ok bill, need ur help on sumthin. i just received a 30 ml bottle of quicknic's ry4. i had it set to steep but wanted to try it to check out the flavor. it reminds me very much of highbrow's ry4 which actually made me nauseous. it is a strong part of the flavor that i have only gotten from highbrow and made me read through both reviews. highbrow's lists a couple others as having the nutty taste, and im not sure ive actually had any nutty ry4's but i think the more likely culprit is either the TA or that cocoa liqueur, do the other ry4's on your list that have this liqueur/TA taste like quicknic and highbrow? and is this more representative of the chinese ry4?
Update on my previous review of RYgar, made by Want2vape for Vulcan Vape. I just got a 12ml of W2V Red Pirate and I am pretty sure that this is the base of RYgar. So if you ever wanted a RY4 version of Red Pirate, or just think it sounds like a good idea, do try.
I also scored a small bottle of Rock Star. My first impression is "boozy". I think what other reviewers call "high notes" strikes me as a winey or other alcoholic note. It is definitely brighter than other RY4s. Luscious caramel and a sweet fruity vanilla add to the toothsome mix.. I like.

Highbrow's RY4 and some others use a tobacco flavor that has a very distinctive taste. I identified it right away when I bought some of the flavoring to try, because it's so unique. I think Highbrow uses too much of it in their RY4 and it becomes the by far predominant note to me. It has notes of cocoa, so they may not use any cocoa flavoring at all.

thats good to know, i just got some gj4 and like it, tastes alot like vaperites vr4 with a lil less caramel. i also have some crystal ry4 coming in 2 days. i plan on getting some ikenvape if the site ever comes up, or some dekang or janty to test some original ry's..although the sour aspect kinda scares me lol. i originally ordered the quicknic because its on the vanilla-rich list. maybe the vanilla will come through better with steeping but all i coud taste was that predominant nauseating flavor. i was thinking of trying the primevaping pv4. out of the vanilla rich section what would you recommend?Bahammut,
QuickNic RY4 and Highbrow RY4 are both custom rather than classic. I initially liked them both, primarily because they are so different from most RY4s, but both paled for me fairly quickly, and now I don't much care for either.
Very few RY4s use chocolate or cocoa as an ingredient, and only a small minority (less than 10%) use Tobacco Absolute or nut flavors. So you have many more from which to choose.
I'd suggest picking a couple from my own current Personal Top 10. If you don't find any you like in this list, then RY4 may not be for you. But don't judge based solely on QuickNic and Highbrow, since they are distinctly atypical:
1. RWVapors RY4
2. Vapor..... OuR-Y4
3. VaporTalk Dulcis
4. Ikenvape RY4 Gold (very nice nuttiness)
5. Dekang RY4 (HealthCabin)
6. CrystalELiquid Double-Tobacco RY4
7. CrystalELiquid RY4
8. KickBassVapor RY4
9. MrVape RY4
10. Goodejuice GJ4

That's interesting about highbrow. I happen to enjoy that specific, distinct flavor but I do think it could be toned down a tad.
I don't mean to be dismissive, but since you're fairly well-versed on The Big List and the Category Groups, I'll pass on further recommendations. Giving advice about what someone else might buy always strikes me as a dicey proposition. Breaking my own rules once in any exchange is as much as I want to risk. LOL.
You can always do what I did, of course---buy every RY4 you can find until they come out of your ears or your wallet is empty, whichever comes first.
Ah, yes. The dreaded "taste is subjective" meme rears up to roar once again: One person's yummy is another person's nausea.
