Because we're on a little island, fire spreading to us is neigh impossible, but a fire started on the island would be serious trouble. Everyone here has a bugout bag and 2 escape routes off the island, just in case. Fortunately, I can put a boat in the ocean from my property and we have 4 of them (extras for landlocked neighbours) by the beach ready to go.

Crazy times.

One big question......what vape gear do you have in your bugout bag?

You joker, you. The harder part was which atties to include.

Tip for those looking for a hard-use case/kit for vape gear: pelican cases. Air tight, very sturdy, available in many sizes.

Forgot about this little flavor machine..1mm air hole on each side Dual 28g Kanthal 2mm ID 7 wrap. Mmm. Tightest draw with a dual coil. The only dual coil set up I enjoy. I’m quite disappointed with the nuppin..need help with that one..someone change my mind!

This guy changed the Nuppin for me...Loved it already but this build was a game changer for some of us.

It's a Reactor!! - Once upon a time, I had 2 Reactors - tightest stock airhole I ever saw!!

That's ALMOST the dual coil build I used on all my stuff for a long time - except I got and preferred 27 gauge. Yes, 27. With that, 6 wraps got me almost exactly 0.4 ohms, and vaped really nicely in a Nuppin.

I now prefer a much looser draw...but those things were rock solid. Reactor on a Reo, you could pound in nails with it. lol.

How is 27 vs 28 Kanthal? I’ve been curious about 27 since it would be a bit tougher than 28 but I’m scared it won’t cool down as fast as 28 which I really like.

I went to it so I could hit some slightly lower resistance I wanted without either having a lot of mass (I use mechs) or losing a bunch of surface area. (for 2.5mm coils, 5-wraps=0.4, 6.5-wraps=0.5)

And it did the trick - no real "ramp up" difference, so I don't think there's much "cool down" difference either.

27 is a fine gauge in and around the net ohms range you're shooting for, IMHO. I found no ramp up or down issues, whereas they can come into play with dual 26's (which I, personally, wouldn't want in a tight atty like the reactor).

As for the nuppin', it absolutely sings with the right build in it. I had a lot of success with offsetting the heights of the coils in a dual build (one higher than the other - just as the designer/manufacturer recommended), but I, too, then fell in love with the single overhead parallel coil

Dang, makes me want to break one out and run one again. I have this spiced chai DIY juice that was off the charts in that atty.

I met someone in person today through a mutual friend and after some unexpected vape talk, I found out they have an old reo and chalice ii they don’t use. I’m trying to convince him to sell the chalice to me; I’ll even buy the Reo too if he’s willing . I think he’s mulling it over. I’ve been searching for months. Praying; I need to complete this collection. Hope he bites :D

Wow, never thought to try a dual coil build in the OL16. :thumb: Not bad at all

hey all! I haven't been here in a while but I'm having fun catching up on older posts. I'm still vaping minimum nic and all VG in my original Reo with a EZCloud Maker atty wide open with the huge drip tip with big lung hits. Its been my staple for a year but may give the MTL atty a shot one of these days which is what I started with. Good to see lots of familiar folks here.

Hey there and good to see you! It’s so easy to just get comfy with our Reos isn’t it? I hear you! Sometimes I take our Forum for granted. Pull up a chair and sit a spell.

So you’re thinking about going back to MTL. Curious. Is it for the flavor? I’ve been gently stretching the other way. My O-16’s have spoiled me with flavor and nearly DLH. Will see how far I stretch it. Love me some flavor put don’t want to work so hard as I used to with the RM2 draws Haha. Just got a Chalice 4. Haven’t build a coil yet (been a bit busy) but looking forward to it. Been a few years since I tried a new atty.

No added flavor but you know VG has a bit of sweetness and the nic has a little bite. The RM2 is the one I have but it's been so long I forgot the name (yes I'm getting old) :). I just thought I'd like to try MTL again to conserve battery and reduce juice consumption. I'll let ya all know how it goes.

I'll be on my roof all day today stripping shingles and prepping for the metal roof I'm putting on. I like the view up there!

I have an O-16 and it was nice but collapsed a couple springs after re-coils and had me scratching my head because everything looked good. The Maker has a huge deck so I'm spoiled and I'll have to be careful with the teensy tiny RM2.

This was day 2 on the roof and I'm sore tonight. One more day of tear off and then I'll roll out Ice and Water Shield and wait for the steel roof panels to be delivered. Definitely my last roof job.

If you collapsed a spring it was either legs touching the cap or the coil it’s self was touching the cap :(
