I am not aware that Dekang makes RY4 for Volt or Bloog.

There is absolutely no way I can wade through 400 pages, so I'll just ask, and I'm sorry if this a common question:

Volt's RY4, is that Dekang? Does anyone know who produces the RY4 for Smokeless Image's Volt products? Not NicQuid, but rather, the "Volt" prefilled cartos and bottles.

Thanks!

Today I had the pleasure of attending the 'soft opening' of a new e-cigarette store here in Lexington. This store is the third or fourth for AltSmoke.

I went with no particular intention of making a purchase, but with the option in mind. I was pleased to find SI/Volt lines of both hardware and liquidware well represented. There were many offerings from other producers as well. I purchased a 30 ml bottle of Volt RY4. The price was the same as online and the 10% 'first purchase' discount more than covered the sales tax.

Look through any long juice thread on ECF, and you’ll find instances where someone who does not participate in the thread leaves a single post shouting that a certain juice is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Are such people shills? Probably not. Technically, shills are hired by companies to promote products while pretending to be ordinary consumers, so these ECF one-shot posters aren't really shills---they're just regular folks spreading the word about juices they love. My only gripe is that they tend not to leave any substantive information. Simply touting a juice as “best ever” doesn’t inspire me to try it. In fact, I tend to dismiss such posts as untrustworthy hype.

No, Yaeliq Double RY4 is not on The Big List, but we’ve heard of it. It just hasn’t been reviewed yet, and RY4s don’t get on The Big List until they’ve been reviewed. RPadTV purchased bottles of Yaeliq RY4 and RY4 Asian, and posted about their smell when they arrived, but he didn’t subsequently post reviews here. And Vinv’s single word “insane” doesn’t constitute a review.

Yaeliq is an Israeli online vendor (site link: Yaeliq.com) For all I know, it may be a one-person operation (or not). Yaeliq sells only one size bottle---100mls---for $18 plus shipping from Israel. Orders over $50 get free shipping, so that’s deep discount bulk pricing: 300mls for $54 (18¢/ml). There’s a thread about Yaeliq juices on ECF that has both devoted lovers and disappointed haters.

Yaeliq offers three versions of RY4---RY4, RY4 Asian, and Double RY4. The names of the last two can’t help but make one wonder if Yaeliq is using all-in-one TPA RY4 flavorings to make those. (TPA sells flavorings called RY4 Asian and RY4 Double.) Not that doing so is against the law or anything; many vendors use off-the-shelf flavorings from flavoring companies such as TPA/TFA, FlavourArt, LorAnn, Capella, Flavor West, etc., to make simple single-flavor retail juices.

The retail juice marketplace is much less diverse than one might assume. Artisan-crafted, custom-tailored juices are available from many different vendors, of course, but a considerable percentage of retail juices are little more than pre-mixed commercial DIY. Again, there’s no law against that.

Heck, the majority of vendors don’t even make their own juices. They outsource it. Sometimes the wholesalers use the vendor’s proprietary recipes, sometimes not. I have nothing against vendors who work with a major juice manufacturer, such as Dekang, to produce a custom-tailored line of juices for that vendor.

On the other hand, the fact that some vendors custom-tailor their retail juices from scratch, developing the juices in their own labs, using numerous flavorings and testing, provides no guarantee that the juices will be good.

Are Yaeliq RY4s great? I don’t know, and I won’t until someone sends me some to try, because I’m not going to buy any. Sorry, but I’ve spent enough on RY4s. Oh, I still buy a new RY4 on occasion, but I’m not spending $54 for 300mls of juice that I’ll probably never vape just to be able to review it.

So, Vinv, you got a 100ml bottle of Yaeliq Double RY4. If you send me a 3ml bottle from that, I’ll post a review and add it to The Big RY4 List. PM me for my address. After I get it, I'll paypal you $3 to reimburse your shipping cost. Or contact Yaeliq and ask them to send me small samples of their RY4s at 18mg. I don't personally request freebies from vendors for review, but other posters have taken it on themselves to do so, and I'm fine with that.

Yeah one word isn't a legitimate review, but in one case it would be. For Ravyn from Alice; "nevermore" about covers it.

Yeah, Jerms, so quoth the Ravyn. LOL. The juicemaster/mistress at AiV really got carried away with that one. If one flavoring is good, then 457 flavorings must be better, right?

Right? Like going to a buffet, grabbing a bit of everything, and throwing it all into a blender hoping for a tasty treat.

Weird that such a hot mess came from a normally deft and subtle hand. I still have some left; at first I thought it had promise but now I'm scared to even vape it. Don't know if I'll taste the blackberry or the rancid bbq sauce on burnt ribs. Ravyn has a major identity crisis going on.

Now it goes as a surprise sample when I give away juice to someone. Kind of a; here, I dare you lol. Sometimes I almost try it again; but then PTSD kicks in and I put it back.

