...I have enough to make at least 150-200 mls more RY4 Double juice. And then it's only what---$7---to ante up for another bottle. Jeez, with two liters of retail RY4s and another liter of DIY RY4s (from pre-mixes or from scratch), I'll probably never need to buy any more RY4 Double....

Bill - What do you do when you want to get away from RY4 or even tobacco?

RY1-4.0

Recently I have posted regarding flavors exhibiting some dryness in their taste. What cued me to this began with my mixing of a batch of Hangsen RY1. It seemed quite dry. As well, I've desired at times to have the Vanilla and Caramel flavors of RY4 come through a bit more.

Recently I decided to play with my RY1 a bit. I found I had FlavourArt Caramel and Vanilla Bourbon flavorings. My RY1 was mixed at about 3%. I calculated the amounts of Caramel and Vanilla Bourbon to mix to create an alteration to take the RY1 to 2% and Carmel and Vanilla to 2% each. I also added FlavourArt Vape Wizard to 1%. This mix is around 70/30 PG/VG and 24 mg/ml.

The mix came put pretty good. Well, perhaps just okay by the high standards of this RY4 thread. The Caramel and Vanilla Bourbon flavors are too strong and too standout-ish for anything along the line of Classic RY4s. The tobacco is down from it's 3%, but a fair amount of the dryness continues to be apparent. I think it must be the Vanilla that imparts a very slight bit of something that reminds me of Skydancer RY4 NET v11.

2% Hangsen RY1
2% FlavourArt Vanilla Bourbon
2% FlavourArt Caramel
1% FlavourArt Vape Wizard

I don't know yet where I'm move the mix next, but I do believe I'll work with it some more.

Here's some RY4 history courtesy of KentC (thank you sir!). I'm curious and excited to see how the old-school Janty RY4 compares to the Janty DK RY4 I have. Side-by-side testing shall commence shortly!

Welcome RPad!

One Louder seems interesting.

Oops! My memory went south again. I wrote that One Louder is coffee, walnut, and raisin. Scratch raisin. It's strong coffee, black walnut, and whiskey. But trust me, it's delicious. VaporJam uses all natural ingredients. All their juices are sophisticated and beautifully mixed. No crude flavors. Just surprising and wonderful concoctions. For instance, In Halin' is chocolate dipped pear with black currants. Sounds odd, right? Well, it's great. The juicemakers at VaporJam are true artisans.

Order direct from VaporJam, $6 for 10mls, $14 for 30mls, plus $2.75 shipping. Link: One Louder at VaporJam.

Not to take money out of VaporJam's pocket, but it's much cheaper right now at Vapok, an online juice supermarket that sells selected retail juices from nine different vendors: deejStuff, Dekang, Halo, LIQUA, MisterELiquid, MountainOakVapor, Vape-a-licious, Vapor Jam, and VirginVapor. Vapok carries six of VaporJam's juices.

Vapok's complete selection of juices is on sale this month at 50% off---for VaporJam juices, that's $2.50 for a 10ml bottle. Shipping is pricey at $5.95, so it helps to buy a bunch of juices. I got three 10ml bottles of One Louder for $10 shipped. Link: VaporJam One Louder at Vapok. Use coupon code: <July50off>.

MOV Full Virginia Flake RY4 earns the high grade of A- on The RY4 Report Card for a very good reason: It's a superb NET-based Custom RY4.

Ok, Ok... I couldn't help myself... A fresh micro coiled 1.5ohm / cotton wick in my modded A-7- on my Reo Grand... MOV Virginia Flake RY4 is... AT THIS POINT the holy grail for me; it's exactly what I've spent years looking for! Now... .the test for me will be just how long I can vape this before that nasty ashtray taste kicks in. This is what ruins most NET's for me. It is, however one of the most lightest, most translucent NET RY4's I've come across, so I hold out hope for this one. I'm digging the classic caramel/vanilla/tobacco!

I find that the darker NET's just don't do well for me. Most of these are not filtered well and too many particulates seem to kick that ashtray taste in prematurely. MOV Virginia Flake RY4 looks really well filtered- while retaining solid tobacco taste.

Randy,

Compared to most people, I have a simple, sparse life. At the "old fart" age of 63, I have no wife (no ex-wives, either, just lots of ex-lovers from long, long ago), no kids, no busy schedule for work (I'm semi-retired, the "semi" part being permanent, since I'm not wealthy enough to ever retire for real---luckily, I can pay the bills working from home about 15 hours a week) or socializing (I have lots of dear friends, but they're long-distance; few of them live in this tiny Oregon coast town). Except for my profligate spending on vaping, I live very frugally, like a monk.

