Good morning REOvillians!
LISA, sorry to hear you are ill. With everything you have going on please take the time to get well.
I tried a new program on my exercise bike. It was "walk in the park".... and no, it wasn't. But it was much easier than the mountain one! I have noticed improvement almost immediately in my leg, and can do the stairs (up) much easier after a few days of agony. I (sort of) wish I had this thing a long time ago! I had to suspend the cable at the condo to pay for it (funny how I can find the money for a REO but not an exercise bike right?) but it will be back on in time to dvr Walking Dead because I have priorities ya know
I am looking for a
cinnamon red hot recipe if anyone has one to share. I want to DIY some for a friend, and not sure what I need flavor wise. I can look up a recipe, but would prefer one that has been tested
Tomorrow I am making seafood enchilada casserole (because it tastes exactly like the rolled ones and is so much easier!). For the bottom it is plain verde sauce, for the filling I am using crema with a verde sauce, but for the top after it is cooked I am going to make a lime crema (super easy, just add lime to the crema). I have a ton of crab to shell, shrimp to shell and devein, and bought a little tilapia to fill in if I don't have enough of the shellfish. I am going to make a stock from the crab and shrimp shells to start some kind of a Manhattan style fish soup but can freeze them to do it later. And why I am going
through all of this? Because my hypochondriac brother won't be here and I finally can do something with the fish that was on sale at the grocery. I wouldn't bother with all the prep for just DH and I, but I checked with all the guests and they are all in!
I have a tip for anyone planning on International travel:
having a passport that expires in 6 weeks will NOT get you into a foreign country. Here in the US they want it valid for 6 months, and in other countries it is 3 months or so says my (normal) brother. How does he know this? My brother and his wife were at the airport and he was denied boarding with a valid (but expiring in 6 weeks) passport. His wife is a musician and is performing in Prague, so she went along without him. I went to lunch with him yesterday, and he said while he hates the wasted money on his unused tickets etc., he is actually glad he didn't go and is enjoying his time alone (which doesn't bode well for THAT marriage but that is another topic....). So, do the responsible thing and please check your papers BEFORE you pay for the trip.
Have a great day everyone, I am having a friend come over for a shellfish shelling party