Oh man, you said a mouthful there. I actually have TWO bottles of Ravyn---a 30ml I bought (#81), and a 15ml (#11) that AiV sent me when they read online that my first bottle was apparently lost in the mail (ironically, it was eventually delivered).

About once every six months, I lose my grasp on sanity and vape a little Ravyn, just to see if long steeping might improve it (as happened miraculously with my first bottle of Halo Tribeca). I've even had the reaction of thinking that it's getting better, but only for about a minute. By the fourth toke, I'm invariably reminded of what an experiment-gone-horribly-wrong Ravyn truly is. Then I put it away for another six months in solitary confinement on Juice Death Row.

Someday I'll probably pour the contents of both bottles down the drain in an all-too-justified fit of pique. RIP, Ravyn.

Just as a quick shout out to Passer, tried his RY4 Fancy today. I am not as experienced with RY4s or sophisticated with words as some around here who post extraordinary descriptive detailed reviews (which is meant as compliment to the reviewers!!!), nor have I had Janty or other RY4s members compare it to. My review can be summed up in 2 words. WOW! and YUM!! That about covers it for me.

Thanks Passer! 5 stars from me!! Now to try my Apollo and Gj4.

MaddCatt Vapors Super Catt Joose.

MaddCatt already has two ry4s, RyW4 and RyJ4. I like, but don't love both of those offerings.
Super Catt Joose is another custom ry4. This version has a more buttery caramel. The overall flavor is more rich than sweet. Tobacco takes a bit of a back seat, although you can taste it throughout the vape. On the exhale, there is a sweet vanilla icing flavor.

Super Catt Joose is very similar to Nashville Vapors Master Blend. I am going to send this and two other new (to the list) flavors off to Mr. Bill for his review. It may be that he doesn't agree that this is a true ry4. That is fine. I like this version better than their other ry4 choices.

I don't know if someone here is messing with me, but today I get a Shamrock flavor from the Super Catt Joose. Oh well, it's Bill's problem now.

Just tried TFA RY4 type 1 today.
Vanilla, vanilla vanilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I use enough exclamation marks?
Yuk!

[edit] Even though I'm over sensitive to PG I couldn't resist and opened my 2007 1-litre bottle of original recipe Ludo/Dekang RY4. And yes! It's still that great. Wonder if I'll ever find something this good again.
This stuff should be stored in a wine cellar next to a bottle of Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits! [/edit]

Yes, it's truly dreadful, isn't it?

2007 Janty RY4? Glad to hear that you have a liter of Original Recipe. That's so much better than a liter of Extra Crispy. (Sorry, I couldn't resist...) Let's see, that's 33 30ml bottles of the first RY4 ever made, with a 10ml bottle left over. Pretty good.

You should get it insured by Lloyd's of London.

Nice thread.
I tried RY4 on my second day as vaper; got it from a local vendor which is inexistent as of now (incidentally, that was particularly great as I resorted to grab stuff from china, 70% off their price or so) and I got a little addicted ok?
Right now I only have like 5 ml left from a couple bottles I ordered, but I've found other good "everyday" juices, so I worry not.

But, it would be interesting to know if there is a place where one can get RY4 in china? Or for that matter any other site that will not carry expensive shipping costs?
I know I could order RY4 from the US when I make the next "big order" of gadgets and whatnot, but I'd prefer something I can "rely on" (like China, where I order with a click, forget about it, and get it delivered a month later at home).
I only found RY1 at FastTech and it has a terrible smoky taste.

I'm tempted to order form Yaeliq, but due to billherbst's post a few pages back I feel discouraged, and it's 28 bucks for a shot in the dark (that could end up being 100 ml of useless juice, or 100 ml of relic desires, but most likely the former haha).

vapsychedelic,

Here's another good Chinese site. You can purchase 50ml of Hangsen RY4 (which is one of the highest-rated Chinese RY4s and among my personal favorites) from VaporBreak for $4.50 plus $4.27 shipping. $8.77 total, or 17¢/ml. If you buy two bottles (100mls), shipping stays the same (total cost $13.27), so your unit cost goes down to 13¢/ml. Hard to beat that. I've ordered from VaporBreak often in the past, and they're reliable.

This has to be the best thread I've seen here at ECF, incredible detail in here. I went through about 100 pages of this and have one question...

I noticed you were down on Tribeca and didn't want to categorize it for the longest time, then gave it a D+ and now it's an A. What changed your mind (didn't find when you changed) and how different is Tribecca from most RY4s? I have ECBlend RY4 and Tribeca and think they are not even cousin-like, they are completely different. Not different bad either, just different. I like Tribeca some, but find it only really appropriate for beer vaping. The ECBlend RY4 is something I could vape all day, Tribeca is just too overpowering for me if that makes any sense.

I am digging deeper into this RY4 world. I am low on the ECBlend version now and since it needs to steep, I need a replacement. I do have Vapor's Knoll here as a local B&M though, so I'll probably stop over and test that one since you have it rated so high. Great thread though, tremendous work done in here.
