That was a gratuitous Battlestar Galactica reference....

Sorry, didn't catch that one.

I saw this posted on another forum, I have to have a relative die soon so I can afford my mod habit (j/k-somewhat!!!), I want this one, too!!! It was from Cesar -- do I get a bump in line for the update?!?!?!? Or no cuts????

Hi folks, sorry for taking some time off the internet.

To clear all the questions: that rubber ring was just a prop.

Joking aside (about all the questions), there have been a few major improvements to the L v2.

First and most important is another safety feature: if one would use 2x18350 batts and we all know that the Chinese specs are really up to +/- 5mm, especially in thickness and the battery near the top cap would suffer a breakdown by some weird cause (as there is a software monitoring of the battery voltage too), some gasses could accumulate if a too thick battery was used on the bottom half of the tube. The new safety feature would pop the tube bottom and let the gasses expand. The hard part was to find a solution that would free the pressure before being accumulated to much. All already made tubes were redesigned so this ate a lot of time. I couldn't tell you about this before as that would have meant that I won't release the Precious before this was solved so everybody would think that it won't be produced ever. (Not that it didn't happen anyway.)

Second feature is the completely waterproof top cap with electronics. This will be demonstrated in a video before this weekend I hope. You can wash the entire Precious (taking batteries out beforehand) and put it back together right away.

I hope to have more time and tell you about all the small details that got overlooked in the L v2 change log.

Thanks,
C.

Personally I think Caesar got that avs perfectly. He's a perfectionist and takes pride in his work so I know when we finally get to test it out, it's going to raise the bar for everyone else. It's taken this long because he's been busy working perfecting it, talk bout patents-he should patent his because everyone is going to want to copy it.
