The real reason i quit smoking cigarettes

i hope that people benefit from this if you are thinking about quiting the cancer sticks. I was just out of college and working a 9-5 monday through friday in an ER. at the time i had been smoking for around 10 years. i met my wife to be and about 1 1/2 years later we were engaged. i always played sports and am very active / in shape. but the smoking was taking a toll on my breathing and every morning when i woke up the coughing was ridiculous. upon hacking my poor lungs up one morning i noticed a wierd feeling in the back of my throat, almost like a sore throat but in one spot in particular (not my entire throat). we have a good family friend that is our dentist so i called him and asked if he could take a look.

when i saw my dentist, he said that it is a little white lump/cyst at the back of my throat, he said it probably isnt anything but he would feel more comfortable if i went to see a Ear Nose and Throat specialist(i worked with him). so i spoke to the ENT specialist that night at work and he did a quick look over, before i knew it he was cutting a piece of my throat out at work so he could send it out for a biopsy.

came back negative for cancer. buttttttt, The ENT is a very intelligent guy and wanted me to make an acutal appointment so he could take a "deep tissue" sample. so after telling me this, he put a stitch where the biopsy was taken from and sent me on my way back down the hall to work. i made an appointment the next day and he took another biopsy sample(deep tissue), sent me on my way with another stitch and i called it a day. the ENT doc came up to me while i was working one night (about 3-4 days later) and asked for my help. he did it in a manner that i figuered he needed help with a patient or something. When we got to the empty room i was puzzled, i turned to him with a funny look on my face wondering where the patient was and he just told me to sit down.

IT HIT ME, RIGHT THEN AND THERE, he didnt even have to say anything. He told me i had a granular cell tumor and would need to see if it had made its way to my nodes yet. we made another appointment to see if it had gone to my nodes and luckily it hadnt yet, so right then and there i was preped for surgery to remove this tumor from my throat. i have been cancer free for years now. the process was horrible. luckily i didnt have to undergo other treatment options like some other people have to. (radiation). i am greatful that he could cut it out. As i digress, i want to convey one message to people looking to quit smoking that are finding there way to this forum. it took me getting cancer to stop.

STOP, as soon as you can. please do yourself a favor and try vaping. it is not if you are going to get cancer, it is when...
