Is she in PA? If so, what part? Unfortunately I know about every facility there is. I'm guessing she's on Medicare? There have been a lot of CMS changes since Obama has been in office (not a political debate...just the facts). The benefits under the Medicare umbrella have been decreased, whether it's Medicare A (for hospital, SNF, etc stays) or Medicare B (for Dr's visits). I'm willing to bet she was in the hospital under 60 days, right? The first 60 days are covered, but then there's a $304 co-pay per day for days 61-90 and it goes up from there. That's in addition to the deductible of $1216 for each hospital stay. They always transfer them to a SNF and it's paid for the first 20 days, then $152 per day from days 21-100.
The problem is that under Medicare guidelines, a person is only covered for 150 days at a hospital...total. There is no reset, it's cumulative. I won't get into the nitty gritty specifics, you can thank me now for that
It's a messed up system and less and less Dr's are accepting Medicare because they can't be reimbursed for so many things, and if they are...the reimbursement is so low. If she's in a room at the nursing home, then technically she's "checked in". It's not the same as a hospital check in, but when she enters the facility then she's their responsibility. Period. Have you talked with the DON or the Administrator to find out what happened? That would be my first step. Investigate what went wrong, what they are going to do to correct it, the plan of care, etc.

Yea she is from Pittsburgh area. We got a nice place for her to go but have to wait on a room there.

Went to Pawn Stars on Las Vegas Blvd today. Anyone watch that show?? Anywho, I thought there might be some used ProVarii but didn't see any. In fact, I didn't even see any vapers. That surprised me considering the clientele. Only tourists.
