Some interesting comments about PG for smoke production here at Planet Christmas, probably info elsewhere on their site. This esp. caught my attention: "The resulting smoke should not smell 'burnt'. If it does, likely causes are too high of an operating temperature or too much glycerin/glycol/mineral oil in the mixture."

Did you see that note in your link that red food coloring, for instance, could produce red fog? Quite awhile ago, I tried that for smoke liquid. Food coloring is nothing but colored propylene glycol. It smokes fine. I envisioned snorting red vapor from each nostril! Or puffing green vapor at an environmental group's meeting.

OMG, now that's a good prank to pull on someone. If you know someone besides yourself who e-smokes. 
Amazon has something call "Humidor Activator Solution - Premixed Bottle" of propylene glycol. It's an 8oz bottle used to control the humidity in humidors (i think). Does anyone know if this can be used in smoke juice?
Today I came across some tobacco flavouring liquid called Tasty Puff. They have loads of great looking flavours and their website (http://tastypuff.com) says "All ingredients in Tasty Puff are approved for use in a regulation of the FDA or are listed as G.R.A.S on a reliable industrial list."
I was thinking that since they have been approved to use this stuff for burning and inhaling it might be safe to use in an ecig. Has anybody tried it? I've ordered some vegetable glycerine but can't yet find natural food flavouring that doesn't use alcohol in the UK. Tasty Puff is available here and might just be what I'm looking for.
I've emailed the manufacturers to ask what's in it and I'll let you know if they reply.

Macfan, don't use that stuff. It is for humidors and may or may not be of a grade and quality to consume. Remember, you're going to suck it into your lungs. You need top quality stuff. PG is a humectant that maintains about 70 percent relative humidity in a humidor for pipe tobacco or cigars. Keep in mind that lesser quality PG is used in things like anti-freeze. You want good stuff!

Good question - I never thought about that - I've had mine for a couple of months now and haven't. Where's TB???
Accordeur is correct! Extracts don't need refrigerating -- and some mellow and improve even after years of storage (cult followings on how vanilla beans improve flavor with time). Same for pipe tobacco -- some fanatics have stuff that has aged for a decade. Tastes better, they say. It's only nicotine solutions that we use that need protection from light, air and heat. Those don't lose strength in a dark, cool storage place.
Made my first flavor mixtures with no nicotine.
1) 5 cc of PG and 5 cc of Blueberry
2) 5 cc pf PG and 5 cc of Caramel.
Both are pleasant.
As I go along I'm going to add more extract to the mixture so I can get the most of the flavor. I'm assuming at some point by changing the %'s one is not going to get a pleasant taste and/or not as much vapor.
BTW, the blueberry is a clear liquid so no blueteeth that Top.Bob mentioned.

Hey everyone - just spoke with John from Bickford's. I talked with him last week about e-cigarettes and explained that e-smokers are ordering from them, but need extracts that are not soy oil based.
If you don't order the 4 pack combos of one oz. bottles, which are usually a combination of PG based and soy oil based, you must order a 4 oz. bottle. He set it up with the "powers that be" for us to order custom packs of 4 one oz. bottles. There will be a drop down menu to check if the chosen flavor is oil or water based. These custom packs will sell for $14.95. He said the web site will be set up for this today probably around 5:30 or 6:00 PM Ohio time. I'm very thankful that John took a special interest in us!

Thats great news Janet - thanks. I already had to go back last week and order more coffee - this time though I got the 4oz bottle - LOL
The custom packs are now available. I don't think the list is complete though, so I wll call John again and let him know. I know he spent a lot of time setting this up, so there's probably just a few kinks that need worked out.