I live alone in a wonderful, spacious apartment attached to a house in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. This is what I see as I sit at my living room couch/desk and look out the back of my apartment (all windows):

View.jpg geese1.jpg backyardview4.jpg

Canada geese grazing in my backyard, then the 300-foot-wide Siuslaw River in its last rush from the coastal mountains to the sea, then the biggest sand dune you've ever seen, on the other side of which is the Pacific Ocean (which I can hear but not see). No houses, no cars, no people. Just nature.

The upshot of all this is a peaceful life (in spite of everything---serious health issues, the disturbed state of the world, etc.), which allows me to indulge my vaping hobby/habit/pleasure.

Wonderful view you have there Bill :toast:

I finally gathered up the cojones to vape the 8%DRY4+.9%AP+2.5%DoubleChoc ... holy cow, that didn't go well at all. It completely dried up the whole flavor, and it now tastes like dirt. It's going into the steeping "ICU" and will check back in a couple of weeks in case a miracle happens, and it probably won't. Learn from losing, and I will keep trying.

My search for the best "RY4" is finally over! Clouds of Vapor's COV4 is my "holy grail" of RY4's!!

SKYY,

Glad to read that you found your pot of gold at the end of the RY4 rainbow! COV4 is a very rich, very Custom RY4 with a distinctive tobacco and big-time caramel/vanilla that won't let go. Totally at the other end of the flavor spectrum from the lean, sparse profile of a Classic RY4. COV4 is all flavor. I'll move it up half a grade in the RY4 Report Card just because you love it.

[I love that COV juices are mostly all-VG, with a good selection of all-natural and organic juices in their line-up. COV makes one of my personal favorite synthetic tobacco blends---Black and Tan. I've been vaping that for two years solid. It's the juice I keep loaded in a 5-volt passthrough in my car and vape while driving.]

I've been on a bit of an arti-bacco kick. I'll order Black and Tan and the COV4 RY4. I see they also have.. Honeysuckle Tobacco. That sounds like it could be amazing, or not. Try that one yet?

Lately for my on-the-go eVod vape I've been mixing together Janty DK RY4 and Highbrow English Malt Toffee. DK is good to me occasionally when dripping, but usually more sour than I like. EMT is just way too.. something. I can't handle it unless I add something that has some bright, high notes, which balances it into something I like. Together, it's a rare Frankenvape where the sum works way better than the parts for me. I love them together, MY TE4R is quite the mix.

Jerms,

No, I've had a couple of Honeysuckle sample bottles from different vendors, but they weren't my thing. So no, I haven't bought or vaped any COV Honeysuckle Tobacco.

Your TE4R sounds terrific! I don't have any Highbrow English Malt Toffee, but I just atty-drip-mixed two drops of Janty DK4 with two drops of BWB Malty Toffee. Together they reminded me of Jane's Toasted Toffee from ECSI, which a nearly-but-not-quite-RY4 and has been a compelling juice for me for quite a long time.

I've had one honeysuckle juice before and it's a flavor I like. With tobacco.. not so sure about that. Willing to give it a try though.

Not sure if you've tasted Highbrow's EMT, but the only thing similar about it to BWB's MT is the name. EMT was highly suggested to me by Scarfy, and I can see why some would love it, very unique flavor. It's been an odd one for me, kind of a kicker when I first tried it, almost couldn't handle it. It's too _______ for me, but can't fill in the blank. It's a strong flavor, but I wouldn't say too strong because even diluted with vg it's still too _______. Thought maybe too intense or too rich, but those don't quite seem to fit either. Luckily, a little bit of a bright juice mixed was a fix for me. Started with Highbrow's Orange de Sangre, and was surprised at how little I could add before EMT was palatable.

That mix is good, but MY TE4R is OMG good. I'm really sensitive to the sour in DK, and it's almost the only thing I notice in it at times. The EMT levels it, and seems to make the caramel richer while bringing the other flavors into focus, so I can notice the other flavors I love from my prefered Janty's Classic RY4. I've been adding both DK and EMT to my eVod in random ratios, and it works great whether I go with mainly EMT or mainly DK. I think I prefer MY TE4R with more DK though. One thing I've found out about Frankenjuicing, two bads don't make a good, but juices that only have one thing that's holding it back for me can do great with another juice that balances it out.
