fair enough. So the eliquids, even after vaped and lingering in ones hair/throat/whatever will smell much closer to the sweet "cigar room" type smell, is what I'm hearing?

That would be my guess. It would also depend on what else is in the liquid. For example, a tobacco that has caramel undertones in it may leave a hint of caramel scent, if any scent at all. Vapor and smoke behave very differently and it's just as likely that he won't smell anything on you at all.

None of mine smell anything like tobacco - including cigars! They usually smell of fruit, caramel, custard, etc. I guess it might depend what you're vaping, but I've never smelled anything remotely resembling tobacco (and nor has my daughter - she would tell me LOL)

I actually hadn't, because this is a difficult subject to discuss with him to begin with - my thought process so far has been to try to be as respectful and pleasant about it as possible, and if he hates a flavor I use I'll use use it at a time that he won't have to deal with it.

Though, I suppose I do know what sorts of flavors he likes, so I'll keep those in mind when I place my next liquid order.

How had I not thought of that? Too simple for consideration. Geez. Lol! Thank you!

And you're nicer than me obviously. My hubby vapes too but if he told me I couldn't do it around him, he'd just have to leave the room.

Seriously though, try some fruity flavors (watermelon, strawberry, strawberry shortcake, apple, piña colada) or there are even ones that smell like Red Bull and different candies. I bet he wouldn't mind those at all.

Tobacco flavorings with honey flavor added will reek of urine so I would stay away from those. Other than that anything that has a strong smell whether vaping or eating will leave a smell coming up from your mouth/throat/lungs... ie: cinnamon, cloves, licorice, mint... you get the idea. One possible solution for you is to vape something with cinnamon in it (use pyrex of course) and then just chew gum like dentyne. He'll think its just your gum.

I've had my wife tell me the tobacco flavors I have smell disgusting. She likes the fruity/candly flavors I have and doesn't even mind the Minty ones. Everyone is different.

But before you decide to spend a bunch of money on flavors you might not like because they appeal to someone else, first buy flavors you like. Once you find ones that you'll stick with, sit him down and have a talk. Take a pull or 2, and exhale away from him. Ask him how he feels about the smell. If he doesn't like it, move on to a different flavor. that way, you'll be happy witht he taste and he'll be happy with the smell.

Now, to be clear, I won't be lying to him. But my partner hates the smell of smoke, hates the taste of smoke, hates the idea even. He's okay with me vaping, but wants me to avoid doing it around him (which I can understand and respect).

So my question is, if I vape outside, on my way home, to and from work, etc - will he still be able to detect any sort of unpleasant smell or taste from me? Even days after I smoke an actual cig, he says he my "throat smells like cigarette smoke." I know that sounds crazy, but I've always said he has the nose of a pregnant woman.

So - will he be able to tell? And if so, any suggestions on least objectionable eliquids? :)

The best possible answer I can give to the op is to dump him as fast as possible. lol

The guy that runs Killer Juice, Walt, is a flavor artist, and does water flavoring, popcorn flavoring, icings, etc - something you could do is order two bottles of every flavor you want to try; one as a popcorn coating, and one as a ejuice. Assuming your guy likes flavored popcorn. ;)

He's also posted his popcorn glaze recipe in his thread on here, and it's pretty easy!

The strong cinnamon vapes set off my hubby's asthma. His favorite lavender & peach air freshener gave me migraines. It smelled like burning hair to me. Some coffee vapes smell like burnt Starbucks &/or skunk to both of us and those will stick to your skin for some reason.

Hubby & youngest son like the fruity ones best--raspberry, strawberry, peach, pineapple.

I'm mostly concerned about smells lingering on ME - when I smoke actual cigarettes, he says that the back of my throat smells like cigarette smoke. Weird, I know, but that's how he describes it.
So even the tobacco liquids tend not to smell like actual tobacco to outsiders, but more just sweet?

Stickin' his nose into the "back of your throat" is he? The guy loves ya - no doubt and obviously has a keen 'sniffer' (kept very clean no doubt). He objects to ciggie-.... after-smell even though odds are it was from OUR mouth, teeth, gums, lips, sinus passages - all the places - including the throat that WAS (no longer .... pat-pat-pat on the hiney) exposed to 'smoke'.

So - logically all those places are exposed to 'vapor' and the potential to be evident to non-smokers exists. Is it 'objectionable'? You 'vape' tobacco flavors -which as you know are a poor substitute for the 'real deal' in taste. Reports from my wife, son and daughter-in-law were, "NO. It does NOT smell like a "cigarette"; not even close.

Like you - I was concerned I was suddenly "stinkin' up the house' -- especially because I ALWAYS smoked outside. I CAN "smell" the "sweet odor" of the mixed 'juice' when I fill the 'tanks'. It is not in the least 'nasty' to me and considering that now after only TWO MONTHS of vaping (to the day in fact) when I smell a real cigarette - it truly "stinks" - I would think his VERY SENSITIVE "throat sniffer" WILL detect an "odor".

WILL IT BOTHER HIM? The only sure-fire way is to discuss it with (tell) him, "we need to test and see if you smell anything OBJECTIONABLE - not simply SMELL SOMETHING - but a VERY SPECIFIC "OBJECTIONABLE" clarifier. Should he not want to "smell ANYTHING" at all on your breath, clothes or in your vehicle" - logically and out of FAIRNESS to YOU I would think HE needs to reassess his "demands". Being that picky and demanding - unless due to real medical condition (perfumes and colognes make ME gasp for breath) is not FAIR to YOU.

YOU are attempting to stop a nasty and deadly HABIT; you know and he damned well should know is not easy to do. He should be supporting - not placing obstacles in YOUR way!

Senile Old Man Donnie .....

PERFECT EXAMPLE of folks "smelling" different "smells". I vape a Black Tobacco with Honey and it does NOT in any way smell of "urine" to ME. My wife says it's a "quick sweet smell" that disappear very quickly. We all could vape the same juice - write down what we each 'tasted and smelled' and a good number would be vastly different from the others. There is NO way everyone likes or dislikes every juice another may rave about or give the thumbs down on; NO way.

Senile Old Man Don ............ and trust me ...... I KNOW "urine" when I smell it!8-o:wub::D
