Seems like a good bet that someone will happily snap up your hand-me-down BWB RY4, especially now that it's an endangered species that might already be extinct. I'm very curious to see (and taste) what Don will come up with to replace it.

Personally, double-extra flavor has never worked for me with ECBlend juices. Same bad results as when I get carried away with my own diy juice-making and add too much flavoring. Single-extra flavoring seems OK with ECB, but double-extra has always been too much. But that's just me. You might love their RY4 loaded up to the brim with extra flavor.

To me, ECBlend is a "smorgasbord/cafeteria/kitchen sink" juice vendor. They're hard-working, attentive to customers, offer a huge menu of juices at very inexpensive prices, and offer every option imaginable. You want something? ECBlend will try to give it to you. My personal reaction to their juices has been mixed. Some pretty good, some not-so-good. But again, that's just me. I've read posts by fans who seem to love every juice ECB sells. Their basic RY4 with standard flavoring is certainly respectable.

Hey Bill,

Yeah, unfortunately for me I not only have a somewhat "simple palate" when it comes to juices (I can't taste certain flavors at all), but in recent weeks have had my tastebuds all but conk-out on me. Some of my favorite jooses have no flavor at all now, and I don't have a clue why. That's why I went for the uber-flavor, in hope that doing so will overcome my inability to taste. Fingers crossed!

And regarding ECB's attitude, I immediately ran into a fine example. I asked them if they could add Almond to the "flavor shots" for their "Coffee Your Own Way" juice, and not only got a response the same day (barely an hour or two), but they'd updated the website to add it prior to emailing me. I was a big fan of Carnation's Mocha Almond creamer, which they took off the market several years ago, so want to see if I can recreate the flavor. :)

Don't worry, your taste buds will recover - eventually. :) Many people go through this at some point. I wouldn't try to bomb them with overly strong flavors though, you just might prolong the problem. I usually vape something really simple that I can "sort of" taste, or pick two complimentary juices, like vanilla and fruit of some sort, and change often. Or just vape unflavored. It doesn't last too long, usually.

Thought I already posted it but I said that my IKV RY4 didn't have Gold written on the bottle anywhere. I bought a bunch when he first introduced it. That was why I thought when people just mentioned "Gold" they were talking about something else. Looking at the bottle right now, nothing saying Gold on it. OK, that should clear that up.

andel,

OK. I'm fairly sure there's only one version of IKV RY4, whether it's called Gold or not. But what do I know?

Well, I'll be. Darned if you aren't right, roxxette! There are two different versions of IKV---RY4 and RY4 Gold. Apologies to all for my ignorance. I'm obviously not all that great at keeping up with new developments in RY4 Land, which grows so fast and changes so often.

A batch of Ry4 came in and it's RY4 Gold baby! So for those who enjoy the sweetened steeped version look for Ry4, for those who love our original revival recipe, look out for the RY4 GOLD :)

That's Isaac writing yesterday in post #35 of the "IKV Store Update" thread on the Ikenvape sub-forum. Here's a link: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ikenvape/299149-ikv-store-update-4.html#post6285602

Bill and others - are there any exceptional RY4s that lean heavily towards the clear or light in color side of things?

Cool_Breeze,

First, what is an "exceptional" RY4 to me may not be to you, so I have to remove that adjective from your question in order to respond.

Next, many RY4s are relatively light-colored. I can't recall any that are transparent like water, but many are pale golden in color. Fewer are dark, and those are exclusively custom RY4s. Most classic RY4s are lighter-colored.

The problem for me with your question is that I don't have that information easily at hand and would have to spend considerable time and trouble amassing it. I'd need to go into my RY4 cabinet and literally check every bottle, then make up categories for different shades of lightness, then write down every RY4's category. Aaaarrrgh! That's waaaaay too much work.

Can you specify a particular RY4 that I could use as a benchmark? That way, I could more easily tell you some RY4s that might be lighter than your reference standard.

Exceptional would be 'high on your list'...

No research project is sought...lol...was just wondering. (You're not thinking about retiring, are you?)

The only RY4 of any count that I am familiar with is GJ4.

Cool,

I'm already semi-retired, which---unless ill health destroys my ability to work---is as close to fully retired as I'm likely to get, since I'm not among the ultra-wealthy (or even the regular wealthy...). I am, as they say, a "working stiff." Luckily for me, I've always been self-employed, and even after 40 years I still love what I do to pay the rent.

GJ4 uses a natural extract tobacco base---juices made with natural extract tobacco are almost always quite dark because of the tobacco leaf particulates that remain from the maceration process. As I think I wrote in my former response, classic RY4s are generally lighter than custom RY4s, and GJ4 is definitely custom.

Let me suggest a bunch of very light-colored (classic) RY4s. These are links cut-and-pasted from the Big List, with post numbers afterward for the original reviews:
