I finally got my hands on some Backwoods Brew RY4 to try. Bill in your opinion how long should I let it steep? THANKS

I'm not sure how long to steep it but you should be aware that Don has officially announced the discontinuation of both ejoker and ry4. Too much hassle.

Sad day in vapedom. ;-(((((((((

...you should be aware that Don has officially announced the discontinuation of both ejoker and ry4. Too much hassle.

Like the shock of political assassinations in the 1960s or dead rock stars in the 1970s, more beloved juices bite the dust, in this case due to supply chain problems, prohibitive costs, and general weirdness in commerce. We're eventually going to need a museum for all these departed and much-lamented eliquids---the lost Dekang RY4, BackwoodsBrew Café Mocha, NiteLite VapeTV Bounty Hunter, AlienVisions Raf-a-licious, and now BWB Ejoker and RY4. Expect many more casualties to come in the years ahead...

The good news, of course, (or at least compensation for our losses) is that even as popular juices shuffle off this mortal coil and vanish into the ether to become mere footnotes in vaping history, other new and wonderful juices are created to take their places in the Passing Parade of the Marketplace.

In addition, when you're a withered old curmudgeon, you can tell your grandchildren about how you actually vaped Backwoods Brew RY4 and how great it was. Ultimately, most everything becomes fodder for story-telling. LOL.

Back when I was a kid and watched old Hollywood movies on Saturday afternoon TV that were historical costume dramas, some English king would die early on in the movie, and another character in the royal court would immediately proclaim: "The King is dead! Long live the King!" As a child, I wondered, "What the hell does that mean?" Eventually I realized that what the phrase actually meant was, "The (Old) King is dead! Long live the (New) King!" Duh.

And so it goes...

sandy,

Mad 4, eh? Well, you found that one in about the last place I would have looked (Top Vapor isn't exactly one of my go-to juice sources...).

Must be new, since the oldest customer comment is from mid-January. And the comments are all over the map. Some say caramel cotton-candy, one says butterscotch, a couple more say no caramel at all, just burnt cotton candy (is that like crème brulée? probably not). Another says not sweet but rich. Only one mentions tobacco or RY4, but the name itself is sort of a dead giveaway.

Another inexpensive option for people to try, and the made-in-USA fans will like it, too.

Yeah, it was a shocker for me, too. Someone recommended it, and I was ordering something else from Mad Vapes, so I got a 5 ml bottle of it. I immediately re-ordered, the 50 ml bottle! It is hard to describe. Lightly sweet, no real vanilla taste, kind of smoky intense caramel.

Still,

I am 100% in agreement with you on this one! I don't intend in any way to impugn Sandy---I'm glad she found another RY4 that she likes---but I gave up on Top Vapor juices a long time back, and I mean gave up on them completely.

The only way I'll try Mad 4 is if someone sends me a sample, which, because of my austerity program to spend no more money on vaping, is about the only way I'll try any RY4s I haven't already reviewed. LOL. I keep hoping that other people will step up and start doing full reviews of more RY4s.

Spring Vapor did send me another new RY4 to review (their third version), but I'm giving it a couple weeks of steeping time before doing the review. This one's called Black Label RY4 Day and Night, and it's on their web site now.

PM me your address if you want a sample - but it's 6 mg., maybe too weak for you.

For some reason I get sucked in reading these rave reviews on their site, then I just fall into a sea of disappointment when I order the stuff and find out it's terrible.... :(

I agree, most of MadVapes Top Vapor line is yucky. But their cantaloupe is the only fruit flavor that I will vape.

Has anyone done a review on the Joyetech branded RY4? I am vaping it now and I quite like it but I'm curious to see how it stacks up and whether I could be vaping something better?

light487,

I haven't vaped any JoyeTech RY4, but---as far as I know---JoyeTech neither formulates nor manufactures any of its own juices. I've read more than once that Joye uses standard off-the-shelf Dekang provided in custom-labeled bottles. If that's true, then JoyeTech RY4 is Dekang RY4.

Can I recommend a better RY4 than Joyetech/Dekang? In a word, no. The word "better" applied to juices is entirely subjective and personal. If other vapers tell you that a certain RY4 is "better" than JoyeTech/Dekang RY4, they're speaking for their own taste buds, palate, and brain---not yours. If you know people whose taste preferences are typically close to yours, their advice about a better RY4 might apply, but even in that case, what tastes better to them may not taste better to you.

Sorry. I don't mean to be unhelpful, but what may seem a simple and straightforward question (what RY4 would you like better?) is actually a fairly elusive Holy Grail quest that could easily require much time, research, and expense. And even then you might still like your current RY4 best. You won't know without actually vaping other RY4s, perhaps lots of them.

Hi Light487, glad to read you here.

I think the Joyetech RY4 is the same sold by TW as Titan Fluid line. TW states their Titan Fluid is from Joyetech, maybe Dekang makes their line but to me the RY4 from TW is very different from the Dekang one. Maybe Im wrong so dont take as true. I like the TW RY4 more.

But like Bill said, is all subjective. A lot of people likes Raf a licius but is not for me. A lot of people hates Tribeka but I love it.

Another good to me is HC RY4 specially the flavoring to make my own RY4 with a few drops of FA RY4, PA Dulce de Leche and PA Waffle.

Is it possible Dekang makes a different mix for Joyetech, I ask a vendor and this is what I was told. So the only way to find out my self is to try some :vapor:

Hi Roy,
Joyetech and Dekang are not the same. The flavors are completely different. I carry 6mg in both. The Joyetech is here and the dekang is here. Just for reference, the joyetech is marketed as Low (6mg) Medium (11mg) and High (16mg.) BUt to answer your question again, joyetech is not Dekang. Two totally different juices. Thanks,
Nick

Whether JoyeTech outsources manufacture of its juice line or has its own proprietary juice production facilities remains unconfirmed, but from Nick's email it certainly sounds like JoyeTech specifies custom formulas and flavor profiles for its juices. The description of JoyeTech RY4 on the GoodEJuice site states a chocolate undertone, which is definitely not a flavor in Dekang's RY4 recipe.

I haven't ever vaped any JoyeTech liquids, so I can't offer a personal opinion. I just share what I've read and try to report that as accurately as I can.

I often wish that the information one reads about all the different aspects of vaping---whether on the forums or elsewhere---were more dependable. Even information supposedly from the horse's mouth is sometimes suspect. Oh well, that's life. Always consider the source, verify if possible, and don't trust as gospel 90% of what's written.

Joyetech's RY4 is very good.

Profile...

If the juice was a gal, it would be DKNG's RY4 sister; younger, more sophisticated. Physically similar -as in "yesss, they ARE sisters for sure- yet different. Smaller boobies. More "modern" and fashionable. More "chick". More lady-like, still a bit more on the porn-side of the spectrum, in a way.

She wears fashionable glasses and a mesmerizing perfume.

She vapes (while her sister smokes...).

Short hair, brown (sister's blonde, long long...).

She is a virgin, just not 100 %.

Pure, yet nasty.

True and at the same time full of fantasy.

Cool. Indeed.

She drives a scooter and looks a bit like a french girl from the 50s as she rides...

Have always loved the idea of a Pony. Never such luck, though.

Well, I hope you get the picture.

Oh, and last but not least, she has a penchant for champagne;

She also loves dogs.

Champagne; Dogs and Champange.

This makes total sense to me as an analogy. Oh, and while most opinions about e-liquids are subjective in nature, mine; today, right here, right now is not.

100 % Objective.

=)
