Curious question: I am assuming that their will be a random number drawing to determine the winner. Is it going to be a 'pick a number between 1 and 100 and the winner is the person with the closest number to the drawn number' deal? If that is the case then who wins in a split (for example: at the moment someone has 19 and another person has 21... who wins if the number 20 is drawn?)

I guess I'm just a little confused as to the logistics behind this awesome contest...

Wouldn't it make more sense to put all of the numbers chosen into a hat, and then drawing one winning number from those that are included?

random number drawing to determine the winner usually implies one that come closest with out going over.
IE in example #20 drawn, 21 would not win but 19 would..... HTH :)

I vote for 30 numbers into a random generated hat. Right now I have NLT 6 numbers that would win for me, but many only have one. I say keep drawing until the exact number comes up.

Of course, no one listens to me (doesn't stop me from shoving my 2c in).

This works as long as you drop the "without going over" part.

I'm sure those who picked in the 90's would' likely have taken a different number if they were aware this method was being used.

This can be accomplished with no tie if The Hat is used.
Only the numbers actually chosen, can be entered, to win.

Good question. I expect exact hit, but whatever a squirrel does is by definition random :)

I don't know what this has to do with anything, but it seems to be the latest craze... and when I saw this vid, I realized that it was shot in one of the buildings right next door to me... LOL!!

(they can be quite demanding, you know... so I guess this is one way of making them earn it!!)

It could also be accomplished with an actual hat (or box, or bag) and slips of paper. It's called "analogue" and it's the way we did things when television and radio were entertaining, 'cable' was something you needed to make a phone call and gas was freaking expensive ("$1 a gallon? You have GOT to be kidding me").

But I realize that was before most people on this site were born...

pwyll, there will be no problem - remember the squirrel is in charge, lol

i think the online number generator became popular because it could be taped and posted so all could see it was fairly done.
that won't be needed here, chelle is in charge and there is nobody more honest as far as i'm concerned.
