Thank you for sharing....your picture and your story brings back some great memories...
Oh how I wish I carried a camera when I was younger. I used to be part of this little "breakfast club" at Ted's Diner in Mill Creek. There were 6 gentlemen, all over the age of 70. I think I may have been about 19-20ish at the time. We ate breakfast together, played cribbage, drank coffee and smoked a lot of cigarettes. They were my "clique" that I hung out with before work, every day from 7am to 9am....for several years. Your friend reminds me of one of these guys....his name was Ollie. He was a black man who proudly served in the Navy and had some fantastic stories of being a troublemaker and his journey in general. I'll always have a special place in my heart for him. I'm sure he's long passed now, but he was one of those people who made a lasting impression on me. I hope he knows I still think of him often. I think of them all often....even Ted (he was the owner). I would love nothing more than to post a photo showing you my breakfast buddies.

You can learn a lot and be entertained for hours talking to older folks.

Hello lounge. Just got off work to a wonderful surprise of my first bottle of CLS :) honestly made my entire day of work worth it. Now to kick my feet up and relax. One more day to go till I get an off day. Well actually it's a 7am-10am but that might as well be an off day ;)

Thank you for the story about Mac and yourself. Two of my best loved folks in the world are no longer here. I met them through their son who is a very close friend of mine. I became very close to Lee and Ken and spent more time with them than I did with their son. I loved them so much and they returned that love many times over. Many hours were spent well into the late evening playing cards and eating eskimo pies.We laughed, cursed and competed at cut-throat pinochle like our life depended on it. It was a refuge from the world for me.. They were near 80 at the time. Lee passed away about four years ago and Ken about 2 years ago. Here's a photo I made of them together in 2009. I miss them so much.

Good evening, Lounge. I'm a week behind... the best story teller in my life passed away Sunday morning. My last Grandpa. He went peacefully, sitting in his favorite chair. I'm glad he healed up enough to spend a few weeks at home and got to eat some more of Grandma's fine cooking.
I had my last back surgery this morning. Everything went well. After a few hours in my room, my Mom called to let me know my boy just crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I had been battling with the decision of assisting his journey, so I'm glad it was taken out of my hands.
Tapping this out on my phone and quite a few pain meds, sorry if I don't make any sense.

Hope you are back to bouncing around soon Jen and sorry about your dog.

I spent more time at my grandparent's house than my own, because grandpa would give me beer and granny was who taught my mother to cook - so she was better! I loved spending time with them and that's what i remember them both for.
