts and it's perfect. Made of stainless steel, tiny, comes in a variety of durable colors, comes with silicone sleeve. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I asked that question a few months ago. Will try to find it for you.

The D2 will not step down below 3.6V so to get a 12W vape you need to have a 1.1ohm or higher coil, a 0.8 will not go lower than 16W, a 0.6 no lower than 22W and a 0.2ohm starts at 65W :D

None of that applies in TC mode.

Ugghh..need help. All suggestions/feedback greatly appreciated.
I have several pieces of equipment. IPV's, Cloupor etc. Things that go to high wattage but I do not go high. I like to vape around 12 watts. With these aforementioned pieces of equipment I occasionally get blasted burning hits. The watts are set where I like them but there it is ...every once in awhile a burning hot hit.
I do not get this with my original Istick (20watts) or my Vamo's (15watts)
Is there something I am not setting correctly? It is like the battery sets the device to BLAST without my consent

The older IPVs' and Cloupors' abilities to buck (or step down) are highly questionable. Keep your attys at 1.4Ω and higher and you should have no problems regulating at 12W. Good luck!

In the same vein as the D2 and Cloupor Mini is the Joyetech eVic VTC Mini; small in stature, step-down, single 18650, TC options galore. I love mine and recommend it highly.

Have you seen a workaround for lack of step-down? It recall something about setting something in joule mode on the D2. I found one post that referenced it, but I didn't understand it as it was written.

I've heard only good things about the VTC mini, but my favorite is the Presa 75W. It's got the same chip as the VTC mini, but my hands find its shape more comfortable, and my carpel tunnel is grateful for the firing button being the full face of the mod. It can usually be found for a bit less than the VTC mini, too.

From what I understand is you put the D2 in TC Ti01 Mode, Temp Max, Joules to lowest to start.
Put your atty with a 0.5 ohm Kanthal build on it (for example) and lock the resistance. Now you should be able to get what you set on the screen, if you set it for 15J you should have roughly 15W.

Switching that back to power mode, the 15W setting will be more like 25W

I got a 250ml 6mg/ml bottle of 100% PG unflavored base in from ecigexpress. Haven't cracked it open yet. Since I always vape 80/20 PG/VG anyway, figured trying the 100% PG nic base was worthwhile since so cheap ($9.99?), plus not having to buy & mix base + nicotine separately seemed like another bonus. They have the same thing in 100% VG also.
Can you put on a link for that vg for me please I need it...and thats a dang good price.changing the subject for a sec I just went to my local vape shop and got my obnoxious purple vape pen_ finally been wanting one forever!!! It is a kanger subvod awesome tootle puffing I must say!!!it does not have adjustable wattage but at full charge does 38 watts- I am so pleased with it, that I am puffing away! They gave me a huge discount and threw in a bottle of house juice too, plus it takes the same coils as my nebox ,and when I tried to tip them they refused to take it!! Nice to know there are still southern gentleman in the south!oh I almost forgot they also gave me an extra tank free too, talk about service,ok am done bragging now but those guys make me want to buy the whole store will post a pic soon hope everyone is having a hell of a tootle puffin time I know I am

I have one of those put away somewhere-brand new and RED. So are you saying it is reliable for its ability to step down?

Yes, very much so. I just double-checked. It seems to fire reliably down to 1 volt. That should serve your needs quite well... Let me emphasize that keeping your IPV & Cloupor builds above 1.4Ω would also solve your issues. They are fine devices; just not so much for tootling at lower resistances. A 28g KA1, 2.5mm, 8-wrap will give you 1.5Ω. Good luck! We're here if you need us.

    Certainly: http://www.ecigexpress.com/diy-e-liquid/e-liquid-bases.html
You'd want to look at whatever Nicotine Strength you're wanting, any of the __mg Unflavored Nicotine Base items, then on the product page is where you select the Size and BASE Type (PG, VG, and they also offer a couple VG/PG mixes as well).
