Back to a couple days ago (I think - it's all a blur):
I finally emptied and cleaned my Russian.
As you may know, I HATE coiling and wicking if it can be avoided.
What's in there now is a 1.4 ohm coil, with what I think is XC-116, though it's possible it's Ekowool - but it rinsed clean, so I'm leaving it.

But following some tips, I did:
- trim the ends a little shorter
- added a wisp of cotton, over the top of the coil and dipping down towards the channels
I figure EVEN I can manage swapping that out every couple tanks if it improves the vape.

So far, it seems to be
- wicking a little better, haven't cranked it up, but also haven't had anything resembling a dry hit
- a slightly "smoother" flavor. It was a touch off before, and now it's just kind of...well, smooth. Not STRONG, but nice.

Bottom line - if I find the cotton "overwick" will last a couple tanks, I'll probably keep doing this.
Oh - and it's straight simple cotton ball cotton. So little that I don't think I'd go buy special cotton for this use...

Yeah I am glad I decided to try this a few weeks ago, I had been using the cotton over the top for quite a while, and figured it was worth a try. I just set up another one, this way. :)

I haven't purchased the glass from Spectrum for the nano kit. I just remember someone in another thread, a while back, mentioned they had them. It didn't even occur to me to ask if it would fit any vendors aftermarket kit. I guess one should check with Spectrum before purchasing one.

Currently murtcepS only lists the tubes for the Tarsius Quartz kit on the Spectrum Tanks site. Initially he had both the Tarsius and the Rainbow Heaven listed separately however he was getting complaints that the Rainbow Heaven tubes left a gap, come to find out it wasn't the tubes, there is a slight difference in size between the Tarsius Kit and the Rainbow Heaven Kit. Soon he will have the Rainbow Heaven tubes fitted exact and will be back up on his site again.

I have several of the first run of his tubes and four Rainbow Heaven Quartz kits however none of my Kayfun's are originals, they are all clones and I have had to add an insulator to the top of the chimney on some of them to make the vacuum within the tank. I have two R91's and the RH kits with Spectrum tanks worked well on both of those, I just didn't like the mixed finish.

Also just to add, Spectrum included a different set of O-rings to replace the ones that come with the RH kit to secure a better fit. Here are a couple of the pics:

I have joined the name changers....just to confuse everyone....Actually, I wanted to do so about a week after joining.

Damn, MC started a trend! That or there's a breakout of multiple-personality disorder around here ;)

YES and it's confusing the hell out of me!

Mine is the rat... Exciting huh? (bleh... and the other zodiak is a crab... I just really hit the Zodiac lottery)

Just checked mine cuz I've never looked that up before. I'm a horse and so is my husband. Kinda wild cuz the descriptions it gave really hits it for both of us.

The other Zodiac, I'm an Aquarius and he's a Taurus. He is bull headed so that fits him too.
