Good morning Reoville!

Was rocking and a rolling this morning around 3:20am. Remembered I was alone in the house and took that silly grin off my face when I realized we were having a bit of an earthquake. The rumbling lasted a deceit amount of time, say 15-20 seconds and I was thinking maybe it was around 3.0 on the richter scale. Not enough to get me out of my bed and immediately fell back asleep. Low and behold I find out that it was a 6.0 and about 40 miles away. Pretty good size jolt. No damage in my town but some places not so lucky.

Hope you all have a great Sunday!

I don't miss those! I went through the Sylmar, Whittier, Sierra Madre, Landers and several other quakes. We have a few in Texas, but haven't felt them.

Whittier was fun. Northridge even more so. I was on the 710/91 connector bridge about 80 feet off the ground in the middle of the curve as it was happening!!! Thought I was on a roller coaster for a brief moment. Don't miss that at all.

I was living in Sierra Madre back then. That Northridge one at 4:30 in the morning really tore things up. Lots of overpasses came down. You were lucky! Remember the motorcycle cop on his way to work went of that overpass that collapsed?

I think that was on the 5/14 connector IIRC. There were a few people that went over on that one and others were stranded up there for several hours. There was a lot of freeway destruction just north and north/west of Northridge when that one happened. I was living in South Gate when that one hit.

It woke me up as well. I rarely feel the quakes here. Normally I hear the boom of them rather than feel them. I was surprised when I turned on the news this morning to hear it was 6.0 with a lot of damage up there.

Good morning everyone.

Not too much here in the south bay but it was felt. It did bring of memories of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.

Morning REOville. Stay safe.

I remember that one, Gilikins. It was terrible especially because it happened during rush hour. I had staff that commuted home over the area where the overpass collapsed. Social Services did lose a few employees in the collapse. :( I was living in Hayward at the time.

I was living across the street from where I live now. Our trailered boat sat flush against the wall of our garage with blocks and the jolts rocked so hard the hitch pounded a hole all the way through it.
