Funny I was just thinking the same thing. Especially the part concerning fables and myth.
As a Catholic we call that practice "Cafeteria Catholicism". Picking parts of the teachings of the Church and rejecting others. I don't believe that when God said the Jews were His "Chosen people" He didn't mean forever. Isn't that what the Bible teaches, that forever means forever? God did say that they were "forever' His chosen people. Maybe I am completely wrong on this, but it is what I believe even if Southern Gent thinks it is fables and myth. We can just agree to disagree on this subject. If we are arguing this point here, is there any wonder why there is a war being fought every single day in Israel?

I am going to agree with SaintCruiser and BlondeAmbition3. I don't believe I am reading or believing fables and myths. I believe I am reading the word of God. I can either believe ALL of it or NONE of it, there is no in between when it comes the the word of God and His Bible.

AMEN! This is the only post here that I understood as the truth. None of us here are palestinians or israelies. This is not a salvation matter, and it's not something that should cause division among brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
If it does, then satan is winning in causing division between Jesus's own people. I think we are stronger then that..........
Look, we are all people here. Just human beings. None of us is above the other, we are all the same under the blood of Jesus, and we are all imperfect, and we are all sinful. Not one here is perfect, but we all do belong to the same family.
Do family members squabble and disagree? All the time! Ask my mother! LOL! But what makes us different is that we love eachother anyway, come together anyway, forgive freely before even being asked. That's what makes us FAMILY. That does not mean we will agree on everything as we are people, but we don't let those agreements turn into something worse.
I hope ya'll can do the same because through GRACE we are saved, not knowledge or interpretation.

really bad argument.....basically you are saying that every conclusion you draw from reading scripture carries equal weight.....this ignores two possibilities.....one that God may have intended certain things in scripture to be more important than others (for example, the means of salvation versus how many horses Solomon had in his stable) and two, that you are not correct in your conclusions of what is actually IN the scriptures.....
and repeatedly in scripture, when Israel didn't carry out it's part of the covenant what was the result?......do you believe Israel is currently carrying out it's part of the covenant with Abraham?......
you see, that is why I asked you if you believed Christ could return if Israel didn't hold possession of the Middle East.....you all said yes, but have just proven you do not......unfortunately you have shown that you believe your ability to define what the scriptures say is more powerful than Jesus Christ.....Christ has said you will not know the time or place of his return, yet you devote your time to showing him wrong.......
That's an interesting way to look at it, never thought about it like that before........lol. But I guess you're right about that.
I think that most Christians are so eager to see Jesus return that they/we are always trying to figure it out, myself included. I think that's a natural reaction.
But we do have to remember and always keep in mind that we are just humans and none of us really know for sure and we have to keep our eye on the prize, which is God and His Kingdom because if we don't, and we allow ourselves to get side tracked with times/dates/ details, we might not be a part of it in the end.I'll tell you something else too. I'm a member of this huge christian forum online. Over there, there is so much arguing that it doesn't even resemble a christian forum. You wouldn't even know it if it weren't for the scriptural references in the posts.
I mean, name calling, insults, constant bickering about things that don't really even matter. Every once in a while I"ll point that out and everyone just ignores it and keeps on fighting. It's so ridiculous and I know satan is laughing his head off while Jesus's people continue to insult eachother and find fault with the other one's thinking or perspective on a subject.
I always just end up shaking my head and leaving because it's so ridiculous, and by arguing about a topic, they are forgetting Jesus's main commandment to love eachother.

I agree Lisa. While I love the Brethren, I am vexed on all sides by them. It's more important to be 'doers' of the word.
After reading everyone's positions on this subject of who or whom Israel rightfully belongs to, I thought I should add that according to the book of Mormon the United States rightfully belongs to the Arab since the American Indian is from the seed/lineage of Ishmael. Should I pack my bags and prepare to leave? (lol)
Well raise my rent! I did not know that. I know that they also believe that Jesus and satan are brothers and there is a heavenly mother as well as a heavenly father as there can be no son unless there is a mother.
