Yep, Val I got home last night.....in the midst of an ice storm lol. But I got one WD on the dvr and the new one tonight so I call that getting March off to a good start. Family is doing well so I can deal with life getting difficult as long as we are all healthy.

Well that's good news, you had me worried!

As for WD, I am really enjoying this season. The new book comes out the 4th, and this time I didn't pre order it, so hopefully it will come on time

Do you want me to send it when I am done?

Nah I'll probably just buy it online and read it on my tablet so I can get it right away. I'm really excited about this season and the last book. I was shocked to see Carol return so soon. And glad to see the baby still alive although if Carol hadn't showed up when she did I don't think she would've survived much longer with that psychopath. I'd go to the WD thread but I need to wait until I watch last weeks first. And for that I need the kiddo to get to bed. lol.

When I fall down it is always face first aaargh!

Nothing like a skint forehead and nose to make me feel like a idiot for falling. I should always use my walker outside or the wheelchair but nooo i just had my cane.

Oh well at least i didn't hurt anything but my face and my pride. The puppies thought it was a good time to play so i couldn't get back up very quick smh

My neighbor says i need to get one of those lifeline callers to wear outside in case i can't get back up.I guess she is right but i have been putting it off. so i have to look up the details on how to get one o_O

No one can understand the terror of falling like that until it has happened to them. I agree with the neighbor, get that lifeline!

And don't feel like an idiot, it has happened to me and many others too. Just when you least expect it BAM! Very scary stuff.

So my brother dug this out of my parents basement and brought it home and we made ice cream. THe receipt was still in the box, Purchased 1973...$14.95.

My parents still make ice cream with their ice cream maker from the same time era. Fond memories growing up, with my grandfather setting it up with ice and rock salt, and the sound of it whirring away and the anticipation of the yummy treat to come!

Thanks everyone. I think the machine hasn't been used in about 40 years so it was fun to resurrect it. At most it was used 2 or 3 times way back when. I think we used about 14 trays of ice cubes. THe ice cream is really rich. I can eat ice cream like mad but only so much of that. I think the boy on the right in the illustration ended up a crack addict and the girl in the pink dress got arrested for shoplifting. Anyway they had a great time growing up in suburban America in the 50s. Norman Rockwell world for sure.

My local fire dept. up the road has an ice cream social every year to raise funds, everyone breaks out their old ic makers, it's a lot of fun, part of the charm of small town living. Everybody goes!

weather: it was 60 degrees all week, even some of my bulbs were starting to poke their heads up, and found a tick on one of my cats. Thought spring was here.

today? Ice is falling from the sky, and wind chills are expected to be minus 1 degrees tonight and 18 degree temps tomorrow.

And as the ice was falling, huge thunder and lightning storms. Its ridiculous, none of this even "matches up" sort of like a bad wardrobe day

We've been running 10-20 degrees colder then average this winter, luckily the 12-18 inches they were screaming about for the last few days is gonna end up being more like 2-4 inches at most....whew....that I can deal with. Unfortunately it'll be dropping below 0 yet again! Hopefully after all this junk passes we'll start getting hints that spring is on it's way.
